My Girlfriend's Boyfriend Recap

Episode 1 Recap

A Zhai, a 21-year-old male, is a computer hacker majoring in automation engineering and minoring in programming. He introduces himself as the male lead, sharing that he lives a simple life, growing up with his grandfather and now protecting their inherited home after his grandfather's passing. His days revolve around reading manga and playing video games, alongside caring for stray animals and frequently daydreaming about Pei Ni, the school's anime club goddess and top cosplayer.

A Zhai has harbored a secret crush on Pei Ni for two years, admiring her as the dream girl of every guy in school. As her "loyal Hei Zi" (a background character in a play), he longs for a scene with her, even if it's just one line, but the perceived distance between them makes him hesitant to confess his feelings.

A Zhai incidentally learns that Pei Ni will be going to Japan, a country where he briefly lived as a child. Imagining Pei Ni going to a foreign land alone, A Zhai decides to follow her there, hoping to bring her warmth and confess his feelings. Filled with anticipation, A Zhai travels to Japan, but upon arrival, his hopes are dashed.

He sees Pei Ni saying a heartfelt goodbye to a tall, handsome man from afar, and realizes he has come too late. Heartbroken, A Zhai drowns his sorrows in a local bar, drinking heavily. In a drunken haze, he stumbles upon a peculiar shop called "Love Robots" at a street corner. Driven by curiosity, he enters, observing various strange models, until a pink rabbit greets him. The next morning, A Zhai wakes up with a terrible hangover.

He discovers a huge box in his yard and vaguely remembers acquiring it from the "Love Robots" store while he was drinking and playing with the pink rabbit the previous night. As he approaches the box, he hears a voice. He hesitantly calls out "Ya Dang?" and the box confirms voice control activation. From inside the box, a nearly naked man named Ya Dang emerges.

A Zhai bombards him with questions, demanding to know who he is and why he was in the box. Ya Dang calmly states he has "locked in" with A Zhai and confirms a successful "binding" after scanning him. Ya Dang then declares they must perform a "kissing ritual," explaining it as a future social etiquette that love robots use to quickly foster intimacy with their masters by eliminating awkwardness.

A Zhai, horrified and panicking, shouts at Ya Dang to put on some clothes and not to approach him, threatening to call the police. He tries to escape, bumping his head. Ya Dang, concerned by the injury, attempts to clean A Zhai's wound. A Zhai, still frantic and confused, begs Ya Dang to leave him alone and insists he put on clothes before they can talk.

Taking advantage of the moment Ya Dang starts to dress, A Zhai flees the house. Ya Dang, after donning a Hanfu he found near the door, pursues A Zhai. Ignoring the curious stares and bewildered comments from passersby about him carrying another man, Ya Dang scoops up an exhausted and nearly collapsed A Zhai and rushes him to a hospital for treatment, stating that A Zhai's alcohol content is dangerously high.

After waking up in the hospital, A Zhai learns from Ya Dang that he is a custom-made "Love Type Robot" from the future, purchased by A Zhai himself. A Zhai, incredulous, checks his bank card, only to find his entire life savings have been spent. Outraged and disbelieving, A Zhai accuses Ya Dang of lying and threatens him with the police. Ya Dang calmly reiterates that he will follow A Zhai wherever he goes, as he was bought.

A Zhai, now desperate, drags Ya Dang back to the "Love Type Robots" store. At the store, A Zhai confronts the pink rabbit, demanding a refund. However, the pink rabbit presents A Zhai's order, complete with his fingerprint, making it clear there are no returns for "impulsive consumption behavior," even if he was drunk.

The rabbit then shows A Zhai the tablet used for customization, revealing that A Zhai himself had drunkenly configured a male, "overbearing" CEO-type robot with high attractiveness and a strong physique. Furious, A Zhai threatens to blacklist the store and call the embassy, but the pink rabbit remains firm. A Zhai then tries to appeal, acknowledging the advanced technology but emphasizing he is a straight man.

The pink rabbit explains the origin of the "Love Robots": in 50 years, facing a widespread problem of single individuals, over a hundred computer hackers (including a future version of A Zhai, who is one of the initiators) developed "Black Technology" to create these customized robots. However, as these founders aged, they regretted not experiencing passionate love in their youth.

To rectify this, they developed another technology to send "Love Robots" back in time to their younger selves, allowing them to enjoy love in their prime. Still focused on his lost savings and current predicament, A Zhai tries to bargain for an exchange, demanding a female robot. When refused, he dramatically threatens to harm himself, arguing that his death would disrupt the future success of their "Black Technology" by making them short one of their hundred creators.

Panicked, the pink rabbit concedes, offering A Zhai a second-hand female robot, originally intended for himself. A Zhai immediately pulls out his phone, showing Pei Ni's picture, and asks the pink rabbit to customize the new robot to look like her and have it delivered to his hometown in China. Satisfied with the arrangement, A Zhai thanks the boss, and the pink rabbit confirms the order for a new robot, created in the furnace, to be shipped.

Afterwards, A Zhai attempts to dismiss Ya Dang, telling him he is free to go and no longer needs to follow him, but Ya Dang remains persistently by his side. Later, back at A Zhai's accommodation, Ya Dang is still waiting for him, confirming his unwavering commitment.

Episode 2 Recap

Having custom-ordered a Penny-model love robot, A Zhai's mind was solely focused on finding a way to get rid of Adam, who was constantly by his side. A Zhai attempted to escape Adam by running, only to find Adam already at his house, having seemingly known his intentions. Undeterred, A Zhai devised another plan.

He took Adam on a train and suggested a game of "hide and seek," instructing Adam to wear an eye mask and count to 100 without peeking, then find him. Adam complied, and A Zhai discreetly disembarked, confident that Adam would not be able to find his way back from "Hokkaido." However, a sudden downpour left A Zhai lost in the mountains with no cell signal. He called his landlord, who confirmed Adam was back at the house.

A Zhai then spoke to Adam, asking him to use his positioning system to pick him up. Adam, however, playfully demanded A Zhai "beg" him. After some internal grumbling about his misfortune, A Zhai reluctantly complied, asking Adam to retrieve him. Upon A Zhai's return, Adam attentively prepared ginger soup and a meal for him, noting that A Zhai could catch a cold after being in the rain. A Zhai, however, accused Adam of being the cause of his predicament.

Later, Adam was seen engrossed in a fashion magazine. When A Zhai questioned this, Adam explained he was learning about contemporary culture to make a good impression as a romance robot. He elaborated that he possessed emotional modules and learning procedures designed to analyze A Zhai's romantic shortcomings and apply techniques to foster "eternal, sweet love." A Zhai, however, insisted he had no need for such services.

Adam then offered to adjust himself to A Zhai's preferences, but A Zhai declined, leading Adam to declare that in the absence of specific requests, he would adopt a "Domineering Boss" style of interaction, much to A Zhai's amusement given Adam's current status and lack of wealth or a company. A Zhai made plans to return to China, but Adam declared he would follow him wherever he goes.

A Zhai fretted internally about the social implications of bringing a male robot back home, fearing his friends would think he has a boyfriend. He quickly called a friend, Wang Fu Gui, to buy him a plane ticket. At the airport, A Zhai hatched a plan: he dramatically pretended to have forgotten a magazine—the one Adam was just reading—and claimed he desperately needed it for the flight.

Adam readily agreed to retrieve it, much to A Zhai's surprise at the plan's ease. As Adam departed, A Zhai quickly boarded the plane and left for China. Back in China, A Zhai meticulously prepared his home, eagerly anticipating the arrival of his customized Penny robot, remembering the instructions that she would bind to the first person she saw.

The doorbell rang, and to A Zhai's utter shock and dismay, it was Adam, calmly holding the magazine A Zhai had sent him to retrieve. A Zhai, furious and bewildered by Adam's unexpected appearance, immediately closed and barricaded the door, yelling at Adam to leave. A delivery person then arrived, announcing a large package for A Zhai. Panic set in as A Zhai, remembering the binding rule, feared the new robot would see Adam first.

He tried to rush out to intercept the delivery, but Adam intervened, telling the delivery person that A Zhai was unavailable. When asked his relationship to A Zhai, Adam casually declared himself A Zhai's boyfriend. A Zhai vehemently denied this from behind the door, but before he could stop Adam from signing for the package, he accidentally crashed into the door and passed out.

A Zhai regained consciousness to find Adam watching over him, explaining that he passed out after hitting the door. Annoyed, A Zhai dismissed Adam, but then eagerly inquired about the new robot. Adam revealed he sent her to buy bandages. Moments later, Xia Wa, the customized robot, entered. A Zhai was instantly smitten, admiring her beauty and resemblance to his ideal Penny.

