The Demon Master Episode 29 Recap
> The Demon Master Recap
An Chuxia realized that she and Han Qilu could not truly be together until he regained his memories. To jog his memory, she took him to the site of their car accident, explaining that this was where the accident occurred, and where he had saved her life, hoping that being there would trigger his recollection. As she walked towards the middle of the road, a car sped towards her, nearly hitting her.
Han Qilu quickly pulled her to safety, but his memories remained elusive. Shaken, An Chuxia clung to Han Qilu, expressing her fear. He reassured her, and they decided to return to their car. As they prepared to drive home, their car ran out of gas, and their phones had no signal, leaving them stranded in the wilderness for the night.
An Chuxia apologized profusely, feeling responsible for their predicament, but Han Qilu was unconcerned, suggesting they simply treat it as a camping trip, a rare chance to enjoy the stars. They heard animal howls, which An Chuxia found frightening, but Han Qilu reassured her. An Chuxia then began teaching him about constellations, pointing out Ursa Major, also known as the Big Dipper, and its proximity to Leo and Cancer.
Han Qilu was impressed, and An Chuxia revealed that he had taught her all these facts before his memory loss, making him boast about how knowledgeable he must have been at twenty. As the night grew colder and the car doors couldn't be closed due to the dead battery, Han Qilu noticed An Chuxia shivering. He offered to hold her, saying his arms were longer and it would keep them warmer, promising to protect her.
An Chuxia and Han Qilu arrived home at dawn, just as Han Qilu's Grandma was departing for an overseas business trip, which meant she would no longer interfere in Han Qilu's romantic life. Grandma expressed her relief that they were back but added that she had no time to lecture them.
An Chuxia wished Grandma a smooth trip, and Grandma then instructed An Chuxia to take good care of Han Qilu, joking about their emotional farewell and assuring them she would return quickly. As Grandma left, she enthusiastically declared herself free and instructed her assistant to arrange a mah-jong game with Mrs. Zhang. Meanwhile, other house members questioned An Chuxia and Han Qilu about their disheveled appearance and their whereabouts, but the two simply expressed their exhaustion and went to bed.
Later, Han Qilu, still fascinated by astronomy, pressed An Chuxia for more knowledge, bringing up Kepler-B22 and its potential for life. An Chuxia, caught off guard, promised to tell him more the following night, secretly struggling to recall or research the information. Driven by Han Qilu's newfound interest in astronomy and her desire not to disappoint him, An Chuxia spent her time secretly researching topics like Kepler-B22 in the library.
She lamented her declining knowledge in the subject, recalling her extensive understanding before college entrance exams. Her studies were interrupted when a classmate informed her that Li Shen Dong was looking for her. She found Li Shen Dong, who was playfully trying to pick a fight, much to the amusement of other students who wanted to see him "get a beating."
An Chuxia, however, dismissed the commotion, stating she needed to focus on astronomy, and asked Bai Qiuzi to keep Li Shen Dong busy. Later, Han Qilu found An Chuxia and pressed her with more astronomical questions. An Chuxia, still struggling to find answers, spotted Li Shen Dong and tried to enlist his help to distract Han Qilu, admitting she hadn't figured out 'that 22B thing' yet. Li Shen Dong then tried to engage Han Qilu.
Soon after, Han Qilu confronted An Chuxia, accusing her of being a liar because she couldn't answer basic questions about the sun and moon's gravity and orbits, despite claiming to like astronomy. Seizing the opportunity, Qin Qing, who was nearby, invited Han Qilu to watch the stars in her room that night.
Rumors began circulating at school that Han Qilu had dumped An Chuxia because of her illegitimate status and that Qin Qing had usurped her position as Han Qilu's girlfriend. Furious, Qin Qing tracked the source of the rumors, discovering they originated from a note written by Ming Yuan. Qin Qing then confronted Ming Yuan in front of An Chuxia and Han Qilu, presenting the note as evidence and accusing Ming Yuan of intentionally spreading falsehoods to frame her.
Ming Yuan claimed she had heard that evidence was found in Qin Qing's bag and only wanted to help An Chuxia. Qin Qing questioned how Ming Yuan knew this, suspecting she was being set up. Ming Yuan vehemently denied any ill intent, stating An Chuxia was her good friend and she would never harm her, explaining she overheard An Chuxia and Han Qilu talking in the library.
