Return of the Queen Episode 19 Recap
> Return of the Queen Recap
Lu Siyu desperately fought against his attackers. Hearing sounds from his room, Ye Haimeng returned and saw a man in black grappling with Lu Siyu. She immediately rushed to help, and together they managed to fend off the assailant, though Lu Siyu took a heavy blow. Ye Haimeng pursued the attacker and encountered his accomplice, disguised as a waiter, attempting to stab her near the elevators.
Ye Haimeng dodged the attack, but Lu Siyu, who had followed her out, protected her and was cut by the knife. When Guan Jie and Tan Xin finally arrived, the two assailants fled. Guan Jie and Tan Xin chased after them, but the attackers, who clearly knew the hotel layout, managed to escape into a utility room. The hotel reported the incident to the police, who took surveillance footage and promised to notify them of any developments.
Meanwhile, Ye Haimeng, already injured, pulled her waist wound while dodging the attack and was in severe pain. Lu Siyu, disregarding his own injury, quickly carried her into an elevator and headed downstairs. Later, Ye Haimeng and Lu Siyu discussed their injuries. She tried to downplay her pain, but Lu Siyu knew she was lying, expressing concern for her re-injured waist.
Ye Haimeng then worried about his hand, reminding him he had a match coming up, but he assured her it was just a superficial wound from a table knife. Lu Siyu pleaded with Ye Haimeng to take care of herself and not protect him, but she insisted it was her duty as his older sister.
He disagreed, arguing that age was irrelevant and expressed his desire to stand shoulder to shoulder with her and protect her, not wanting her to get caught in the dangerous whirlpool surrounding Mare Nubium. They then made a solemn promise: no matter what happened or what misunderstandings arose, they would never separate, always be honest, trust each other, and remain steadfast in their relationship. Meanwhile, Ye Bochen recognized Ling Ke.
He remembered her from childhood by a distinct mole on her ear, realizing she was Zhang Yujie's only daughter, the former financial officer at Mare Nubium whom his uncle trusted deeply. He confronted her, demanding to know what she was looking for. Ling Ke finally admitted she was searching for money—a massive sum that had secretly left Mare Nubium's Finance Department ten years ago and was still missing.
She warned that if the money wasn't found, Mare Nubium would collapse, and someone would pay with their life. Later, Tan Xin met with Ye Haimeng, having called her earlier to ask for a private conversation outside her room. Tan Xin revealed that the Lu family had suddenly presented a notarized will left by Lu Sinan.
This will, personally written by Lu Sinan after his marriage to Ye Haimeng and legally processed with a lawyer team as witnesses, left all his assets, including Mare Nubium shares, to his younger brother, Lu Siyu. Tan Xin explained that this notarized will superseded the previously discussed property entrustment agreement, which was a forgery based on Lu Sinan's blank signature. As a result, Lu Siyu became Mare Nubium's largest shareholder overnight.
The news had already gone public, with media outlets reporting on the significant twist in the inheritance case. The Lu family, leveraging Lu Siyu's new majority stake, had re-entered Mare Nubium and reoccupied Cloud Manor. Tan Xin voiced suspicions to Ye Haimeng, suggesting that Lu Siyu's motive for bringing her to Xiamen might not be pure.
He questioned if Lu Siyu was truly unaware of their car accident and if his invitation to the competition was orchestrated by the Lu family to distract Ye Haimeng and allow them to seize control. Ye Haimeng initially found this impossible to believe, but Tan Xin insisted that in the face of immense profit, anything was possible, especially since Lu Siyu now held billions in Mare Nubium assets.
Tan Xin concluded by reminding her of past deceptions and warning that Lu Siyu, by virtue of his name appearing in the will, was now the Lu family's most potent tool against her. Disturbed, Ye Haimeng asked Tan Xin and Guan Jie to leave so she could process everything. Ling Ke's past warnings echoed in Ye Haimeng's mind, making her doubt whether Lu Siyu was truly different from Lu Sinan, given their shared family bloodline.
Lu Siyu awoke and called out for Ye Haimeng. When she opened the door, he saw she was crying. He gently asked if it was Mare Nubium or his family that was troubling her, reiterating their promise to trust each other and never separate. Ye Haimeng affirmed her love and trust for him.
Following a phone call from Ling Ke, who, despite their earlier disagreement, decided to call Haimeng in hopes she knew about the missing money, Ye Haimeng decided they needed to leave Xiamen and return to Haijiang immediately that night. Lu Siyu worried about the dangers of driving on the highway at night and about their luggage. Ye Haimeng said they would abandon all their luggage except their bows, which Guan Jie would retrieve.
She instructed Lu Siyu to wait with Tan Xin in the parking lot. As Ye Haimeng made her way to the parking lot, she witnessed Lu Siyu being forcibly taken by Chen Mo and other men. Lu Siyu, from inside the car, locked eyes with her and urged her not to follow. Ye Haimeng ran after the vehicle, desperately calling out his name and pleading for him to wait, as the car sped away. Guan Jie arrived and drove Ye Haimeng back to Haijiang.