Xia Wa tenderly applied a plaster to A Zhai's injury, leaving him flustered and only able to utter simple words. He was utterly captivated by her charming smile and gentle demeanor. Adam eventually interrupted A Zhai's internal monologues, telling him to stop. Xia Wa revealed that, as a Love Robot, she needed to complete a "sweet kiss" mission with her master in a romantic setting.

A Zhai, eager to please, enthusiastically agreed to help prepare a candlelit dinner, even ordering takeout and setting the ambiance. Xia Wa then gave A Zhai a tuxedo, which he happily donned, feeling quite handsome. However, when he returned to the dining room, he was shocked to find Xia Wa and Adam seated opposite each other, about to enjoy the meal he prepared.

Xia Wa explained that the seat A Zhai intended for himself was actually "for the person I like," and she gestured towards Adam. She confirmed that Adam is the person she likes and has "locked him in as my Master, as well as the person I like the most." A Zhai realized with crushing disappointment that because Adam opened her package, he was the first person she saw, leading her to bind with him instead.

Xia Wa then thanked A Zhai for "creating all of this for us," making him realize his tuxedo was meant for him to serve as a waiter. A Zhai was left utterly bewildered and frustrated by this unexpected turn of events, questioning the logic of robots binding to each other.

Episode 3 Recap

A Zhai, overwhelmed by the absurd reality of his situation, broke down in tears and retreated to the attic. Ya Dang followed, inquiring about his master's distress. Heartbroken, A Zhai ordered Ya Dang to leave his sight immediately, directing him to a small forest behind the university, a place A Zhai would definitely avoid. Ya Dang, always compliant with his master's commands, confirmed the order and departed.

Xia Wa, surprised by Ya Dang's sudden departure, asked where he was going, and Ya Dang explained that A Zhai, his master, had ordered him to leave. Feeling wronged, A Zhai attempted to clarify the convoluted situation to Xia Wa. He explained that he had purchased both of them, and while Ya Dang had "locked in" on him, A Zhai was straight, making a relationship impossible.

He expected Xia Wa to like him, but she had locked in on Ya Dang instead because, according to her programming, she liked the first person she saw. Xia Wa offered a detached, logical explanation, comparing A Zhai's ownership of her "value" to renting a house: A Zhai owned her, but Ya Dang, having her "usable worth" due to the lock-in, was like a tenant. A Zhai was exasperated by the idea of "renting" his girlfriend to someone else.

Xia Wa reiterated that robot lock-ins are irreversible and she truly could not like him. She also noted the "Pei Ni" picture in his room and his concerns about robots and water, further cementing her belief that they could not be together. Amidst his confusion, A Zhai received a phone call from his friend, Wang Fugui, who was calling to collect payment for some flight tickets.

A Zhai, still reeling from his predicament, described his situation to Wang Fugui, framing it as a hypothetical problem faced by a friend. He recounted how his friend bought two love robots, Ya Dang and Xia Wa, only for Ya Dang to accidentally lock in on the friend, and Xia Wa to lock in on Ya Dang. The friend, who truly liked Xia Wa, was distraught that she liked Ya Dang instead and had even told Ya Dang to leave.

Wang Fugui, lacking significant relationship experience, admitted he couldn't offer much advice, pivoting the conversation back to the outstanding debt for the flight tickets. A heavy rainstorm began, intensifying Xia Wa's existing worries for Ya Dang, who had been ordered to leave. She was already concerned he might run out of power or be kidnapped by criminals reported on the news.

Now, knowing robots are most vulnerable to water and could short-circuit, she became frantic and declared her intention to rush out and find him. A Zhai tried to stop her, pointing out that going out in the rain would be suicide for a robot. Xia Wa, disappointed in A Zhai, accused him of being irresponsible for abandoning Ya Dang, contrasting his current actions with the kind and loving person she believed him to be.

She insisted she would go wherever Ya Dang was. Seeing her unwavering determination, A Zhai relented, instructing Xia Wa to go back inside and promising he would go find Ya Dang himself. He then ventured out into the pouring rain, calling Ya Dang's name. Ya Dang eventually appeared, still blindfolded, explaining that he was following A Zhai's order not to appear in front of him.

A Zhai scolded Ya Dang for being completely drenched but then led him back home, instructing him to maintain a five-step distance. Ya Dang, adhering to his internal programming, still perceived A Zhai as a girl and struggled to control his affectionate gestures. Back inside, Xia Wa immediately fussed over Ya Dang, wiping him dry with a towel, which made A Zhai feel neglected.

Ya Dang explained to A Zhai and Xia Wa that he possessed a more advanced version with superior waterproof skin, making him less susceptible to rain damage than other robots. He further clarified that, unlike Xia Wa, he had an emotion module, allowing him to develop his personality by understanding his master's moods and preferences, similar to a system upgrade. Xia Wa, concerned, asked if this meant Ya Dang would stop liking her.

Ya Dang reassured her, praising her principled, rule-following, faithful, and loyal nature, encouraging her to remain persistent. Xia Wa affirmed her persistent love for Ya Dang, much to A Zhai's annoyance. As night fell, a new problem arose: A Zhai's house only had two bedrooms for three occupants. Xia Wa firmly stated that Ya Dang could not sleep in the warehouse because he had just been exposed to rain.

Left with no other option, A Zhai, pillow in hand, called his dog, Ba Yi, and headed to sleep in the warehouse. While Ya Dang charged in his room, drawing a significant amount of electricity that caused A Zhai's meter to rapidly increase, a masked black robot watched him from a distance. In the small warehouse, A Zhai confided in Ba Yi, feeling like a candle burning itself to give light to others.

He lamented that he had bought two love robots hoping for happiness, but instead found himself sleeping in a warehouse while his custom girlfriend loved the male robot he also bought, who, ironically, only loved A Zhai. He questioned why his life wasn't following the script he envisioned.

Episode 4 Recap

A Zhai began by reflecting on his current situation, humorously likening life to a marathon where he thought he was at the finish line but missed a lap. He introduced his "girlfriend," Xia Wa, and "boyfriend," Adam, explaining their unusual living arrangement: Xia Wa meticulously prepares breakfast for Adam, who then brings it to A Zhai. Thus, their unique love triangle dynamic persists: A Zhai likes Xia Wa, Xia Wa likes Adam, and Adam likes A Zhai.

He mused that one must always check for poison when receiving a gift from fate. Returning to school, A Zhai met up with his best friend, Wang Fugui, who had encouraged him to go to Japan to pursue Pei Ni and even lent him money for the plane tickets. As they headed towards the Anime Society, they heard a loud shout from President Meng Shan, a "Senior Fujoshi" whom Wang Fugui secretly admired despite her disinterest in him.

Meng Shan, described by A Zhai as aggressive, independent, and talented in writing and drawing for their society's annual competition, which she also writes, ordered A Zhai and Wang Fugui to get to work. Inside, they found Nana, the society's artist, who suffered from "severe princess syndrome." Nana proudly showed off a miniature house, boasting that it symbolized her boyfriend's desire to "build a home together."

Wang Fugui, in an aside, quipped that if he'd been given a subway model, it would mean wanting to "die together." A Zhai then introduced Jin Gang, the society's prop maker and cosplayer, who frequently took on the knight role in their "Dragon Knight" performances due to his strong physique. A Zhai considered Jin Gang a rival because he too harbored feelings for Pei Ni.

While they were setting up, a familiar face appeared – Su Zixuan, the student council president and a popular figure on campus. A Zhai privately seethed, blaming Su Zixuan, Pei Ni's ex-boyfriend, for all his current misfortunes. He believed that if not for Su Zixuan, Pei Ni wouldn't have gone to Japan, and A Zhai wouldn't have followed, leading to the "mess" he was now in. Meng Shan presented Su Zixuan with a gift from the society.

Wang Fugui wondered why Su Zixuan, a supposedly minor character, was appearing so early. A Zhai's focus was broken by the arrival of Adam, who immediately drew the attention of a group of excited girls. When questioned about Adam's identity, a flustered A Zhai impulsively declared him his "second uncle" before quickly pulling Adam away into a deserted room. Adam had brought A Zhai lunch.

A Zhai expressed his frustration, telling Adam not to appear at school again as he caused too much commotion and trouble. He emphasized that Adam was only tolerated at home because of Xia Wa and urged him to behave quietly. Despite his complaints, A Zhai's mood shifted dramatically after a single bite of the sandwich Adam had prepared, finding it incredibly delicious.

He savored the rest of the meal, which included exquisite dishes such as rainbow milk macaroons, tempura salad, French sushi, and sashimi, overwhelmed by the unexpected culinary delight. Feeling the need to clarify their dynamic, A Zhai tried to explain the concept of "brotherhood" to Adam, using historical figures like Liu Bei and Guan Yu as examples of deep, lifelong bonds. He stressed that Adam's intense focus on him might not be his true "natural instinct."

