He Chufeng successfully unlocked the warehouse door, which also seemed to unlock a burden in his heart. That night, he dreamt of his mother and He Chunian. His mother reassured him that none of it was his fault and that everything would be alright. She promised that he would find love and love others in return, ultimately living the life he desired. He Chufeng murmured in his sleep, repeating, "I'll live the life I want."

Meanwhile, Sui Yi and Luo Bin stayed by his bedside, watching over him throughout the night. News reports confirmed that Min, the suspect involved in the Caixin Pay bubble incident and the intentional arson, had been arrested and detained according to law. Lily, having fully seen through Fu Shuai's manipulative nature, decided to return home to regroup and embrace a better life.

As Luo Bin offered to drive her, Lily spoke about Fu Shuai facing a three-to-five-year sentence, but she declared it no longer concerned her. She reflected on her past foolishness, believing his love was genuine, only to realize he used and controlled her, constantly belittling her. Luo Bin affirmed she was not lame, and Lily, empowered, stated she was good and would return stronger. After thanking them, Lily departed.

Luo Bin mused on Lily’s past, her habit of bringing him bags for authentication, yet clinging to fake ones given by Fu Shuai. He understood she wasn't truly naive; she simply sought someone to shield her from life's storms, only to discover that person was the source of all her troubles. Yet, even in illusions, a sliver of truth and fleeting warmth in a cold, endless winter could be precious.

Sui Yi confided in Chen Xiaoyuan and Jia Xiaoguo about her feelings for He Chufeng. Chen Xiaoyuan encouraged her to bravely confess, emphasizing that finding someone you like is rare. Jia Xiaoguo insisted the man should take the initiative, but Chen Xiaoyuan countered that in this day and age, who cares who confesses first? Sui Yi, however, worried about He Chufeng's feelings.

Chen Xiaoyuan outlined three possible outcomes: if he liked her, they would happily get together; if he didn't, he might accept out of politeness, leading to an awkward relationship; or if he rejected her, they might not even remain friends, and she would have to move out of the vintage store, incurring significant costs for rent, moving, and new furniture. Chen Xiaoyuan and Jia Xiaoguo were amused by Sui Yi's practical, precise calculations for such an emotional decision.

Later, after Zheng Xingchuan had messaged her, Sui Yi was on the phone, expressing her frustration to someone about how difficult it was to decipher a man's intentions. Luo Bin also took an interest in He Chufeng and Sui Yi's burgeoning romance. Noticing He Chufeng’s hesitant demeanor, Luo Bin playfully suggested that Christmas was approaching, an excellent opportunity to act, or “even Cupid wouldn't be able to shoot you.”

He Chufeng asked how to get Cupid's arrow to hit him, prompting Luo Bin to launch into "Mr. Robin's class" on confessions. He explained that the approach should be tailored to the girl's personality. For an enthusiastic girl, a grand, public spectacle with flowers, gifts, music, and candlelight would be ideal. He Chufeng noted Sui Yi wasn't like that.

Luo Bin then described a scene for a delicate and sensitive girl: a private, intimate setting where, as night falls and the city glows, He Chufeng would gently call Sui Yi's name, slowly approach her, hold her hands, gaze into her eyes, and amidst the quiet stillness, utter the words of confession. Just as he was vividly detailing the romantic scene, Sui Yi unexpectedly walked in, interrupting him mid-sentence. He Chufeng blurted out, “I’m back.”

Sui Yi asked what they were doing, and Luo Bin quickly denied anything suspicious. Sui Yi then invited He Chufeng to decorate the Christmas tree with her, prompting Luo Bin to make a swift exit. Later, He Chufeng couldn't resist asking Luo Bin if he thought Sui Yi liked him.

Luo Bin, initially evasive, finally admitted he was just testing He Chufeng earlier and advised him to "just wait and see" and "be yourself," because "someone who likes you will like you no matter what you do." He Chufeng realized Luo Bin had been trying to gauge his feelings. Luo Bin, with a mischievous grin, threatened to call He Chufeng’s ex-deskmate, causing He Chufeng to quickly apologize and beg Luo Bin for help in pursuing Sui Yi.

