Han Qilu struggled with his feelings, wanting to be intimate with An Chuxia. To control his desires, he repeatedly took cold showers, much to An Chuxia's amusement. Later, after his shower, Han Qilu found An Chuxia asleep. He gently covered her with a blanket and overheard her mumbling in her sleep, "Qilu, don't go." Han Qilu reassured her, "I'm not going. I will never leave," feeling touched.
The next morning, An Chuxia woke up and was delighted to see Han Qilu sleeping on the sofa. Admiring his handsome face, she thought to herself how could there be such a handsome person in the world. As she watched him, Han Qilu murmured in his sleep about when their "probation period" would end and when they would "get back together." An Chuxia playfully woke him, and he noticed her blushing, teasing her about her ears and neck turning red.
He suggested they enter school ten minutes apart to avoid rumors. Meanwhile, at the dormitory, the supervisor arrived, noting that An Chuxia hadn't checked in the previous night and suspected she had stayed out. Bai Qiuzi, despite disliking An Chuxia, reluctantly tried to cover for her at Han Qilu's request. However, the supervisor pulled back An Chuxia's blanket, only to be terrified by a snake and flee, abandoning the inspection.
Later, the students were discussing the upcoming "school inspection," which required everyone to submit an assignment they should have completed over the summer. The purpose of the inspection was to find out those who got in through connections and kick them out. An Chuxia was completely unaware of this, leading some classmates to mock her, calling her "stupid" and "lazy," and questioning how she gained admission to the elite school.
The teacher formally announced that the school inspection was a long-standing tradition at Sheng De College. Failure to submit or pass the inspection would result in expulsion. An Chuxia, realizing her predicament, became extremely worried. Li Shendong also became anxious, wanting to help An Chuxia avoid being expelled. An Chuxia was visibly distressed over her inability to create an acceptable design for the inspection. Seeing her struggle, Nangong Yin and her friends approached, ridiculing An Chuxia and predicting her expulsion.
Just then, Li Shendong intervened, loudly declaring he would help An Chuxia. He then announced his formal transfer to the design department to everyone's surprise. An Chuxia later spoke to Han Qilu, firmly declining any special treatment or "backdoor" assistance, asserting her disdain for "rich kids who are ignorant and incompetent" and her desire to succeed independently. Han Qilu respected her resolve, stating he'd let her handle it herself.
Returning to her dorm, An Chuxia discovered that Bai Qiuzi had been relocated, and Ming Yuan was her new roommate. Ming Yuan explained that despite their outward displays of arrogance, students from wealthy families like Nangong Yin worked diligently behind the scenes to maintain an image of effortless success, making An Chuxia realize the hidden pressures faced by the elite. Despite her efforts, An Chuxia continued to struggle with her project.
Nangong Yin and others took the opportunity to ridicule her. Ming Yuan suggested she seek inspiration from "people close to you." Ming Yuan gave water to Mr. Guo, which An Chuxia found funny. An Chuxia told Han Qilu that she thought Ming Yuan and Mr. Guo were together. An Chuxia updated Han Qilu, confirming her school inspection work was "almost done" with the help of Ming Yuan and Li Shendong.
Hearing Li Shendong's name, Han Qilu immediately displayed signs of jealousy. An Chuxia didn't understand why Han Qilu was often moody, but Ming Yuan explained that it was because Han Qilu cared too much for An Chuxia. During the inspection presentation, a teacher praised several works, including An Chuxia's and Ming Yuan's, for their "new ideas and genuineness." Nangong Yin voiced skepticism about An Chuxia's achievement.
An Chuxia then elaborated on her work: "Superficially, I did a painting of the Laurel Tree Goddess Daphne. But what I actually wanted to convey is the one who suffers a curse and keeps pursuing her yet never got her, the god of the sun, Apollo." She openly credited Li Shendong as her inspiration, which delighted him so much that he hugged her right there in class.
Following the presentation, the teacher assigned An Chuxia to help the newly transferred Li Shendong with his studies. Later, during a tutoring session, Li Shendong struggled to thread a needle. An Chuxia leaned in close to demonstrate, a moment that Han Qilu witnessed as he walked in, prompting him to angrily call out her name.
