As a robot, Adam was programmed to complete his objectives. With A Zhai's approval, the izakaya was officially named "Zhai Ji D" and commenced operations. Adam displayed exceptional business acumen, establishing themed days from Monday to Saturday, including Uniform Day, Belly Dance Day, Hula Day, and Pasodoble Day. He and Xia Wa would dress in sailor outfits, Indian attire, grass skirts, and bullfighting costumes, offering customers a diverse and exotic experience.
The profits far exceeded A Zhai's expectations, with a continuous flow of income that Adam and Xia Wa diligently handed over to him, quickly making A Zhai immensely wealthy. However, A Zhai found himself increasingly unhappy. He felt particularly distressed watching Xia Wa constantly attending to Adam. Driven by his discontent, A Zhai, dressed in a fur coat and gold chain, arranged a lavish banquet at a hotel and invited Wang Fugui.
Upon seeing A Zhai's setup and hearing his veiled story, Wang Fugui quickly deduced that A Zhai was talking about himself, pointing out that A Zhai, a seasoned recluse, had no friends besides him. Seeing that his secret was out, A Zhai no longer held back, confiding all his troubles and the truth about Xia Wa.
He explained to Wang Fugui that Xia Wa was a robot from the future, whom he had bought with all his savings, hoping she would replace Penny and be with him forever. However, Xia Wa became bound to Adam instead, making A Zhai deeply unhappy. He then revealed his decision to take action and modify Xia Wa's program so she would rebind to him, a plan that required Wang Fugui's assistance.
After enjoying their meal at the hotel, A Zhai and Wang Fugui, laden with prepared bags, headed to A Zhai's house. In A Zhai's small warehouse, they busied themselves designing the program modifications. Meanwhile, Adam was cheerfully decorating the house, planning a birthday party for A Zhai.
Once the modifications were complete, A Zhai emerged, feigning nonchalance, and instructed Adam to take a lunch box to a classroom at school and wait for him there, emphasizing that he shouldn't leave until A Zhai arrived. Adam, carrying the carefully prepared lunch, departed for A Zhai's school. With Adam gone, A Zhai and Wang Fugui initiated their plan. Dressed in a suit, A Zhai knocked on Xia Wa's door.
Xia Wa, surprised by his formal attire, asked if he was going on a date, to which A Zhai confirmed it was indeed a date, but not outside the house. He then revealed that it was his birthday and confessed that he had never spent his birthday with a girl before. He explained that Xia Wa's presence had given him the courage he previously lacked and asked her to celebrate with him.
He led Xia Wa to the backyard, where she was astonished to find a beautifully arranged candlelit dinner in the small garden. A Zhai proudly presented a power strip he had modified, adorned with sparkling diamonds. Xia Wa was visibly excited. A Zhai, sensing her thoughts, encouraged her to try charging with it immediately, assuring her that she shouldn't feel embarrassed.
As Xia Wa eagerly plugged herself in, a sudden flash of electricity and sparks erupted, causing her to instantly faint. A Zhai silently wished for everything to be better, apologizing to Xia Wa as she lost consciousness.
