As Lianyi reached for the wardrobe door, she heard Qing Yunnong's call and quickly left. Inside the wardrobe, Han Sheng had inhaled a potent aphrodisiac powder from the clothes, leaving her disoriented and flushed. Chun Yao rushed to her, but Han Sheng, under the powder's influence, found him "cute" and kissed him passionately. Despite Chun Yao's attempts to resist and warn her not to do anything she would regret, they both tumbled into the bath, overcome by desire.
Meanwhile, Kong Qi, seeing Xiao Shan's deep sadness, brought her some red bean buns. Xiao Shan recognized the red beans as a symbol of lovesickness, recalling a girl who used to bring "her" similar buns after martial arts practice. She asked Kong Qi if he had a beloved in mind and offered to propose on his behalf.
Kong Qi confessed his profound regret for losing his beloved, admitting he was too weak to ever express his feelings for the woman who had protected him his entire life. He vowed that if he were given another chance, he would cherish, care for, and guard her with all his being. Xiao Shan, touched by his sincerity, believed they were destined to reunite.
In return for his thoughtfulness, Xiao Shan offered to teach Kong Qi martial arts so he could protect his sweetheart. During their training, Kong Qi instinctively caught Xiao Shan when she nearly fell, holding her close before they quickly separated, both flustered. Kong Qi later noticed the Ice Fire Stone on Xiao Shan's neck and heard her mumble his name, then Qing Yunnong's, in her sleep, leaving him to ponder the complexities of their affections.
To lift Xiao Shan's spirits, Kong Qi arranged a magnificent fireworks display. Xiao Shan was enchanted by the beautiful yet fleeting spectacle, reflecting on how life becomes worthwhile when love truly blooms. Qing Yunnong, while out with Lianyi, also witnessed the fireworks. Perplexed by the display, as the Feathered Clan traditionally disliked fireworks, he questioned his butler.
The butler explained that Xiao Shan, referred to as "Her Highness," had Kong Qi arrange them as a wedding blessing for Qing Yunnong and Lianyi, hoping their marriage would be as splendid as the fireworks, which held auspicious meanings in snowy regions. Qing Yunnong was impressed by Xiao Shan's thoughtful gesture. The next morning, Chun Yao awoke to find Han Sheng's hand on him.
Startled, he tried to move, only to be kicked out of bed by a bewildered Han Sheng. Realizing they had spent the night together and were in different clothes, Han Sheng angrily accused Chun Yao of being immoral and demanded he take responsibility. Chun Yao, exasperated, reminded her that she was the one who initiated the kiss while under the aphrodisiac's influence.
As memories of the previous night flooded back, Han Sheng quickly changed her story, claiming she suffered from sleepwalking and enjoyed trying on clothes at midnight. She then quickly demanded an elaborate breakfast from Chun Yao, effectively diverting the conversation and sending him away. Alone, Han Sheng, accustomed to the intrigues of the Northland Kingdom, was mortified that she had fallen prey to such a scheme and wondered how she would ever face Chun Yao again.
Later, Qing Yunnong had angelica mutton soup specially prepared for Lianyi, who he believed needed nourishment. During the serving, Lianyi was accidentally scalded. He offered to provide her with a private mansion, like other emperor's wives, to ensure her rest wasn't disturbed by his late nights due to military affairs. However, Lianyi insisted on staying by his side. Meanwhile, Chun Yao, still disguised as a doctor, and Han Sheng noticed a servant with a distinct Snow Wolf tattoo.
Connecting this to a similar mark he'd previously seen on Lianyi's hand, Chun Yao deduced that Lianyi was a Snow Wolf spy. Believing the servant was embarking on a mission, Chun Yao and Han Sheng secretly followed him as they prepared to leave Xiao Shan's residence. Separately, Qing Yunnong visited Xiao Shan to discuss military strategy. There, he found an earring on her table, which Xiao Shan confirmed was hers, explaining its unique origin as a gift from her father.
She had kept it as a cherished memento despite losing its pair years ago. Qing Yunnong later presented this same earring to Lianyi, falsely claiming she had dropped it when she saved him, expressing his hope that they would grow old together. As Lianyi was about to try it on, she suddenly fainted. A physician was summoned and diagnosed Lianyi with pregnancy, a revelation that overjoyed Qing Yunnong.
Chun Yao, still in his doctor disguise, insisted on performing his own examination, using complex medical jargon to justify the need for multiple diagnoses during a first pregnancy. Once Qing Yunnong left, Lianyi confronted Chun Yao, suspecting he was sent by Xiao Shan. Chun Yao then declared that he knew she was a Snow Wolf spy and only sought the Snow Lotus, promising to drop all other investigations once he had it.
Lianyi, claiming to be a subordinate, stated she needed to consult the Wolf King and suggested the mansion was not a suitable place for their transaction. Chun Yao agreed to await her response until the following day, warning her of dire consequences should she attempt to trick him. After Chun Yao departed, the shadowy black smoke figure reappeared, advising Lianyi not to yield to Chun Yao's demands and offering assistance.
Later, Chun Yao and Han Sheng stopped at what appeared to be an inn for a meal. Chun Yao sensed an odd atmosphere in the establishment. As their food and liquor were served, Han Sheng found the liquor delightful, but Chun Yao quickly realized they were victims of sorcery. The inn staff were actually assailants, and the black smoke figure, having taken human form, appeared and injured Chun Yao and Han Sheng, ensnaring them using soul-controlling magic.
Injured and caught in a spirit-binding net, Chun Yao and Han Sheng then saw Lianyi appear. She taunted Chun Yao for his carelessness and revealed that the "inn" was, in fact, a Snow Wolf den. Lianyi ordered her guards to imprison Chun Yao and Han Sheng in the dungeon to await the Snow Wolf King's judgment, expressing her gratitude to the black smoke figure for his helpful suggestion and promising to report his contributions to the king.