A short while later, Chen Xiaoyuan questioned He Chufeng and Luo Bin about their actions towards Sui Yi, mentioning that Sui Yi was now looking to move. Soon after, a large package arrived for Sui Yi. Luo Bin opened it to reveal a large teddy bear and a card from Zheng Xingchuan. The note read: "Dear Yisi, I'm sorry I can't be with you for the time being. Let this spend this winter with you for me. I miss you.

By the way, there's a hidden surprise. Look for it. Yours, Zheng Xingchuan." The bear also had a voice function, wishing "Good morning, Yisi" and "Good night, Yisi." He Chufeng looked visibly displeased. Luo Bin remarked that the bear seemed to be laughing at them, especially He Chufeng, noting how the bear's smile, aided by Zheng Xingchuan's uniform in the attached photo, seemed even more charming. He Chufeng defensively mentioned he also owned a suit.

Luo Bin dismissed his suit as insufficient, declaring that Zheng Xingchuan clearly had romantic intentions toward Sui Yi. He Chufeng brought up Sui Yi's assertion that Zheng Xingchuan was just a childhood friend she practiced martial arts with. Luo Bin countered that a woman's words shouldn't always be fully trusted, warning He Chufeng that Zheng Xingchuan was a formidable rival with bad intentions.

He urged He Chufeng to be on "level one alert" and to act, or else "next time, the one sitting here will not be this bear." Luo Bin then told He Chufeng to wear his suit. Upon returning home, Sui Yi saw the large bear and initially assumed He Chufeng and Luo Bin had bought it. However, He Chufeng's sullen expression made her realize it was from Zheng Xingchuan. She appeared a bit embarrassed by the overly conspicuous gift.

Clearly upset, He Chufeng declared their cooking pot broken and told them to sort out their own dinner. Luo Bin simply advised ordering takeout, stating he couldn't help. Sui Yi later called Zheng Xingchuan, expressing her embarrassment over the "exaggerated" gift, noting that "everyone saw it." Luo Bin and He Chufeng were caught eavesdropping outside her door, pretending to check "safety measures" and lightbulbs. Luo Bin directly questioned Sui Yi about Zheng Xingchuan.

Sui Yi explained that he was a childhood friend. She reminisced about his transformation from being fat to handsome, prompting Luo Bin to playfully ask if she preferred "fat boys." Growing increasingly uncomfortable, Sui Yi told them it was "just a gift for the festival" and to "not think too much." Luo Bin slyly remarked that he hadn't said anything, implying He Chufeng’s unspoken disapproval.

Later that night, He Chufeng took out his frustration on the bear, playfully punching and kicking it, demanding if it was "convinced" and warning it not to "tell on him." The next morning, as He Chufeng sat at the table, Sui Yi came downstairs and commented that the bear was "too obvious." While He Chufeng agreed, Sui Yi still found it "pretty," though she admitted it took up too much space.

He Chufeng eagerly offered to call a "garbage recycling, on-site service" to dispose of it. However, Sui Yi decided to keep it, considering it "a token of appreciation." To He Chufeng's delight, Sui Yi then asked him if he wanted to have dinner together that evening, instantly lifting his spirits.

For the evening date, He Chufeng carefully selected a suit, but Luo Bin quickly mocked his choice, asking if he was going for a job interview or if the law firm was hiring locksmiths. Luo Bin insisted that He Chufeng's "simple suit" couldn't compare to Zheng Xingchuan's "ultimate level uniform" and urged him to change. He Chufeng then switched to his usual, more casual attire, which Luo Bin approved.

Luo Bin inquired about their dinner plans, and He Chufeng admitted Sui Yi had asked him out, but he hadn't made any reservations, simply saying, "Let it be." After this, He Chufeng seemed to have second thoughts and decided to change out of even the casual clothes. As He Chufeng passed a flower shop, the vendor asked if he wanted to buy flowers, but He Chufeng declined, remembering Zheng Xingchuan’s grand gesture.

He arrived punctually at Sui Yi's law firm, waiting downstairs. Meanwhile, inside, Sui Yi's colleague teasingly remarked that Sui Yi, dressed so nicely, must be rushing off for a date, but Sui Yi denied it. Just as Sui Yi was preparing to leave, her boss approached with an urgent task that "must be done" that night, asking her to stay and work overtime. Sui Yi called her mother, apologizing that she would be late for dinner.

She then called He Chufeng, explaining the unexpected workload and that it would take a long time, suggesting he go home first. She worried he might be angry, but He Chufeng remained waiting downstairs.
