Shen Yuan (Kyle Hubert), a funeral envoy of the underworld, agrees to Elder Lin’s request and binds himself by a marriage contract, marrying into the Lin family to safeguard them for three years. Yet, the Lin family repays his kindness with ingratitude—subjecting him to humiliation and betrayal.
On the very eve of their misfortune being lifted, they drive Shen Yuan out. Soon after, the Lin family is struck once again by a life-and-death catastrophe. Only then do they finally understand the extent of Shen Yuan’s devotion, and, filled with remorse, beg him to return and protect them once more.