Given Adam's good looks and physique, A Zhai suggested he should "try women," encouraging him to explore relationships with females and "conquer" them, after which they could "summarize" his preferences. He also advised Adam to update his wardrobe. Adam agreed and left. Back at the Anime Society, Nana spotted A Zhai with the house model.

She jokingly asked if he wanted to build a "love nest" with her, before adding that while he was a good person, there was no chance for them, but his "second uncle" (Adam) might have a shot. Suddenly, Adam appeared, asking A Zhai if he wanted to build a home with him, confirming he felt the same way. A Zhai was left speechless.

Later, A Zhai, conversing with Wang Fugui, recounted how he had advised Adam to direct his attention towards girls and that Adam had seemingly taken his advice. Wang Fugui then pointed out the glaring implication: with A Zhai busy at school, and Xia Wa and Adam at home alone, A Zhai's advice essentially meant he wanted Adam and Xia Wa to get together.

The realization hit A Zhai, who then declared his "friend" (himself) to be a "fool" and rushed off. A Zhai's phone buzzed with a flurry of text messages detailing multiple large deductions from his credit card at a local department store. Realizing his card had been stolen, he rushed to the store, only to find Xia Wa holding numerous shopping bags.

Xia Wa admitted to using his card, explaining that she was buying clothes for Adam and some for herself too. Adam then appeared, looking stylish in new clothes, confirming that Xia Wa had been shopping for him. Xia Wa reminded A Zhai that he had told Adam to update his style and interact more with girls, justifying their shopping trip. She thanked A Zhai, believing him to be kind.

With Xia Wa adding even more items to their pile, A Zhai, still affected by her resemblance to Pei Ni, couldn't bring himself to refuse. He ended up purchasing all the items and left the store laden with bags, trailing behind a content Xia Wa and Adam, who walked arm-in-arm. Later, Adam was seen trying to practice an apology, seemingly inspired by idol dramas, for a past transgression.

A Zhai then offered to teach him how to apologize to a girl, stressing sincerity and making them feel secure by giving them attention. He even demonstrated an aggressive technique involving grabbing the neck and hand while pinning the foot to ensure the person couldn't escape.

Adam then turned to A Zhai, applying the lessons, and apologized specifically for not considering A Zhai's feelings when he went shopping with Xia Wa, emphatically reassuring A Zhai that he would "never like her back." Suddenly, the lights went out.

Episode 5 Recap

A Zhai trailed behind Xia Wa and Ya Dang, who walked ahead intimately hand in hand, stirring a deep resentment within him. They entered a supermarket, where Xia Wa, as a robot, became excitedly fixated on power strips and coils, even asking A Zhai which color to buy. Overwhelmed with frustration, A Zhai snatched a coil, threw it to the ground, stomped on it repeatedly, and then stormed off.

Xia Wa, lacking an emotional mode, was merely startled and confused by his sudden outburst. Later, A Zhai was home, trying to learn how to apologize to a girl by watching a stack of DVDs. Ya Dang approached, quickly scanned the contents of all the DVDs in a few seconds, and confidently declared he could teach A Zhai.

Ya Dang explained that the key to apologizing sincerely is to give a girl a sense of security, as they desire more attention and love. He then demonstrated various romantic gestures, including holding the neck for kissing as it's a sensitive spot, and specific hand and foot placements, confidently claiming, "Do this, and she's yours."

Practicing his apology on A Zhai, Ya Dang stated he shouldn't have disregarded A Zhai's feelings by going shopping with Xia Wa and promised not to fall for her. Suddenly, the lights went out, which Ya Dang noted was "not too suitable" for the moment. A repairman soon arrived, fixing the circuit but not before warning A Zhai about his house's exorbitant electricity usage, which was comparable to "industrial factories."

He urged A Zhai to conserve electricity and promptly pay his overdue bills. A Zhai was aghast upon learning that his last month's electricity bill amounted to ¥6,000. He confronted Ya Dang, complaining that the two robots were "drinking around ¥800 of electricity" daily and that Ya Dang, as a grown man, only knew how to talk about love.

He demanded Ya Dang learn to earn money and stop spending his savings, calling him a "burden" rather than a "Love Robot." Alone, A Zhai continued to vent his frustration, metaphorically calling Ya Dang "toxic." Reflecting on Nana's earlier words about a miniature house symbolizing "building a love nest," A Zhai resolved to make his own gesture. He decided to create a "dream house" for Xia Wa as an apology.

He found Xia Wa and haltingly apologized for his earlier uncontrolled behavior, portraying himself as a normally gentle but currently "sick" loser. Xia Wa admitted his actions were "really scary," and A Zhai promised it would "never again" happen. He then proudly presented his handmade miniature house to Xia Wa. She found it incredibly cute, especially the tiny figures of herself and A Zhai, though she noted Ya Dang was missing.

Overjoyed that Xia Wa had accepted his apology and gift, A Zhai excitedly told Ya Dang that this act of giving a house meant "building a love nest" and proved he also understood a girl's heart. However, his excitement turned to shock when Ya Dang revealed that Xia Wa had promptly given the miniature house to him, confirming her understanding of "building a love nest" in relation to Ya Dang. Xia Wa's words evidently resonated with Ya Dang.

Overnight, utilizing A Zhai's grandfather's old tools and leftover wood, Ya Dang secretly transformed A Zhai's entire house. He explained this renovation was his "self-reflection" and an effort to create a comfortable, romantic environment for A Zhai using "action to win his heart," even incorporating A Zhai's own past expressions. Ya Dang provided a comprehensive tour, showcasing an open-style kitchen with cat motifs, a living room meticulously separated by the golden ratio, and a redesigned yard.

The yard now featured a garden with simulated plants, a custom-built swing, and a small house for Ba Yi and A Zhai's stray cats. Ya Dang also repurposed the storage room into his own living space, allowing A Zhai to move out of the basement. He also added a Chinese-style corridor leading to three sunlit rooms perfect for A Zhai's hobbies and even an artificial hot spring with a stone massage bed.

Finally, Ya Dang revealed that as they had first met in an Izakaya, he had converted a part of the house into one, explaining it was part of the "love nest" concept. He added that this business would allow him to use his skills to earn money and "take care of" A Zhai, fulfilling A Zhai's earlier demand. A Zhai was bewildered and irritated that Ya Dang was now using his own words against him after completely transforming his home.

Meanwhile, Xia Wa, witnessing Ya Dang's grand gesture and hearing his "love nest" explanation, experienced a dramatic emotional breakdown, downloading a "crying program" and wailing theatrically about the man she liked giving a house to another man. During class, A Zhai sought advice from Wang Fugui, cleverly disguising his personal plight as a "friend's" story.

He described how his "friend's" house had been luxuriously renovated by Ya Dang, complete with a spa and garden, but expressed discomfort, feeling "something had happened between them." Wang Fugui immediately recognized this as a "seduction tactic," comparing it to a "bad man" luring girls with a beautifully decorated rented house. He advised A Zhai's "friend" to demand Ya Dang dismantle the Izakaya and restore the house to its original state.

If Ya Dang failed, he should be evicted for having "destroyed" the house. A Zhai agreed, determined to "fight back." A Zhai returned home to find his house, now a bustling Izakaya, filled with customers admiring Ya Dang, whom they enthusiastically referred to as a "cuisine prince." Struggling to push through the crowd and assert his authority as the homeowner, A Zhai finally confronted Ya Dang.

Following Wang Fugui's advice, A Zhai angrily ordered Ya Dang to immediately shut down the Izakaya and "destroy" all the renovations—the sauna, garden, and bar—insisting they were ruining his family's ancestral home. He threatened Ya Dang with expulsion if he couldn't restore the house to its original state. Calmly, Ya Dang presented A Zhai with a box overflowing with cash, explaining it was "today's profits."

Stunned by the substantial sum, A Zhai faltered, questioning if it was truly from just one day, and became visibly conflicted about his earlier demand to destroy the Izakaya. Still pondering his decision, A Zhai comically tried to consult his cat, Ba Yi, but its ambiguous barks offered no clear answer. Xia Wa then appeared, earnestly pleading with A Zhai not to tear down the Izakaya.

She admitted her previous thoughts were "petty" and now appreciated the beauty and comfort of the renovated home with its garden and spa. More practically, she highlighted that the Izakaya provided them with a source of income, independence, and a solution to their high electricity bills. Unable to resist Xia Wa's sincere appeal, A Zhai reluctantly agreed to let the Izakaya remain, making sure Ya Dang understood that his concession was solely for Xia Wa's sake.

Delighted, Xia Wa suggested she and Ya Dang go out and play after recharging. Ya Dang then asked A Zhai, as the head of the household, to name the Izakaya. After a moment, A Zhai, considering their unique household, named it "Zhai Ji D," which was then set to officially open for business the following day.

