The Demon Master Episode 25 Recap
> The Demon Master Recap
Kou Yi provided Ming Yuan with doctored photos, stating it was the last time he would assist her. He advised Ming Yuan to give up if this attempt failed, reassuring her that he would always be by her side. Ming Yuan, however, was dismissive of his warning, confident that she would not fail. Later, Ming Yuan took Han Qilu to a tower near the school, initially misleading him about the destination.
She then showed him the doctored photos, claiming he had proposed to her at that very spot. Han Qilu immediately recognized the deceit, pointing out that the tower in the photo was the Tower of London, which he had seen in a travel magazine, and distinctly different from their current location. He also noted that he would never wear such flashy clothing. Ming Yuan, flustered, had no choice but to admit she had made a mistake.
Annoyed, Han Qilu left to find Li Shendong. Li Shendong, attempting to evade Han Qilu, had moved into the dormitories, telling his friend Feng Shao that "the most dangerous place is the safest." He also specified that while An Chuxia was like a sister to him, Han Qilu was merely a "disagreeable brother-in-law." Li Shendong strictly instructed Feng Shao not to reveal his new location to Han Qilu. However, Han Qilu soon appeared, seemingly aware of Li Shendong's whereabouts.
Han Qilu found Li Shendong happily singing in the shower and, to Li Shendong's horror, entered the bathroom and began scrubbing his back. Terrified, Li Shendong screamed and hid in a closet, realizing Feng Shao had betrayed him. An Chuxia, witnessing Li Shendong's distress, sympathized with him. She tried to persuade Han Qilu to leave Li Shendong alone, listing Li Shendong's perceived faults, such as being loud, uncultured, and a big eater.
Han Qilu, however, defended Li Shendong, telling An Chuxia not to insult him, and then accused An Chuxia of being bothersome and told her to stop following him. Meanwhile, Qin Qing, a new student, established the first Drama Club at Sheng De school. She intentionally approached An Chuxia, informing her of her new enrollment. Quoting Shakespeare, Qin Qing dramatically declared her love for Han Qilu and stated he would eventually be hers, effectively issuing a challenge to An Chuxia.
An Chuxia, taken aback, asked if this was a declaration of war, to which Qin Qing confidently replied, "Bye, my enemy." Ming Yuan approached Han Qilu and gifted him a rare, out-of-production telescope that she knew he desired. When Han Qilu offered to pay her, Ming Yuan suggested he simply buy her an ice cream in return. Later, Han Qilu presented Ming Yuan with an ice cream, completely disregarding An Chuxia's presence, which left An Chuxia feeling deeply frustrated.
An Chuxia conversed with a friend about Qin Qing's transfer to their school, expressing worry about Qin Qing's strange behavior and potential to harm Han Qilu. Han Qilu then left to enjoy his new telescope. Upon An Chuxia's return to the Han family residence, Han Qilu's mother had the housekeeper instruct her to change into a nice outfit to meet an "important figure" from the Han family. It was Han Qilu's grandmother, who had unexpectedly arrived.
An Chuxia, nervous and dressed in a small gown, hoped to make a good impression. During the introduction, Han Qilu's mother presented An Chuxia as his granddaughter-in-law. Han Qilu simply greeted his grandmother without acknowledging An Chuxia's title, then childishly refused to drink tea, calling it "awful," which his mother excused as stress from managing the company. Grandma, however, suggested hiring a professional manager and revealed that her visit was to discuss Han Qilu's marriage.
Han Qilu's mother attempted to defend the engagement, noting An Chuxia had lived with them for years and they had good feelings. Grandma stated her dissatisfaction. Han Qilu then echoed her sentiment, telling his mother not to listen to "Ming Yuan's nonsense," stating An Chuxia was not his fiancée but his "maid." Grandma, agreeing with Han Qilu's clarity, then openly disparaged An Chuxia, having investigated her background, calling her a "female hooligan" from a poor family.
Han Qilu's mother again tried to defend An Chuxia, mentioning her reconciliation with her father made the Jiang and Han families a suitable match. However, Grandma was unimpressed, calling An Chuxia a "sparrow" who could never become a "phoenix," and unequivocally declared An Chuxia unworthy of Han Qilu and the Han family. Overwhelmed by the harsh words, An Chuxia was heartbroken.
Han Qilu then explicitly agreed with his grandmother, asking if this meant An Chuxia would not be his fiancée, and enthusiastically supported the decision, much to An Chuxia's dismay. Han Qilu's mother later comforted a despondent An Chuxia, advising her not to lose hope and promising to share ways to win Grandma's approval. Knowing Grandma's birthday was approaching, An Chuxia woke early to prepare breakfast for everyone.
However, Grandma remained indifferent, criticizing An Chuxia for performing "menial jobs" like a maid instead of first attending to her "husband's life," reiterating her disdain for An Chuxia's humble origins as a "girl raised in an alleyway." Han Qilu then asked Grandma what she wanted for her birthday, offering his pocket money. Grandma announced she wanted to give "him" a present: a new friend.
Ming Yuan arrived at the Han residence, thanking An Chuxia for the invitation and asking An Chuxia to deliver a gift to Grandma on her behalf, which An Chuxia readily accepted. Li Shendong, observing Ming Yuan's actions, tried to warn An Chuxia about Ming Yuan's insincere intentions, but he was interrupted as Han Qilu and Grandma emerged.
During the birthday banquet, Han Qilu's mother encouraged An Chuxia to act as the host, hoping to showcase her as someone presentable in public and capable in domestic affairs to Grandma. An Chuxia began by wishing Grandma a happy birthday, but Grandma sarcastically remarked on the "maid's" eloquence. Grandma then took the stage, announcing that her granddaughter-in-law had prepared a special performance. An Chuxia was confused, as she had arranged no such thing.
Unexpectedly, Qin Qing appeared, performing a violin piece and boldly declaring herself Han Qilu's future wife. An Chuxia could no longer bear it; she confronted Grandma, accusing her of separating her and Han Qilu, who, she claimed, loved each other deeply. Grandma then turned to Han Qilu and publicly asked if he loved An Chuxia. Having no memory of their past together due to his amnesia, Han Qilu shook his head and said, "I don't." Based on his answer, Grandma officially announced the cancellation of Han Qilu and An Chuxia's engagement.
