Qin Qing performed a violin piece for everyone and confidently declared she would be Qilu's future wife. An Chuxia, unable to bear it, confronted Grandma. She reminded Grandma that Qilu and she truly loved each other and questioned how Grandma could allow Qilu to marry another woman. Grandma then directly asked Qilu if he loved An Chuxia. Qilu, not remembering their past, simply replied, "No." Taking this as reason, Grandma announced the formal cancellation of Qilu and An Chuxia's engagement.
Grandma then instructed Qilu to greet his "fiancée," indicating Qin Qing, but Qilu refused, stating he didn't like her and didn't want to marry her. He turned to leave, calling out for Li Shendong. Seeing Qilu's unusual behavior, Grandma immediately questioned Han Qilu's mother. Qilu's mother, having no other choice, revealed that Qilu had suffered brain damage during a car accident on the engagement day and now acted like a child.
She explained that she had hidden this from Grandma due to her heart condition, fearing she couldn't handle the shock. Grandma reproached Qilu's mother for not taking better care of her son, emphasizing Qilu's importance as the heir to Han's Corporation. An Chuxia tried to speak up for Qilu's mother, but this inadvertently revealed that she had been with Qilu at the time of the accident.
Grandma then blamed An Chuxia entirely for Qilu's condition, accusing her of causing such a grave misfortune and questioning her audacity to remain in the Han family home. An Chuxia attempted to explain, but Grandma silenced her. Qin Qing, feeling deeply remorseful for causing Qilu's accident and amnesia because she couldn't accept his engagement to An Chuxia and had arranged for them to be kidnapped from their wedding, wanted to tell Grandma the truth.
However, An Chuxia pulled her aside before she could speak. Qin Qing explained that despite their rivalry, she couldn't allow An Chuxia to take the blame for her actions. An Chuxia, knowing how much Grandma adored Qin Qing, urged her not to reveal the truth, arguing that Grandma's heart couldn't withstand the shock of learning that Qin Qing was responsible for Qilu's amnesia.
Grandma ordered An Chuxia to move out of the Han family home, with maids already packing her belongings, and simultaneously invited Qin Qing to move in. Qin Qing, feeling deeply remorseful, pleaded with Grandma to allow An Chuxia to stay so they could live together and engage in a fair competition for Qilu's affection. Qilu's mother protested, arguing that Qin Qing, as Grandma's preferred choice, shouldn't need to compete. However, Qilu himself expressed a childlike eagerness to witness a competition.
Grandma, after confirming Qin Qing's resolve, agreed to the arrangement. Qin Qing, now registered in the art department alongside An Chuxia, intensified their rivalry. Li Shendong asked Qilu to declare his support, but Qilu stated he liked neither of them and, annoyingly, wanted to see An Chuxia lose, for which Li Shendong made him apologize. The two rivals then started a series of competitions.
For the first challenge, drawing, Qilu gave the theme: "A fiancée stuck in a black hole, gone forever." Qin Qing, despite boasting about her art background, confessed she was actually terrible at drawing and used a computer to create a fantastical image of M78. Qilu dismissed it, saying M78 was Ultraman's home. An Chuxia, in contrast, painted a beautiful sea, reminiscent of Angel Coast, where she and Qilu had escaped on their engagement day.
She spoke of their shared memories and a wish they made to be together forever, promising to wait for him to remember her. Qilu, however, dismissed her heartfelt painting as "story-writing." When pressed to choose, Qilu seemed inclined towards Qin Qing's offering, but Li Shendong urged him to think carefully, leading Qilu to choose neither. The competition continued with a game of table tennis, during which An Chuxia accidentally hit Qilu in the nose.
In the resting room, An Chuxia came across Han Qilu's bag. Out of curiosity, she looked inside to confirm it was his and discovered a broken telescope, which Ming Yuan had given him earlier. As she examined it, Qilu walked in, and upon seeing An Chuxia in her gym attire, he immediately got a nosebleed. Distraught, Qilu accused An Chuxia of carelessly breaking his beloved telescope.
Ming Yuan soon arrived and, feigning concern, subtly planted the idea that An Chuxia might have intentionally broken the expensive, discontinued telescope out of jealousy, given their past relationship. Qilu, taking her words literally, declared that An Chuxia had "killed his telescope." Despite Ming Yuan's pretended reluctance for him to confront An Chuxia, Qilu believed the manipulation and vowed to hold An Chuxia accountable.
Qin Qing, having witnessed Ming Yuan's deceptive performance, recognized her talent but chose not to expose her. Instead, Qin Qing invited Ming Yuan to join her news agency, praising her talent. However, Ming Yuan declined, stating she had no interest in allying with a rival and preferred to pursue Qilu on her own terms. Meanwhile, Qilu was found burying his broken telescope.
An Chuxia approached him to apologize again and suggested repairing it, as Li Shendong had found a repair shop. Qilu, however, refused to believe her, accusing her of deliberately breaking his favorite item and suggesting she only wanted to repair it to break it again.
He then formally informed An Chuxia that her maid status was revoked and ordered her to pack her belongings and leave the house immediately, declaring that the one who "killed" his telescope could not reside under his roof. Heartbroken, An Chuxia went to a bar that night to drown her sorrows. Li Shendong found a heavily intoxicated An Chuxia at the bar, who, even in her stupor, kept calling out for Han Qilu and expressing how much she missed him.
Li Shendong brought her back to Qilu's house. At the doorstep, he confronted Qilu, urging him not to drive An Chuxia away and reminding him that she was the most important person in his life. Qilu, however, stubbornly insisted that his telescope was more important. After Li Shendong left, Qilu complained about his friend's anger, attributing it to An Chuxia.
As Qilu helped An Chuxia inside, the alcohol made her hallucinate, causing her to perceive the current Qilu as the affectionate Qilu she once knew. Believing he had remembered her and was "awake," she impulsively kissed him.