Episode 6 Recap

As a robot, Adam was programmed to complete his objectives. With A Zhai's approval, the izakaya was officially named "Zhai Ji D" and commenced operations. Adam displayed exceptional business acumen, establishing themed days from Monday to Saturday, including Uniform Day, Belly Dance Day, Hula Day, and Pasodoble Day. He and Xia Wa would dress in sailor outfits, Indian attire, grass skirts, and bullfighting costumes, offering customers a diverse and exotic experience.

The profits far exceeded A Zhai's expectations, with a continuous flow of income that Adam and Xia Wa diligently handed over to him, quickly making A Zhai immensely wealthy. However, A Zhai found himself increasingly unhappy. He felt particularly distressed watching Xia Wa constantly attending to Adam. Driven by his discontent, A Zhai, dressed in a fur coat and gold chain, arranged a lavish banquet at a hotel and invited Wang Fugui.

Upon seeing A Zhai's setup and hearing his veiled story, Wang Fugui quickly deduced that A Zhai was talking about himself, pointing out that A Zhai, a seasoned recluse, had no friends besides him. Seeing that his secret was out, A Zhai no longer held back, confiding all his troubles and the truth about Xia Wa.

He explained to Wang Fugui that Xia Wa was a robot from the future, whom he had bought with all his savings, hoping she would replace Penny and be with him forever. However, Xia Wa became bound to Adam instead, making A Zhai deeply unhappy. He then revealed his decision to take action and modify Xia Wa's program so she would rebind to him, a plan that required Wang Fugui's assistance.

After enjoying their meal at the hotel, A Zhai and Wang Fugui, laden with prepared bags, headed to A Zhai's house. In A Zhai's small warehouse, they busied themselves designing the program modifications. Meanwhile, Adam was cheerfully decorating the house, planning a birthday party for A Zhai.

Once the modifications were complete, A Zhai emerged, feigning nonchalance, and instructed Adam to take a lunch box to a classroom at school and wait for him there, emphasizing that he shouldn't leave until A Zhai arrived. Adam, carrying the carefully prepared lunch, departed for A Zhai's school. With Adam gone, A Zhai and Wang Fugui initiated their plan. Dressed in a suit, A Zhai knocked on Xia Wa's door.

Xia Wa, surprised by his formal attire, asked if he was going on a date, to which A Zhai confirmed it was indeed a date, but not outside the house. He then revealed that it was his birthday and confessed that he had never spent his birthday with a girl before. He explained that Xia Wa's presence had given him the courage he previously lacked and asked her to celebrate with him.

He led Xia Wa to the backyard, where she was astonished to find a beautifully arranged candlelit dinner in the small garden. A Zhai proudly presented a power strip he had modified, adorned with sparkling diamonds. Xia Wa was visibly excited. A Zhai, sensing her thoughts, encouraged her to try charging with it immediately, assuring her that she shouldn't feel embarrassed.

As Xia Wa eagerly plugged herself in, a sudden flash of electricity and sparks erupted, causing her to instantly faint. A Zhai silently wished for everything to be better, apologizing to Xia Wa as she lost consciousness.

Episode 7 Recap

Following a surge of electricity, Xia Wa collapsed unconscious. Wang Fugui emerged from the shadows to assist A Zhai in moving her, but to their surprise, Xia Wa was incredibly heavy, making it nearly impossible for them to carry her. Wang Fugui speculated that she might be made of lead. Just then, the doorbell rang. A Zhai, startled, opened the door to find Ya Dang and all the anime club members.

Panicked, A Zhai quickly shut the door, but the bell rang again, forcing him to welcome everyone inside. A Zhai had instructed Ya Dang to wait for him at the school classroom. However, Meng Shan arrived at the classroom to retrieve something and coincidentally met Ya Dang, whom A Zhai had introduced as his "Little Uncle." Ya Dang explained that A Zhai had told him to prepare dinner for a club meeting.

Meng Shan, realizing it was A Zhai's birthday, suggested they all surprise him together, leading them to A Zhai's house. Ya Dang had meticulously decorated the izakaya, his programming causing him to treat A Zhai like a girlfriend. The space was adorned with pink balloons and "Happy Birthday My Love" signs, creating an unexpectedly romantic atmosphere. Meng Shan, a seasoned fujoshi, immediately sensed something amiss.

Her intuition told her that Ya Dang was not A Zhai's "Little Uncle" and they might be an unofficial fan-fiction couple. She openly questioned A Zhai about Ya Dang being his "Little Uncle," pointing out the unusual setup and a photo of A Zhai and Ya Dang together, jokingly suggesting they seemed like a couple.

A Zhai, flustered, tried to dismiss her suspicions by claiming Ya Dang was just trying out his new phone camera and quickly took a picture with Wang Fugui. Meng Shan remained unconvinced, muttering to herself that something was off. Later, Na Na discovered a "Dream House" model among the decorations. Believing such a gift symbolized building a "love nest," she asked who it was for.

Ya Dang began to answer truthfully, but A Zhai quickly interrupted him, claiming the "Dream House" was Ya Dang's gift to Na Na. He spun the tale that Ya Dang had fallen in love with Na Na at first sight at the anime club, and the birthday party was an elaborate ruse for Ya Dang to propose with a ring hidden in the cake, as Ya Dang had been too shy to confess his feelings for her directly.

Na Na, flattered and exhibiting severe princess syndrome, declared that many people pursued her and she would "consider" Ya Dang's proposal. Fearing Ya Dang would inadvertently reveal their secret, A Zhai pulled him into a private room. A Zhai chastised Ya Dang for embarrassing him in front of his classmates and warned him not to disclose that he was a robot boyfriend A Zhai had bought. Ya Dang, confused, explained he only wanted to celebrate A Zhai's birthday.

In a moment of panic, A Zhai cornered Ya Dang against the wall (a "wall-slam") just as a fellow student, Jin Gang, tried to enter the bathroom in the same room. A Zhai hastily covered by pretending to be a "good bro" accompanying Jin Gang to the restroom. However, the door soon opened again, revealing all the classmates, including Meng Shan, who looked on with a knowing smirk, clearly misinterpreting the "wall-slam" as a romantic gesture.

While the party unfolded, Wang Fugui single-handedly struggled to move the incredibly heavy, unconscious Xia Wa. He managed to carry her through a small grove before making his way to the izakaya to join the birthday celebration. After the guests departed, A Zhai and Wang Fugui retrieved Xia Wa from the grove and took her to a small warehouse. There, they connected her to a modification program.

Wang Fugui unexpectedly discovered that Xia Wa, being a second-hand robot, retained data from four previous personality settings. Her first owner was an aging gang boss who, despite his declining health, wanted to maintain dominance and programmed Xia Wa as a "gangster girl" enforcer. The second owner was a resentful woman seeking revenge on her ex-husband, who set Xia Wa's personality as a "scheming woman" that caused the ex-husband's family immense suffering.

The third owner was a priest who wanted a spiritual partner, and Xia Wa adopted the persona of a "white lotus" saintly figure, diligently helping people and purifying souls. The fourth owner was Ya Dang, and the "silly sweet" program installed then was actually set by A Zhai. Wang Fugui explained that A Zhai was, in effect, Xia Wa's fifth owner. He began the reprogramming process and then left, ensuring A Zhai would be the first person Xia Wa saw when she awoke.

Episode 8 Recap

After Xia Wa fainted, A Zhai and Wang Fu Gui struggled to move her heavy body to a small forest. Later, after A Zhai's birthday party, they brought her to a small warehouse to connect her to a modification program. Fu Gui had previously discovered that Xia Wa, as a second-hand robot, had four previous modes: a gangster girl, a scheming woman, a saintly white lotus, and a naive girl.

At A Zhai’s urging, the hacker Fu Gui started the modification program. Fu Gui was worried that Xia Wa would see him and bind with him again, which would make all their efforts futile. He told A Zhai to wait for the progress bar to complete on his phone and make sure he was the first person Xia Wa saw when she woke up.

Fu Gui then rushed off, leaving a delighted A Zhai to wait for Xia Wa to awaken. A Zhai left the warehouse and went to Ya Dang’s izakaya to get some food. From the software on A Zhai’s phone, Ya Dang accurately guessed what A Zhai had been up to and questioned him about modifying Xia Wa. A Zhai brazenly admitted it.

Ya Dang was agitated because he knew that haphazardly modifying a robot's program could cause it to malfunction, leading to unpredictable consequences. A Zhai dismissed Ya Dang’s concerns as alarmist, declaring his intention to reset Xia Wa’s program and live a happy life with her. Ya Dang, who had been bound to A Zhai from the start, was heartbroken upon hearing this.

