The Demon Master Episode 21 Recap
> The Demon Master Recap
Kou Yi helped Ming Yuan take the unconscious Han Qilu to a hotel. Ming Yuan remarked that Han Qilu got drunk so easily. Kou Yi tried to persuade Ming Yuan to leave, but she refused, pulling out a syringe. Kou Yi accused her of being crazy, realizing she intended to use the syringe to create a false impression of having slept with Han Qilu.
Ming Yuan, however, was resolute, declaring that she needed nothing else but Han Qilu, and he was all she wanted. She then questioned Kou Yi, asking if he couldn't grant her this one small wish, despite claiming to love her. Defeated, Kou Yi eventually relented, wishing her happiness and apologizing before leaving. The next morning, Han Qilu awoke in a panic, discovering Ming Yuan beside him in bed.
Ming Yuan, feigning distress, explained that they had only had a few drinks the previous night when he became heavily intoxicated. She claimed she had no choice but to bring him to the hotel for rest and expressed regret that things had gone so far. Han Qilu, disturbed, asked what they should do. He then comforted Ming Yuan, telling her to stop crying and promising, "I'll be responsible for you."
After Han Qilu left, Ming Yuan's sorrowful expression dissolved into a triumphant smile, revealing her elaborate scheme. An Chuxia waited for Han Qilu at school, with Bai Qiuzi by her side, teasing her for "petrifying into a rock" while waiting. When Han Qilu finally appeared, An Chuxia eagerly asked why his phone was off, wondering if his battery had died.
However, Han Qilu approached Ming Yuan instead, asking her if she was still making a suit for him, before turning to An Chuxia and declaring, "I'm sorry, Chuxia. I didn't find the one I truly want to marry until yesterday." Bai Qiuzi, furious, confronted Han Qilu, asking if he was out of his mind, and tried to pull a stunned An Chuxia away. An Chuxia watched as Han Qilu and Ming Yuan left hand-in-hand.
Later, when they were alone, Ming Yuan tried to follow Han Qilu, but he stopped her, saying there was no need to pretend when no one was around. Although he apologized and promised to take responsibility for his actions, Han Qilu asked Ming Yuan to leave him alone to think. Back home, Han Qilu's mother angrily confronted him about staying out all night, making An Chuxia wait, and then not even greeting her when he returned.
When she asked about An Chuxia, Han Qilu coldly stated that they had nothing to do with each other anymore and had called off their engagement. His mother was shocked and angered, accusing him of rebelling, but Han Qilu simply reiterated that they had made up their minds. His mother demanded An Chuxia come explain. Heartbroken and distraught, An Chuxia drowned her sorrows at a bar, repeatedly asking the bartender for more drinks despite being visibly drunk.
When Li Shendong arrived, she mistook him for Han Qilu, asking if he no longer wanted her and if he shouldn't be with Ming Yuan. Li Shendong tried to make her realize who he was and asked her to wake up, but she continued to beg "Qilu" not to leave her, promising to change and never yell at him again. Li Shendong then took her home. Outside, they ran into Han Qilu.
Li Shendong confronted Han Qilu, stating he didn't believe Han Qilu was the type to abandon someone easily and demanded to know what happened. Han Qilu simply replied that he no longer had feelings for An Chuxia and quickly tried to leave. An Chuxia, spotting Han Qilu, rushed to him, clinging to him and pleading with him not to go. Han Qilu sternly pushed her away, reiterating that their engagement was canceled and it was truly over between them.
He clarified he was not joking. Overcome with sadness, An Chuxia collapsed to the ground. Later, Li Shendong, still enraged, threatened to physically harm Han Qilu, but An Chuxia intervened, telling him that if someone has forgotten all about you, killing him wouldn't change anything. Han Qilu, meanwhile, made efforts to investigate the hotel incident. At school, students gossiped about Han Qilu and Ming Yuan, with some deriding An Chuxia.
Li Shendong and Bai Qiuzi discussed the situation, with Li Shendong feeling "sadder" than An Chuxia and confessing he would have physically attacked Han Qilu if An Chuxia hadn't stopped him. However, both suspected Han Qilu wasn't truly fickle, and Li Shendong deduced that Ming Yuan might be behind everything. Ming Yuan then approached An Chuxia, feigning sincerity, claiming she didn't want any misunderstandings and that An Chuxia was her only friend.
