Luo Bin directly asked He Chufeng if he was interested in women like Sui Yi. He Chufeng remained silent, so Luo Bin encouraged him to pursue true love, advising him to open his eyes because the person he liked might like him back. He Chufeng replied enigmatically that he was just a fox taming Luo Bin. Meanwhile, Wang Wenxin arrived in a hurry. Li Yun apologized to him, admitting that she had used him during her most sorrowful period.

She explained that when they first met, she was at her lowest, having broken up with a serious boyfriend and then enduring the death of her teacher, Professor Jiang, in a car accident on the way to an orphanage. It was Wang Wenxin who comforted her by telling her about parallel worlds, and she selfishly leaned on him through her most difficult time.

Wang Wenxin asked if she had ever liked him, to which Li Yun replied that it no longer mattered. She praised him as a very good and simple person who deserved a better life. She encouraged Wang Wenxin to be himself, not to care about others' opinions. She thanked He Chufeng and Luo Bin for helping her take this step to start over.

She declared that her past identities, Li Yun and Olive, were behind her, and she now wanted to find her future self. She also hoped that Wang Wenxin and He Chufeng could both move forward and let go of their pasts. Wang Wenxin did not immediately chase after Li Yun, believing he had no chance because she didn't love him.

He held up a key, stating it was for her apartment door, a door he felt she always kept him locked out of due to deep misunderstandings. He Chufeng told Wang Wenxin that the door was never truly locked; it was Wang Wenxin himself who had kept himself outside. Realizing this, Wang Wenxin found his courage and ran after Li Yun.

He caught up to her and asked if she would accompany him to an aerospace exhibition the next day, stating his desire to truly understand her. Li Yun smiled and readily agreed. Later, Sui Yi's boss, Mr. Su, praised her competence, noting Mr. Jin, the client from the Qianhe Art Museum, expressed his satisfaction with the successful acquisition of the artwork. This made Sui Yi very happy.

As a token of gratitude, Mr. Jin gave He Chufeng a magpie lock from the art gallery. He Chufeng learned that the curator had bought it years ago from a powerful locksmith but didn't know the locksmith's name. Holding the lock, He Chufeng felt he had completed another task assigned by his master. He then found his master’s current address, noting that his master still lived in the same place and looked much the same, though his hair was longer.

A flashback to ten years earlier showed He Chufeng at Gu's Lock Shop, learning from his master. He Chufeng once told his master he had opened a lock in five minutes, though it could have been done in three, because he worried the client would think it was too easy. His master advised him that a locksmith's value should not be judged by others.

Sui Yi had been reflecting on He Chufeng's earlier confession to Li Yun, where he revealed he had witnessed his mother's death. She had been avoiding He Chufeng due to guilt, as she had previously, and thoughtlessly, asked him about his parents. When He Chufeng encountered her while grocery shopping and sensed her unusual behavior, he asked if she pitied him, assuring her it was unnecessary. Sui Yi clarified that she didn't pity him but felt deep guilt.

She explained that she could only imagine the pain he felt when recounting his mother's death and her own inability to respond appropriately at the time made her feel remorseful. He Chufeng reassured her that his past and his sadness were his own, unconnected to her, and she bore no responsibility or need for apology. He didn't want it to become a burden between them.

He then stated that friendship didn't need to be forced, and Sui Yi, relieved, eagerly affirmed that she still wanted to be friends, grabbing his arm. As they walked, a child suddenly darted between them. Back at their apartment, He Chufeng discovered that his new magpie lock was missing. Luo Bin and Sui Yi were worried. He Chufeng remained calm, observing that the child who bumped into them earlier had been too composed.

Sui Yi suggested the person had no ill intentions, and He Chufeng stated that the person would appear on their own. The next morning, Sui Yi, still half-asleep, mistakenly walked into the bathroom where He Chufeng was showering. Startled by the sight of him, she ran out in a panic. At breakfast, He Chufeng, observing Luo Bin and Sui Yi chatting happily, became silently jealous and even threw away his bread.

Throughout the day, Sui Yi couldn't stop hiccupping, seemingly due to the shock from He Chufeng's "tempting" scene. Luo Bin, noticing her persistent hiccups, suggested various remedies, from drinking water to holding her breath and pressing acupressure points, but nothing worked. He jokingly asked if she had seen anything "stimulating," which made Sui Yi recall the "tempting" sight of He Chufeng from the morning, and she tried to suppress a smile while denying it.

Luo Bin then suggested that Sui Yi let him startle her or even hit her to stop the hiccups, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. Sui Yi, desperate, even tried putting her head in the refrigerator. Just then, He Chufeng appeared, stared intently at her for a few seconds, and her hiccups immediately stopped. The intense eye contact left Sui Yi with a lingering impression.

Later, as Sui Yi and Luo Bin were taking out the trash, Sui Yi spotted the child who had bumped into them earlier, recognizing him as the one who likely stole He Chufeng's magpie lock. She immediately chased after the child, with a bewildered Luo Bin following close behind. Their pursuit led them to the police station again, where they realized they had left He Chufeng at home.

After He Chufeng arrived, the girl insisted on seeing him, asking why he had only now come to meet her, prompting Luo Bin and Sui Yi to jokingly wonder if she was his illegitimate child. Previously, this same girl had approached He Chufeng, wanting him to teach her locksmithing, but he had refused.