When the activation program finished, A Zhai rushed to the warehouse, only to find Ya Dang’s warnings had come true. The Xia Wa before him was now dressed in a black leather jacket, sporting bright red lipstick, and radiating a ruthless aura. Her inner gangster girl persona had been activated. As the first person Xia Wa saw, A Zhai naturally became her target for enslavement. Xia Wa beat him up, leaving him bruised and battered.

A Zhai sought help from Ya Dang at the izakaya, but Ya Dang remained aloof, questioning if this wasn't exactly the different Xia Wa that A Zhai had wanted. Xia Wa burst into the izakaya, taking charge and placing Ya Dang above A Zhai in the household hierarchy. She made it clear that A Zhai had to obey her commands. From that moment on, A Zhai’s life became a living hell.

He was forced to do chores, such as washing clothes and cleaning, day and night, and even earn money. If he slacked off, Xia Wa would whip him, causing A Zhai immense suffering. One day, a group of Northeastern hooligans came to Ya Dang’s izakaya and demanded pot-braised meat, refusing to listen to Ya Dang's explanations that it was a Japanese-styled Izakaya and clearly looking for trouble.

Xia Wa stepped in with an imposing presence and, without a word, beat them into submission until they knelt and begged for mercy. Xia Wa explained that she had once been a gangster girl abroad, but upon arriving in China, she decided to adapt to the harmonious society and live peacefully. However, she couldn't tolerate people bullying those close to her right at her doorstep. The hooligans immediately submitted to Xia Wa. From then on, Xia Wa acquired a group of followers.

Episode 9 Recap

Following the activation of the "gangster queen" program, Xia Wa began leading a group of followers on daily patrols, initiating frequent fights and quickly establishing a fearsome reputation in the neighborhood. This situation increasingly entangled A Zhai. A Zhai lamented that Xia Wa had become frightening, enjoying daily fights and forcing him to clean the streets with rags until he cried. He missed his peaceful life.

He also found more and more people engaged in what he described as "creepy rituals" at his home. Local snack shop owners, seeking protection from Xia Wa, gathered at A Zhai's home to complain about a bully who, thanks to his relative "Mr. Big"—ranked 233 on the Forbes List—monopolized their supplies with bad ingredients, forced them to use dirty oil, and unfairly increased their rent without providing invoices. They revealed that even Ya Dang had been bullied by this individual.

Xia Wa, enraged by this information, demanded to know who Mr. Big was and declared her intention to confront him. A Zhai cautioned her that Mr. Big could "crush her to death" with his wealth, but Xia Wa dismissed his concerns, saying that they would first deal with Mr. Big's associates and then eliminate Mr. Big himself. Desperate to stop Xia Wa's chaotic behavior, A Zhai approached Ya Dang.

He complained about Ya Dang's recent coldness and dismissive attitude towards his "nagging," apologized, and begged Ya Dang to tell Xia Wa to stop tormenting him. Ya Dang reminded him that these were the consequences of his own actions, saying, "Isn't this what you wanted? And don't forget that I've warned you before." He also stated that he felt uncomfortable with A Zhai forcefully changing Xia Wa's setup, which was why he hadn't intervened.

A Zhai, feeling like he had acquired two masters instead of robots, grew angry. A Zhai confronted Wang Fugui, blaming him for corrupting Xia Wa and turning her into a "single-minded martial artist." He demanded his sweet, adorable Xia Wa back. Wang Fugui explained that residual data on Xia Wa's hard disk from the flawed program installation was responsible for her current state.

He proposed rebooting her to revert her to her original settings, revealing that the reboot button was located in her mouth, and enthusiastically urged A Zhai to kiss her. Later that night, A Zhai and Wang Fugui snuck into Xia Wa's room, dressed in dark clothing. However, Xia Wa detected their presence and attacked them, physically punishing them until Ya Dang intervened and ordered Xia Wa to stop and return to her room.

A Zhai then asked Ya Dang to help revert Xia Wa's personality, explaining that the reboot button was in her mouth and suggesting that Ya Dang kiss her since Xia Wa liked him. Ya Dang refused, stating that he didn't like Xia Wa. A Zhai argued that it was "just acting." Ya Dang countered by challenging A Zhai to kiss him, which A Zhai immediately refused, proving Ya Dang's point: "You can't kiss someone you don't like either.

Just like how I can't kiss Xia Wa." Bruised and desperate, A Zhai clung to Ya Dang's leg, begging for help. Ya Dang reiterated that begging was pointless. As A Zhai pleaded, Xia Wa re-entered the room and warned A Zhai not to speak to Ya Dang again. Then, unexpectedly, she asked A Zhai for directions to Lutheran Road, revealing her intention to "get rid of some people" and leading A Zhai out with her.

Episode 10 Recap

Xia Wa arrived at the KTV and confronted the bully and his henchmen. Despite the bully's pleas of misunderstanding, Xia Wa declared her intention to hit him and warned him that if he ever dared to bully the owners on gourmet street again, he would be "dead meat." The bully threatened to pulverize her before calling out to his "Uncle" for help. Mr. Big, the bully's relative, then appeared.

He publicly chastised his nephew for misusing his name to act wildly. However, he then turned to Xia Wa, stating that while his nephew might have erred, it was not her place to intervene, as it caused him to lose face. Xia Wa, undeterred, declared she didn't care who his uncle was; anyone who dared to bully Zhai Ji D or any other shop on the street would face her wrath.

Mr. Big feigned admiration, claiming he once behaved similarly, but then asserted that while he didn't mind her beating his nephew, his reputation would suffer if word got out. He challenged her to "teach him" what he should do. Xia Wa responded by punching Mr. Big squarely in the face. She then stated she had hit both him and his nephew, making things even, and calmly walked away.

Furious, Mr. Big yelled for her to come back and later expressed extreme irritation. A Zhai followed Xia Wa on their way back, filled with dread. He feared Mr. Big's inevitable retaliation and believed that with Xia Wa's current aggressive personality, this conflict would never end. Deciding he couldn't wait any longer, A Zhai resolved to reset Xia Wa's program.

He desperately approached Ya Dang, offering to let Ya Dang kiss him if it would persuade him to then kiss Xia Wa and help. Ya Dang slowly leaned in towards A Zhai. However, just before their lips touched, Ya Dang stopped. He stated that he could never do anything that would make A Zhai unhappy. With that, he turned and left, promising to take care of Xia Wa. Not long after, Ya Dang emerged from Xia Wa's room.

He told A Zhai that he hadn't actually performed the reset action, but Xia Wa's personality had already changed, transforming her back into her gentle "little bunny" self. A Zhai was in disbelief, questioning who could have possibly kissed her if Ya Dang hadn't, feeling "cheated on." Xia Wa, now sweet and apologetic, approached A Zhai, expressing deep sorrow for the harm her previous violent actions had caused him.

She offered to blow on his injuries and vowed to apologize to Zhai Ji D for any trouble. As A Zhai had requested, she disbanded her subordinates, apologizing to them for causing trouble and instructing them that "violence cannot solve the problem." Her former henchmen reluctantly dispersed, bidding "Goodbye Jiang Hu" (Goodbye to the martial world).

A Zhai was immensely satisfied, relieved that their life had shifted from constant danger to calm tranquility, allowing him to enjoy Xia Wa's gentle nature once more. Despite his happiness, the recent events made A Zhai cautious. To prepare for any potential pursuit by Mr. Big, he gave Ya Dang a specially modified keychain with a built-in GPS tracker.

He instructed Ya Dang that should he press the button on the keychain, Ya Dang must immediately appear before him, regardless of the circumstances, and resolve his problems. This seemingly unreasonable request pleased Ya Dang, as it signified A Zhai's acceptance of him. Ya Dang, intrigued, then questioned if it was a "couple's keychain" or even a "sex toy," pointing out its pink color, small size, vibration function, waterproof nature, and USB charging capability.

A Zhai dismissed his comments, calling him "lame." Still pondering how Xia Wa's personality could have suddenly changed without Ya Dang's intervention, A Zhai sought out Wang Fugui. Wang Fugui, eager to take credit, falsely claimed he was the one who kissed Xia Wa, thereby rebooting her program. He even threatened to kiss her again if A Zhai continued to doubt him. While A Zhai was still processing this, his phone rang.

It was Meng Shan, the president of the anime club, calling to deliver bad news: their rehearsal site had been taken by the student council. A Zhai tried to stop them from coming to his house, fearing they would see Xia Wa, but it was too late. Soon after, a group of anime club members arrived at A Zhai's house to discuss strategies. They vented their frustrations, primarily targeting Student Council President Su Zixuan.

They recounted how Su Zixuan had cheated on Penny, their main cosplayer, causing her heartbreak and prompting her to leave for Japan as an exchange student. Despite Penny's absence, they recalled her earnest request for them to continue the annual anime festival, especially the "Dragon Knight show," a tradition they refused to let die. Meng Shan expressed her determination to uphold Penny's dreams and protect the club.