An Chuxia, despite her initial defense of Ming Yuan and an apology to Qin Qing for previous misunderstandings, began to doubt Ming Yuan. Qin Qing dismissed An Chuxia's apology, insisting she only wanted to clear her name, and declared the matter "not done yet." At this point, Han Qilu interjected, suggesting that An Chuxia and Ming Yuan were friends because they both liked him.
When An Chuxia challenged him, Han Qilu revealed that Ming Yuan had previously claimed to be his fiancée. Ming Yuan tried to dismiss it as an unintentional remark, but Han Qilu insisted she had meant it. An Chuxia felt a growing suspicion but hesitated to confront Ming Yuan directly, fearing she would uncover a truth that would disappoint her.
Later, An Chuxia discussed the situation with another student, admitting she was confused by Ming Yuan's intentions, given her apparent feelings for Han Qilu. With Valentine's Day approaching, students were abuzz with confessions and chocolate gifts. Bai Qiuzi, unable to conceal her affection for Feng Shao, was practicing her confession. Bai Xue unexpectedly discovered Bai Qiuzi hiding a gift in Feng Shao's wardrobe, immediately deducing her feelings.
Bai Qiuzi sought her aunt, Bai Xue's opinion on Feng Shao, to which Bai Xue acknowledged his good qualities, noting his handsomeness and humor. However, Bai Xue then sternly warned Bai Qiuzi that their family would never accept someone as ordinary as Feng Shao, emphasizing the importance of being realistic. Bai Qiuzi angrily dismissed her aunt's pragmatism, questioning if background and wealth were truly so vital.
Bai Xue insisted they had no choice, urging Bai Qiuzi not to make the same mistake as her, having once believed she could defy fate and now still waiting. Bai Qiuzi accused Bai Xue of letting her own unhappiness tarnish the concept of love, and told her to stop interfering in her affairs.
This entire conversation was overheard by Feng Shao, who was visibly disheartened by Bai Xue's words, as he also harbored feelings for Bai Qiuzi but felt his modest background made him unworthy of her. On Valentine's Day, Bai Qiuzi bravely confessed her feelings to Feng Shao and offered him chocolates, but he gently refused, claiming he only saw her as a friend.
Bai Qiuzi, heartbroken, insisted that he would come to the cinema to meet her, asserting she would wait there. Later, Bai Qiuzi called Feng Shao, reiterating her commitment to wait for him at the theater, even if it meant waiting indefinitely. Meanwhile, both Qin Qing and An Chuxia had prepared chocolates for Han Qilu, intending to confess their love.
An Chuxia, still upset that Han Qilu was disappointed in her about astronomy, had also seen Qin Qing trying to lure him away. When An Chuxia saw Qin Qing dressed as Juliet, reciting Shakespeare and making a grand confession to Han Qilu, who she addressed as her Romeo, An Chuxia prepared to intervene with Li Shen Dong's help, but he got distracted.
Qin Qing and An Chuxia then confronted each other, agreeing to a wager: Han Qilu would choose one of their chocolates, and the recipient would get to go on a date with him, while the other would concede. Han Qilu, still holding a grudge against An Chuxia for her perceived deception regarding astronomy, rejected her chocolate, stating he hadn't forgiven her so quickly. He then accepted Qin Qing's confession, telling her to inform his Grandma of his choice.
Qin Qing, delighted, called Han Qilu's decision "wise" and declared to An Chuxia that she and Han Qilu were immediately going on a date. Qin Qing and Han Qilu arrived at a theater. Qin Qing expressed her desire to keep their date discreet to avoid An Chuxia. An Chuxia, however, soon discovered them there, surprised, as Han Qilu had previously discussed going to a planetarium.
Qin Qing dismissed An Chuxia, claiming drama could "purify the soul" and hurried Han Qilu inside. On stage, Qin Qing emotionally embraced Han Qilu, reciting lines about her efforts to stay by his side and asking him to hold her tight. Just then, An Chuxia dramatically burst in, shouting at Qin Qing to release her man.
