Cheng Feng decisively ended things with Jiang Dian, returning his belongings and stating that since they had made their feelings clear, there was no point in keeping them. When Jiang Dian questioned if she truly had to be so resolute, Cheng Feng insisted that a clean break was inevitable, so there was no need to prolong it. She confirmed that her previous statement about them no longer bothering each other still stood.
Devastated, Jiang Dian asked why she was treating him this way when she clearly cared for him, and why she was pushing him away. He felt such a pursuit couldn't last and that it was better to stop. Cheng Feng apologized if her actions had caused him to misunderstand, promising to be more careful in the future, and reiterated that it was indeed a misunderstanding.
Jiang Dian pressed her one last time, asking if it truly was a misunderstanding, but Cheng Feng remained silent. Later, a heartbroken Jiang Dian sought solace in a bar, drinking heavily. The bartender urged him to stop and go home to sleep it off. A sleazy man approached Jiang Dian, calling him "cute" and insisting they drink together. Jiang Dian curtly told him to get lost.
When the man persisted, asking for his address to escort him home, Jiang Dian reacted violently, subduing him. The man's accomplices then intervened, escalating the situation into a brawl. Eventually, the police arrived and took Jiang Dian and the others to the station. Meanwhile, Lian Ruoshen, having waited until 2 AM for Jiang Dian to return home, was shocked to see his friend bruised and battered.
He initially vowed revenge but quickly realized that only Cheng Feng could hurt Jiang Dian so deeply. Lian Ruoshen advised Jiang Dian against pursuing Cheng Feng, describing her as an "ice mountain" that would only lead to more pain, and suggested that someone gentle and docile like Pei Xiaoyun would be more suitable. Jiang Dian sadly asked if Lian Ruoshen also believed they were incompatible.
Lian Ruoshen then remembered his actual purpose for visiting, sharing two pieces of good news: everyone had passed their exams, meaning their show could proceed, and that Pei Xiaoyun's birthday was tomorrow. He had planned a two-day, one-night party at the Fenglin Mountain scenic spot. Jiang Dian immediately refused to go. Lian Ruoshen tried to tempt him by revealing that Cheng Feng would also be there, but Jiang Dian stubbornly claimed her attendance had no bearing on his decision.
The next day, Lian Ruoshen and Pei Xiaoyun managed to persuade Cheng Feng to join them for the outing. To her surprise, Dai Baoling and Jiang Dian were already at the scenic spot. Dai Baoling quickly clarified to Cheng Feng that Jiang Dian was already waiting there when she arrived, and she kindly offered him a ride to escape the cold.
Lian Ruoshen playfully teased Jiang Dian about his earlier refusal to come, to which Jiang Dian simply replied he had changed his mind, though Lian Ruoshen suspected it was because of Cheng Feng. Their conversation was interrupted when a nanny van almost collided with them. Zhou Yao and his manager, Pang Ting, emerged from the vehicle. Zhou Yao feigned concern for their safety, which nearly provoked a fight with Lian Ruoshen.
Pang Ting, seizing the opportunity, tried to drive a wedge between Cheng Feng and Dai Baoling by insinuating that Dai Baoling had used their friendship for personal gain. Cheng Feng fiercely defended Dai Baoling, telling Pang Ting to stop her dramatic one-woman show. Jiang Dian then intervened, urging everyone to leave to minimize Cheng Feng's interaction with Zhou Yao. To lighten the mood, Lian Ruoshen proposed a paintball game, splitting everyone into pairs.
Dai Baoling approached Cheng Feng, apologizing for secretly hiring online trolls to slander Zhou Yao without telling her, which Pang Ting had discovered. She promised to protect Cheng Feng regardless of who they were paired with. During the draw, Jiang Dian was paired with Li Zikun, while Lian Ruoshen was paired with Dai Baoling. Disgusted, Lian Ruoshen tried to swap with Lu Bie to be with Pei Xiaoyun, declaring his intention to protect her.
Lu Bie refused, and Dai Baoling shot Lian Ruoshen a disapproving look. As the game began, Lian Ruoshen immediately eliminated his teammate Dai Baoling, explaining he had to sacrifice her to protect Pei Xiaoyun. He then playfully cornered Pei Xiaoyun, boasting about his handsomeness and promising her a "win" for an unforgettable birthday. Unexpectedly, Lu Bie eliminated Lian Ruoshen, proudly declaring it a tactical move where Pei Xiaoyun was a decoy.