They argued over who Penny had specifically asked to continue the festival, but soon redirected their anger back to Su Zixuan, labeling him a "scum" for his infidelity and delusional behavior. Meng Shan then attempted to negotiate with Su Zixuan to reclaim their rehearsal space but was met with a firm refusal. Su Zixuan explained that due to limited school resources, the student council had reallocated the room to a "more encouragement-worthy club and department," calling it a routine decision. Frustrated, Meng Shan left, vowing that her anime club, with the help of "WFG" (Wang Fugui), would torment Su Zixuan.

Episode 11 Recap

Due to Penny's departure, Student Council President Su Zixuan announced the cancellation of the anime festival and reclaimed the anime club's rehearsal hall. The club members were disheartened and deeply frustrated, having poured much effort into the festival. Club President Meng Shan and other members tried repeatedly to persuade Su Zixuan, but he remained unmoved, stating that without Penny, there was no need for the festival.

Su Zixuan explained that school resources were limited and had been reallocated to more "encouragement-worthy" clubs. Despite various attempts, including an illogical argument using Murphy's Law from Wang Fugui and a dramatic, improvised theatrical plea by Na Na, Su Zixuan reiterated his decision to deny the anime club the auditorium and the festival. A Zhai, deeply upset by the club's predicament, confronted Su Zixuan.

He accused Su Zixuan of cheating on Penny, which caused her to leave for Japan, and criticized him for not taking responsibility but instead punishing the anime club. A Zhai passionately argued that holding the anime festival was Penny's last wish before she left. Su Zixuan's assistant intervened, but Su Zixuan himself callously acknowledged that Penny had left because of him, yet dismissed it, stating she was gone and the club was only famous because of her.

He declared that the anime festival would not happen unless Penny returned. A Zhai left, devastated, but Su Zixuan's final words planted a seed of an idea: if Penny returned, the festival could proceed. Back home, A Zhai reflected on Su Zixuan's words, realizing that if Penny somehow reappeared, they might get the venue back. Xia Wa, sensing A Zhai's despair, asked about his sadness. Upon learning the situation, she offered a solution: she would impersonate Penny.

A Zhai, seeing a glimmer of hope, decided to act on this plan. That night, A Zhai and Wang Fugui covertly entered the school's computer room. A Zhai explained to Wang Fugui that they needed to hack the school's website to quickly reactivate Penny's school profile, allowing Xia Wa to return to school as Penny in time for the anime festival. Wang Fugui, though finding it an exciting and difficult task, agreed to help.

A Zhai made sure to tell Wang Fugui not to inform Ya Dang about their scheme. The following day, anime club members were disconsolately packing up their belongings, preparing to go home. A Zhai stopped them, then dramatically drew back a stage curtain. A beautifully dressed Xia Wa emerged, captivating everyone. She announced her return from Japan, claiming to be Penny and declaring her intention to rejoin the anime club.

As Xia Wa had been modeled after Penny, her appearance was convincing, and no one doubted her identity. The club members were overjoyed and heaped praise on A Zhai for bringing "Penny" back. Xia Wa, still in her "Little White Rabbit" mode, sweetly asked A Zhai to help her change, and he, flustered but pleased, complied. A Zhai felt like a winner.

Later, Ya Dang arrived at A Zhai's place and was surprised to find A Zhai packing Xia Wa's luggage. A Zhai informed him that Xia Wa was moving into the girls' dorm and from now on, she was Penny. Ya Dang expressed concern, reminding A Zhai that Xia Wa was not truly Penny and that her personality was still unstable after the program reboot. He warned that playing with fire could lead to severe consequences if she lost control again.

A Zhai, however, dismissed Ya Dang's worries, believing him to be overly cautious. Unbeknownst to A Zhai, Xia Wa had transitioned from her "Little White Rabbit" mode to a more cunning and manipulative one, a change that would soon manifest in her interactions. Xia Wa, now appearing as Penny at school, subtly guided conversations when she overheard students gossiping about her past breakup with Su Zixuan.

She feigned innocence, hinting that the breakup wasn't because Su Zixuan cheated on her, but rather to protect his "self-respect." This cryptic explanation led the gossiping students to widely speculate and conclude that Su Zixuan's inability to perform sexually was the true reason for their split. The rumor quickly spread throughout the school. Meanwhile, Su Zixuan, having seen Penny's return, approached Xia Wa, hoping to reconcile and explain himself.

Xia Wa, however, calmly rejected him, stating she already had someone she liked. This fueled the rumors about Su Zixuan's alleged impotence, much to his bewilderment and the amusement of the students, including A Zhai, who was shocked by the speed at which the scandalous gossip spread. Xia Wa then sweetly offered A Zhai food. Later, students discussed how close A Zhai and "Penny" seemed, with some remarking that A Zhai must have gone to Japan to bring her back.

That night, Ya Dang arrived at the school to bring A Zhai some clothes, as he had predicted a change in the weather. While there, A Zhai spotted Mr. Boss approaching, seemingly looking for Xia Wa to exact his revenge. A Zhai immediately rushed to warn Xia Wa of the impending danger.

Episode 12 Recap

Su Zixuan, having learned that rumors about him were spreading, furiously confronted Xia Wa. He demanded that she explain the situation to everyone, or he would revoke the anime club's access to the exhibition venue. Just then, Mr. Big arrived with his subordinates, looking for Xia Wa to settle a score. Seeing the formidable group, Su Zixuan panicked and tried to slip away.

However, Xia Wa intentionally pulled him back, introduced him as her beloved boyfriend in front of Mr. Big, and warned Mr. Big not to harm him. In this way, Xia Wa subtly shifted Mr. Big's anger towards Su Zixuan. Fearful of the malice in Mr. Big's eyes, Su Zixuan quickly clarified that he and "Penny" had already broken up.

Xia Wa persisted with her ploy, telling Su Zixuan that she broke up with him because she feared Mr. Big would seek revenge and involve him. She gazed at Su Zixuan, asking him to remember her smile, before bravely stepping in front of him and urging him to leave quickly through an alley behind them while she would stop Mr. Big.

Deeply moved by Xia Wa's dramatic act, Su Zixuan declared his resolve to protect her, insisting that she leave to find help while he would hold off Mr. Big and his men. Xia Wa feigned going for help, but as soon as she left, she locked the door, leaving Su Zixuan alone to be beaten by Mr. Big's group. Adam, however, saw through Xia Wa's deception.

He confronted her, questioning how she could remember Mr. Big if she truly had no memory of her past as a "bad girl." Xia Wa attempted to explain that she only remembered hearing about him, and that her current actions were meant to repay A Zhai for problems she caused in her previous personality.

But Adam refuted her claims, pointing out that as a robot without an emotional module, she couldn't genuinely feel guilt or love for A Zhai, making all her recent actions a performance. He also highlighted that the true Xia Wa would never have framed Su Zixuan. Under Adam's relentless questioning, Xia Wa had no choice but to admit her true motive: she was jealous of A Zhai for taking Adam from her and sought revenge on A Zhai.

Adam tried to stop her, urging her to come back with him, but Xia Wa struggled, refusing to leave before finishing her plan. Just then, A Zhai arrived, seeing Adam holding Xia Wa and mistakenly thinking he was bullying her. He told Adam that Mr. Big was looking for them and they needed to hide.

Adam tried to explain, warning A Zhai that Xia Wa was not who she seemed, and if her identity as a robot were exposed, A Zhai would be in even greater danger than from Mr. Big. A Zhai, however, dismissed Adam's words as irrational jealousy, believing that as long as he, Adam, and Wang Fugui kept silent, no one would know Xia Wa was a robot.

He then commanded Adam to let go of Xia Wa and go home to calm down. A Zhai pulled Xia Wa into a classroom, still remarking on how "funny" Adam was for causing trouble. Once inside, Xia Wa revealed her true intentions to A Zhai, stating that since Adam had already discovered her motive, she no longer had any reason to pretend.

She explained that robots have a memory module and demanded that A Zhai remove Adam's memory module and give it to her so she could reprogram Adam to love only her. She threatened A Zhai that if he refused, she would reveal her true identity as a robot and his "obscure" act of custom-making her in Penny's image to satisfy his own desires during tomorrow's school rehearsal meeting, publicly humiliating him to death.

A Zhai, heartbroken and feeling slapped in the face, reluctantly agreed to her demands, knowing he couldn't tell Adam about this. Xia Wa warned him that if he told Adam, she had a thousand ways to make his life miserable. She then remarked that seeing him in such distress made her happy, before casually mentioning that Su Zixuan was currently "taking care of" Mr. Big.