She tearfully recounted bringing a heavily drunk Han Qilu to dinner and how "something like that" unexpectedly happened that night. An Chuxia, losing patience, cut her off. Ming Yuan continued, expressing self-hatred and a desire to return Han Qilu to An Chuxia, but insisted Han Qilu had promised to take responsibility. An Chuxia, exasperated, demanded she stop.
Later, Ming Yuan reiterated to Kou Yi that this was her last chance, asserting that once An Chuxia left Sheng De, Han Qilu would be hers. Kou Yi, warning her that Li Shendong was already investigating her, refused to further abet her schemes, declaring he wouldn't let her continue her mistakes. Ming Yuan called him a coward. Determined, Ming Yuan then faked a suicide attempt by cutting her wrist, leading to her hospitalization.
At the hospital, she tearfully apologized to An Chuxia, claiming she shouldn't have gotten between them and deserved to die. An Chuxia, softening, assured her it wasn't entirely her fault. Ming Yuan continued to plead, emphasizing her role as An Chuxia's best friend and her reluctance to see her upset, begging for forgiveness. Han Qilu visited Ming Yuan in the hospital. Bai Qiuzi confronted him, asking how he could do such a thing.
Ming Yuan, still playing the victim, said everything was her fault and she was happy he came to see her. Han Qilu, however, made it clear that while he was taking responsibility, his heart would always belong to An Chuxia. Ming Yuan claimed to understand. Later, Ming Yuan, feigning helplessness, asked Han Qilu to feed her water due to her injured hand.
Han Qilu, however, exposed her lie, pointing out that she cut her "left" wrist and her "right" hand should be perfectly fine. Just then, Li Shendong and Bai Qiuzi arrived. Seeing Han Qilu feeding Ming Yuan, they completely misunderstood the situation. Bai Qiuzi accused Han Qilu of betraying their trust, and Li Shendong called him spineless.
As they left, Ming Yuan apologized to Han Qilu, but he sternly warned her that if she played such tricks again, he would stop visiting her entirely. At school, An Chuxia faced relentless bullying and gossip. Students posted humiliating messages about her on the bulletin board, calling her Sheng De's troublemaker for her boyfriend sleeping with her best friend and causing the best friend's suicide attempt.
Her friends tried to cheer her up, suggesting they skip class and go out, but An Chuxia was unresponsive. Han Qilu, witnessing her distress, tried to approach her, but she pushed him away, telling him not to touch her. He called her name, but she was too hurt to respond. As An Chuxia packed her bags to leave, Han Qilu asked if she was leaving because of the bulletin board posts, offering to resolve them.
An Chuxia firmly replied that she was leaving of her own accord. When Han Qilu insisted he didn't want her to leave, she retorted, "Why should I listen to you? Who are you?" He tried to stop her, but she struggled, telling him to let go. He apologized, asked if she was hurt, and if she still cared about him, to which she coldly replied, "Don't flatter yourself."
She warned him to stay away, stating she didn't know if she would do something as desperate as Ming Yuan if he continued to bother her. Han Qilu, shocked, called out her name. An Chuxia packed all her luggage, preparing to leave the Han residence. A staff member, "Uncle Han," inquired if she was truly leaving, expressing concern. An Chuxia asked him to take good care of Han Qilu's mother, affectionately calling her Yuanyuan.
Han Qilu's mother, distraught, confronted her son, asking why he wasn't trying to persuade An Chuxia to stay. Han Qilu asked An Chuxia if she was leaving, and she noted it was the second time he'd asked. Han Qilu's mother then pleaded with her son to intervene, but he remained silent. An Chuxia's father, Jiang He, arrived, furious that his daughter had been bullied in the Han household.
Han Qilu's mother asked if he was truly taking An Chuxia away, to which Jiang He replied that An Chuxia herself wanted to leave. An Chuxia asked for a moment to say goodbye to Yuanyuan, and her father agreed to wait outside. As she looked at Han Qilu, An Chuxia silently thought that if he begged her now, she would stay.