After several more eliminations, Jiang Dian eliminated Lu Bie, who quipped that friendship was nothing compared to love. To everyone's surprise, Jiang Dian then shot Cheng Feng, eliminating her as well, causing Cheng Feng to angrily throw down her gun. With only Jiang Dian and Pei Xiaoyun remaining, Pei Xiaoyun, fearing she couldn't beat Jiang Dian, considered eliminating herself. Suddenly, she was declared the winner.
It turned out Jiang Dian had eliminated himself, but in doing so, had sustained a cut on his foot and had to walk back to the camp barefoot. Back at the camp, everyone wondered why Cheng Feng hadn't returned. They speculated she might be off healing her emotional wounds. Jiang Dian then arrived barefoot with his injured foot. Realizing Cheng Feng was still missing, everyone split up to search for her. Meanwhile, Cheng Feng encountered Pang Ting by the lake.
Pang Ting continued her provocations, questioning how it felt to be betrayed by a friend. Cheng Feng retorted, warning Pang Ting not to bother her or her friends, stating that Zhou Yao, who might be a treasure to Pang Ting, was utterly worthless to her. As Cheng Feng issued her warning, a piercing sound from a nearby loudspeaker caused her to lose balance and fall into the lake. Pang Ting watched with a triumphant smile.
Jiang Dian, however, arrived just in time, leaping into the cold water to rescue Cheng Feng and giving her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. At the camp, Pei Xiaoyun and Dai Baoling were distraught upon seeing the unconscious Cheng Feng, with Pei Xiaoyun blaming herself. Nearby, Lian Ruoshen and Lu Bie were concerned for Jiang Dian. Lian Ruoshen felt Jiang Dian's unwavering sacrifices for Cheng Feng were not worth it.
Lu Bie, with a more philosophical view, explained that in love, the one who loves more deeply often becomes the humbler one, willing to face even life-threatening danger without hesitation. When Cheng Feng finally regained consciousness, Pei Xiaoyun tearfully told her that Jiang Dian, despite not being a strong swimmer, had risked his life to save her, and that Dai Baoling and Lian Ruoshen had helped pull them out.
Dai Baoling downplayed her role, insisting Jiang Dian deserved the main credit. Cheng Feng, deeply moved by Jiang Dian's selfless act, immediately rushed to his side. Lian Ruoshen, seeing her, urged her not to hurt Jiang Dian again, emphasizing that his heart also felt pain. He and Lu Bie then left, giving them space. Cheng Feng gently caressed Jiang Dian's face, her heart aching for him. Jiang Dian held her hand, asking her to reciprocate his sincere feelings.
Cheng Feng confessed her heart felt empty and might not be able to give him what he wanted. Jiang Dian tenderly promised to fill her heart with his love, vowing that if she would only take one step towards him, he would take the remaining ninety-nine. Cheng Feng, however, replied that it was easy to be moved but difficult to truly love, asking him for more time to consider.
Later, Lian Ruoshen presented Pei Xiaoyun with a birthday gift—a set of hairbands. Pei Xiaoyun was initially touched but then grew angry, discovering the hairbands were not the pink, cute ones Lian Ruoshen had described, and she returned them. The next day, on their way back, Lian Ruoshen continued trying to appease a still-angry Pei Xiaoyun, whose eyes were swollen from crying.
He offered to throw away the hairbands, but she retorted that he was the one who made the mistake, not the accessories. Seeing his sincerity, Pei Xiaoyun finally accepted the gift. Soon after, Pei Xiaoyun received a call, learning that there was a problem with the school anniversary performance costumes and they wouldn't be ready in time for the next day's show. Lian Ruoshen offered to cover the costs, reminding everyone his family owned a mining company.
Pei Xiaoyun was relieved when Dai Baoling stepped in, confidently offering to handle the costume issue. As Dai Baoling left to make arrangements, Lian Ruoshen teasingly commented to Jiang Dian that she was running off with his "wife," to which Jiang Dian responded with a sweet, rare smile. Inside the car, Cheng Feng contemplated her feelings, asking Dai Baoling what would happen if two hedgehogs fell in love.
Dai Baoling asserted her unconditional support for Cheng Feng, prioritizing her friend's well-being above all. The conversation then shifted to Dai Baoling's actions against Zhou Yao. Cheng Feng explained that she wasn't angry about the action itself, but rather that Dai Baoling had hidden it from her, especially knowing how much she detested Zhou Yao. Dai Baoling apologized, admitting she was flustered and fell for Pang Ting's trick because she couldn't stand Zhou Yao's hypocrisy. Cheng Feng accepted her apology and asked Dai Baoling to make amends by accompanying her to a psychologist.