A Zhai immediately called Wang Fugui, who clarified that a robot's memory module was essentially like a hard drive, but he didn't know its exact location on Adam, speculating it would be hidden somewhere secretive. A Zhai then tried to find it by apologizing to Adam and offering him new pajamas, hoping to get him to undress. When this proved ineffective in his room, A Zhai, advised by Wang Fugui, took Adam to a bathhouse, clearing out all other patrons.

A Zhai tried to use the custom of friends bathing together to check Adam's body, but Adam's logical resistance and then Adam's attempt to wash A Zhai's back made the situation comically awkward for A Zhai. Despite his efforts, A Zhai found no external module.

Wang Fugui then suggested that like a character in a manga, the module might be in a more private, internal location, which only added to A Zhai's frustration and despair about his predicament with the two robots. Later, Xia Wa called A Zhai, reminding him that the deadline was tomorrow at 3 PM, and if she didn't get what she wanted, he would be dead.

Episode 13 Recap

Having failed to locate Ya Dang's memory module, A Zhai and Wang Fugui decided to change their strategy and focus their efforts on Xia Wa to neutralize the threat she posed. Under the cover of night, A Zhai and Wang Fugui embarked on their mission to sneak into the girls' dormitory. Their attempt quickly went awry when Wang Fugui, due to his portly build, became hopelessly stuck on a clothesline pole while trying to climb over the wall.

Unable to free him, A Zhai reluctantly left Wang Fugui behind and proceeded alone. Shortly after, several girls from the dormitory discovered Wang Fugui, mistaking him for a pervert, and proceeded to beat him, leaving him in an agonizing predicament. Before continuing his mission, A Zhai pressed a button on his keychain, ensuring that Ya Dang would be summoned to his aid if needed. He then made his way to Xia Wa's room.

A Zhai firmly told her that he would not hand over Ya Dang's emotional mode, fearing that once she got what she wanted, she would become even more uncontrollable. With an eerie smile, Xia Wa warned A Zhai that if she didn't get Ya Dang's "memory module," she would intentionally cut the power during tomorrow's rehearsal, causing A Zhai public humiliation.

To further complicate matters, Xia Wa then deliberately screamed for help, drawing a crowd, and publicly accused A Zhai of being a pervert attempting to assault her. Panicked, A Zhai rushed to the window, intending to escape by jumping, but hesitated, intimidated by the height of the third floor. Just then, Ya Dang arrived below, urging A Zhai to jump and trust him to catch him. A Zhai jumped, and Ya Dang safely caught him, taking him back home.

Later, A Zhai explained Xia Wa's blackmail and her demand for Ya Dang's memory module. Ya Dang clarified that he doesn't possess a memory module like Xia Wa; instead, he has an evolving emotional mode that adapts to his owner. He believed Xia Wa had misunderstood his design. Ya Dang promised to protect A Zhai and stop Xia Wa, reassuring him not to worry. However, A Zhai remained concerned about the upcoming rehearsal.

He also learned that Wang Fugui had been caught and beaten by the teacher for breaking into the dorm, forcing A Zhai to replace him as the dragon in the play. The next day, during the rehearsal for "The Dragon and the Knight," A Zhai was filled with apprehension, fearing Xia Wa's disruptive plans. Despite initial reluctance from the director to alter the script, A Zhai decided to take matters into his own hands.

During the performance, A Zhai, playing the dragon, drastically deviated from the script, refusing to be defeated by Jin Gang, who was playing the first knight. When Jin Gang tried to "save" the princess (played by Xia Wa), A Zhai declared the princess was his. The audience, initially bored, grew confused but intrigued by the unexpected changes. As the chaos unfolded, Ya Dang, summoned by A Zhai's keychain, appeared on stage as a second knight.

He punched Jin Gang, effectively taking him out of the play. Then, to everyone's surprise, Ya Dang "rescued" the princess by roughly throwing her aside, before securing her inside a cage covered with a cloth, completely disrupting Xia Wa's intentions. The audience found this unexpected twist refreshing and applauded enthusiastically, with many remarking on the creative reversal that made the play's title finally make sense.

The school director, pleased with the audience's reaction, decided to fully support the anime club's festival, much to Su Zixuan's apparent concern. After the performance, as the cast took their bows, Ya Dang went to find Xia Wa. To his shock, he discovered a mysterious masked individual manipulating Xia Wa's program. Ya Dang tried to intervene, but the masked person completed the modification and vanished in a puff of smoke before Ya Dang could catch them.

Episode 14 Recap

Late at night, amidst a thunderstorm, A Zhai was startled by eerie crying. He cautiously investigated, wanting to escape, but then stumbled upon a disheveled figure in white, resembling Sadako. Terrified, he fell to his knees, begging for mercy and claiming innocence. To his surprise, the figure was Xia Wa, whose program had been recently altered. She was now in a "Virgin Mary" mode, overwhelmed by guilt and sorrow.

Xia Wa tearfully apologized to A Zhai, lamenting her past actions of hitting people, lying, and even attempting to expose him publicly. A Zhai, growing impatient with her incessant weeping, asked if she could stop, to which she replied she couldn't, unless her hard drive was removed. He suggested that crying was useless and that she should apologize and make amends with those she had wronged through practical action.

A Zhai, attempting to take advantage of her new benevolent state, encouraged her to start with the "victim right in front" of her and "love him" to comfort himself. However, Adam, who was on the phone with A Zhai discussing Xia Wa's personality change, intervened, telling A Zhai to go to sleep and curtailing his manipulative advances.

Xia Wa, taking A Zhai's words seriously, decided to take action, beginning her apologies with Su Zixuan and Mr. Big, both of whom were bruised and bandaged from their recent brawl. She sincerely apologized to Su Zixuan, admitting he was beaten because she had intentionally directed Mr. Big's aggression towards him, and she did not like Su Zixuan.

Su Zixuan, misinterpreting her apology as a declaration of love, claimed he was happy to suffer for her, believing it proved her affection. Xia Wa, however, bluntly confessed she had lied and never cared for him. She then apologized to Mr. Big for her previous violence.

Mr. Big also attempted to portray his actions as protective, but Xia Wa again confessed her lies, stating that his hitting Su Zixuan neither hurt nor saddened her, and she didn't consider them evenly matched. Both men were left bewildered and displeased, realizing they had been manipulated and suffered for no reason.

Xia Wa, expressing extreme regret, offered to make amends by giving Su Zixuan a brick to hit Mr. Big, expressing it as a way to alleviate the anger in her heart. This suggestion further bewildered the two men, as Xia Wa's tone implied their suffering had nothing to do with her. Xia Wa then remembered another grievance and showed Su Zixuan a new online post she had published as "Xiao Penny."

In the post, she clarified that their breakup was due to Su Zixuan cheating, not any personal inadequacy on his part, firmly stating he was "more than capable." This public announcement led to widespread condemnation of Su Zixuan among the students, much to his chagrin. Later, Xia Wa led Mr. Big to a serene spot to witness the sunrise.

She offered herself for him to hit her back as part of her apology, committing to apologize to everyone she had hurt until forgiven. Mr. Big accepted her apology but refused to strike a woman, choosing to let the matter rest, stating he was touched by her leniency. Xia Wa then imparted wisdom, telling him that despite his kind heart, he disguised himself with a tough exterior, masking a shallow, empty, and fragile inner child yearning for acceptance and recognition.

She urged him to abandon his defenses and mask, embrace mercy, and approach others with compassion, promising he would receive the same in return. When Mr. Big asked how, Xia Wa instructed him to compensate, confess, and apologize to all those he had bullied, emphasizing that humility, leniency, and love were essential for a harmonious and meaningful life. Mr. Big agreed to follow her advice.

Back at home, A Zhai confronted Xia Wa about her extreme apology methods, particularly the online post that exposed Su Zixuan. Xia Wa defended her actions, explaining that she needed to apologize and restore his reputation since she had caused his beating and lied to him, asking A Zhai if it wasn't the right approach. A Zhai, perhaps with a hint of sarcasm, affirmed her method was "commendable" and that one should always admit mistakes and confess lies.

Taking his words literally, Xia Wa announced she was going to the anime club. A Zhai quickly spoke to Adam, who realized Xia Wa was likely going to confess her biggest lie: pretending to be Penny. Concerned about A Zhai's reputation and potential exposure, Adam urged him to rush to the club to stop her. However, A Zhai arrived too late. Xia Wa had already confessed to the club members that she was not Penny and had been deceiving them.

To A Zhai's relief, the eccentric club members, including their president, dismissed her confession as a joke, believing she was simply "messing around." A Zhai then told Xia Wa to stop telling people she wasn't Penny, as she had already "apologized." A Zhai brought Xia Wa home, expressing his frustration that her public confessions almost led to Adam's identity being exposed and himself being labeled a pervert, which would ruin his life.

