Our Glamorous Time Episode 46 Recap
> Our Glamorous Time Recap
After the building's elevator broke, Ning Weikai carried Grace up to her 22nd-floor office. He playfully complained about the strenuous climb while Grace teased him about his stamina. Once inside, Ning Weikai brought her a drink and massaged her injured foot. This act stirred a poignant memory for Grace, who recalled her father massaging her feet when she was little after a childhood accident.
She recounted how he had carried her two kilometers to the hospital, losing his shoes in the rush. Overcome with emotion, Grace lamented that she would never see him again, to which Ning Weikai lovingly reassured her that someone loved her even more than her father. Meanwhile, Gu Yanzhi, looking uneasy in his office, received an urgent call from the bank.
He was sternly informed that if he failed to repay his loan within a week, his mortgaged property would be auctioned off as stipulated in their contract. Shortly after, Gu Yanzhi was summoned to Li Zhicheng’s office. Li Zhicheng casually inquired about Gu Yanzhi’s recent activities before directly asking what he had been discussing with Peter. Gu Yanzhi seemed taken aback, and Li Zhicheng, with a friendly warning, advised him to be cautious of Peter’s character.
Gu Yanzhi vaguely responded that he knew what he was doing. When Li Zhicheng received a call, Gu Yanzhi asked about it, but Li Zhicheng did not elaborate, instead instructing him to prepare Qingcheng's sales report. Li Zhicheng and Woodpecker later met in an underground garage. Woodpecker reported that he had seen Lao Zhao enter Peter’s car, though he was unsure of what transpired inside.
Indeed, Peter was inside his car, handing money to Lao Zhao, who complained that Peter had paid him 10,000 yuan less than agreed. As they argued, Li Zhicheng and Woodpecker strategically blocked Peter's car doors. A terrified Lao Zhao immediately tried to explain to Li Zhicheng that Peter had bribed him. Peter, however, remained unfazed, confidently asserting that Li Zhicheng lacked any real evidence against him.
He then arrogantly suggested that Qingcheng's shirt sales were plummeting and that Qingcheng and Snowy Smoke should be handed over to DP. Li Zhicheng, seeing Peter’s unrepentant attitude, sternly warned him that his unethical competitive tactics would eventually lead to his expulsion from China. Li Zhicheng also confronted Peter, accusing him of plagiarizing designs, hiring an employee to sabotage the buttons, disrupting Wenda's stores, and even arranging Grace's injury.
Peter denied these accusations, dismissing them as Li Zhicheng's imagination, but confidently reiterated that Qingcheng was a wasted opportunity in Li Zhicheng's hands and would only succeed under DP. Li Zhicheng fiercely retorted that Wenda, Qingcheng, Simeiqi, and Xinbaorui would all be fine, while DP would be "totally gone." Peter retorted with a smug smile, advising Li Zhicheng to buy the latest H Magazine.
After Peter left, Li Zhicheng told Woodpecker not to pursue Lao Zhao immediately, as he was clearly frightened and likely threatened by Peter, but to give him some time, and also instructed him to get a copy of H Magazine. While Ning Weikai was still with Grace, Zhu Hanjing called, urging him to return to the company due to an urgent matter.
He rushed to Xinbaorui’s meeting room, where he was shocked to learn that Zhu Hanchong intended to sell his shares in the company. Ning Weikai and Zhu Hanjing tried to persuade him, emphasizing that Xinbaorui was their late father's legacy. Zhu Hanchong, however, dismissed their sentiments, claiming Xinbaorui had no emotional value to him and that he had never had a say in its operations.
He argued that with Xinbaorui's declining performance and the rapid growth of DP, his shares would soon be worthless, and he wished to cash out to pursue ventures he truly enjoyed, such as mobile games or property management. Zhu Hanjing, feeling helpless, questioned Ning Weikai about his whereabouts earlier that day. Just then, Ning Weikai received a call from Grace. He hesitated, preparing to leave, but Zhu Hanjing reminded him of his promise to their father to protect Xinbaorui.
Ning Weikai assured her he intended to keep his promise and would stick with Xinbaorui through thick and thin, but stated he still had to leave. Woodpecker purchased the latest H Magazine, which featured Lin Qian and Li Zhicheng’s wedding photo on the cover. The accompanying article maliciously distorted facts, accusing them of fraud and claiming their Qingcheng clothing endangered public safety. Lin Qian was furious and wanted to confront the photo studio for leaking their pictures without permission.
Li Zhicheng, equally angered, went to Lisa, the editor of H Magazine, for an explanation. Lisa skillfully defended the article as factual reporting, claiming it had been legally vetted, and then attempted to subtly seduce him. Li Zhicheng, however, quickly pulled away, maintaining a professional distance, and warned her to stay away from Peter to avoid getting caught in the crossfire.
Back in his office, Gu Yanzhi was on the phone with Peter, who was pressuring him to accept an offer for his shares, mentioning Zhu Hanchong’s recent sale of Xinbaorui shares and suggesting that Li Zhicheng's nepotism was holding Gu Yanzhi back. Just then, Li Zhicheng entered and confirmed that Zhu Hanchong had indeed sold his shares.
Gu Yanzhi muttered to himself that shares held would eventually be worth nothing unless cashed out for assets like a house or a car, or used to start something new. Li Zhicheng, his suspicions piqued, asked what he meant, but Gu Yanzhi quickly masked his true thoughts, claiming it was just a casual remark. After much deliberation, Gu Yanzhi decided to accept Peter’s offer to sell his shares in Wenda.
He stipulated that the money be directly wired to his account and that the deal remain confidential until completed. Peter agreed, a cold smile forming on his lips. Separately, Gao Lang called Li Zhicheng to report on the investigation into Grace’s injury. He confirmed that surveillance footage showed someone deliberately pushed her down the stairs. However, he also noted that the image was grainy, and the attacker wore a hat, making identification impossible.
Li Zhicheng later shared this unsettling news with a surprised Grace. Chen Zheng took Chen Yayi to a masquerade party, where she felt uncomfortable with the unrestrained atmosphere. While Chen Zheng was distracted, his friend, Xinyu, behaved inappropriately towards Chen Yayi. Distressed, Chen Yayi left the party, and Chen Zheng followed her, initially trying to praise her for her "feisty" reaction.
She expressed her desire to end their "tacky, obscene game" and return to a single life, emphasizing that she sought a boyfriend who would hold her hand and never let go, not one who paraded her at such parties. Chen Zheng, frustrated, accused her of constantly hiding their relationship as if he were an embarrassment, to which Chen Yayi pointed out that he himself had let go of her hand on the dance floor.
Their argument escalated, and Chen Yayi broke up with him, stating they were over. Later, Zhu Hanjing returned home to find a drunken Zhu Hanchong sitting by the door. He admitted he had come back because he missed his sister and their late father. He reminisced about waiting for their busy father as a child, learning the exact positions of the stars while he waited.
Zhu Hanjing, touched, recalled their father’s strictness but also the strong, if sometimes complicated, bond they shared, noting their father would hit Zhu Hanchong for waiting at the door. Zhu Hanchong explained that he only waited to see his father sooner when he biked home.