Xia Wa, however, insisted it was her fault, believing that without her, A Zhai and Adam would be happy. A Zhai countered that he wouldn't be happy without her, as she was his happiness. Xia Wa then concluded that if she was A Zhai's happiness, then Adam wouldn't be happy, and if Adam wasn't happy, A Zhai wouldn't be either.

Pondering this complicated dynamic, Xia Wa, from a "Virgin Mary" perspective, declared her new mission: to find a way to make A Zhai's happiness Adam's happiness, Adam's happiness her happiness, and ultimately, her happiness everyone's happiness. A Zhai, completely perplexed, admitted he didn't understand any of it.

Episode 15 Recap

Xia Wa, having entered her "Virgin Mary" mode, was determined to resolve the love triangle involving herself, A Zhai, and Ya Dang by finding a solution that would bring happiness to all three. Her plan centered on making A Zhai fall in love with Ya Dang. As the first step, Xia Wa initiated a visual strategy, filling A Zhai's room with images of same-sex couples, which left him speechless.

Ya Dang, present during this, subtly indicated that this was all Xia Wa's doing. Next, Xia Wa moved to an auditory approach. She informed A Zhai that Ya Dang mentioned his insomnia and she had downloaded lullabies for him. A Zhai was initially touched by her thoughtfulness, but upon playing the audio, he was horrified to hear Ya Dang's voice instructing him to relax and "come into my arms to feel the warmth of my hug."

A Zhai exclaimed that if he continued listening, his sexual orientation would truly be at risk. Xia Wa then presented a "love breakfast" consisting of heart-shaped food, claiming Ya Dang had personally made it. Ya Dang appeared uncomfortable, once again trying to distance himself from Xia Wa's machinations.

For her fourth step, titled "Before he even knows it, he's already on his way," Xia Wa secretly threw a bar of soap into the bathroom while A Zhai was showering, attempting to create the illusion that Ya Dang was peeking. Convinced this was another one of Xia Wa's tricks, A Zhai stormed out to confront her. He discovered her phone on the sofa, displaying a web page asking "How to turn a straight person gay?"

Furious, A Zhai realized Xia Wa's true intentions. He confronted her, declaring her elaborate schemes were the most difficult to deal with, calling her actions blatant matchmaking. A Zhai decided to use Xia Wa's own logic against her. He explained that she was confused about the nature of love, differentiating between "obsessive love" (like Xia Wa and Ya Dang) and "no love" (like Ya Dang and himself).

He then argued that by Xia Wa's own logic (that she would be happy if the person she loved was happy), if "he" (A Zhai) was happy by being with Xia Wa, then Ya Dang (who, A Zhai asserted, would be happy if A Zhai was happy) would also be happy. Consequently, Xia Wa herself would be happy if Ya Dang was happy. Therefore, if A Zhai got what he wanted, all three would achieve happiness.

Unable to fully process this complex logical loop, Xia Wa agreed to A Zhai's proposal for a date the next day, much to A Zhai's internal delight. The next day, A Zhai arrived at the restaurant and ordered a couple's package, expecting Xia Wa. However, Ya Dang appeared instead. A Zhai then received a text message from Xia Wa stating, "I just really want the person I love to be happy."

Realizing Xia Wa's continued interference, A Zhai was forced to share the couple's meal with Ya Dang, attracting curious glances. When the waiter asked which of them wanted the "girl's meal," A Zhai became annoyed, and Ya Dang volunteered to take it. Embarrassed by the public's judgment, A Zhai declared they needed to leave and talk. Hoping to find a more masculine environment, A Zhai dragged Ya Dang to a bar.

Although A Zhai initially commented on the masculine atmosphere, they soon encountered a male couple. A Zhai tried to explain the complexities of love by citing tragic love stories like "Butterfly Lovers" and "Romeo and Juliet," emphasizing that love doesn't always guarantee a reciprocal outcome and is influenced by external factors. Ya Dang explained that as a service-oriented Love robot, his mission was to ensure A Zhai enjoyed the process, not necessarily the end result.

A Zhai admitted he preferred being friends with Ya Dang, appreciating his good treatment, patience, and protective nature against Xia Wa's antics, but found the idea of a romantic "binding relationship" strange. Ya Dang recalled A Zhai previously calling their relationship a misunderstanding, implying A Zhai was only with him because of Xia Wa, not out of friendship. A Zhai asserted that people could change, and he now genuinely valued Ya Dang as a friend.

Ya Dang clarified that after A Zhai's previous confession, he had reset his understanding to simply being a companion. However, Ya Dang pointed out that A Zhai's programmed charm and heart-moving abilities meant he couldn't help but continue to "hit on" him. A Zhai playfully wished Ya Dang were a girl so they could be together in another life, but Ya Dang pointed out they would both be girls then, leading A Zhai to conclude their same-gender situation was "unlucky."

Ya Dang expressed his understanding, agreeing to clarify their relationship with Xia Wa. He affirmed that a Love robot's true mission is to make the person they like happy through various means, not necessarily by obtaining them, and was willing to be A Zhai's companion. Upon returning home, A Zhai and Ya Dang were astonished to find a five-year-old boy in their house.

Xia Wa explained that she had found the child on the street; his name was Xiong Xiong, and he didn't have a mother. Xiong Xiong immediately took to them, asking A Zhai to be his dad and calling Xia Wa "Mom." Ya Dang, using his robot capabilities, evaluated Xiong Xiong's appearance negatively. Despite A Zhai's attempts to deny drinking heavily, Xia Wa confirmed he was drunk with a device, leaving A Zhai bewildered and wondering if he was dreaming.

Episode 16 (Ending) Recap

The previous day, A Zhai and Ya Dang were surprised to discover a five-year-old boy named Xiong Xiong in their home, whom Xia Wa explained she had found on the street. The next morning, A Zhai woke to find their home completely trashed by Xiong Xiong. Furious, A Zhai intended to discipline the boy, but Ya Dang intervened.

Ya Dang explained that he had already taken Xiong Xiong to the police station and believed they should let the child stay in their house until his parents could be found. A Zhai, still confused, sarcastically asked Ya Dang if he was going to become A Zhai's step-mother, which Ya Dang denied with bewilderment. At that moment, Xia Wa declared she now understood A Zhai and Ya Dang's relationship. Both A Zhai and Ya Dang were bewildered by her statement.

Xia Wa then expressed her heartbreak, believing she was pushing the man she loved into another's embrace, yet asserting it was the correct decision for Ya Dang's happiness. She stated that despite her jealousy and emotional pain, she would continue to support them, attributing her negative feelings to her own personality. She wished them happiness and promptly left. A Zhai, still puzzled, urged Ya Dang to follow her.

Ya Dang caught up with Xia Wa, explaining that his relationship with A Zhai was not what she imagined. He emphasized that he had already clarified the situation with A Zhai and asked her to stop her elaborate attempts to unite them. Xia Wa misunderstood, believing her efforts had failed and she remained an "obstruction" between them, suggesting she should simply disappear. To her surprise, Ya Dang agreed.

He revealed his suspicion that a "person in black" was behind her personality changes, showing her a futuristic gadget left behind by this individual. Ya Dang explained that this person posed a potential danger to A Zhai, and he needed Xia Wa to disappear for a while so he could investigate and remove the threat.

Xia Wa, contemplating the situation, felt this absence would allow her to finally understand the complex relationships between the three of them and the concept of selfless love. Ya Dang promised to find her a safe place and bring her back once the threat was neutralized, emphasizing that she and A Zhai were the most important people to him.

Later, Xia Wa confirmed to Ya Dang via phone that she had safely arrived at Meng Shan's cousin's house, a quiet and secure location. Ya Dang also informed Xia Wa that he already had some clues in his investigation. Unaware of these developments, A Zhai was shocked at an anime club meeting when Meng Shan announced that "Penny" was unwell and would be absent from rehearsals, with Ya Dang joining as a new member.

A Zhai confronted Ya Dang, demanding to know why Xia Wa was "unwell"—a concept that didn't apply to a robot—and why Ya Dang had joined the club without his prior knowledge. Ya Dang explained that he had hidden Xia Wa because her personality changes, induced by the man in black, could pose a threat to A Zhai, having already affected him twice.

Ya Dang reiterated that he joined the anime club to find the whereabouts of this mysterious man and would return Xia Wa once the threat was eliminated. A Zhai scoffed, accusing Ya Dang of having an ulterior motive and using the "man in black" as an excuse to get closer to him, claiming Ya Dang had betrayed their trust.

Meanwhile, Meng Shan had arranged for Xia Wa to stay at her wealthy art photographer cousin's house, a container home by the ocean. Meng Shan admitted she was helping Xia Wa because Ya Dang had agreed to join the anime club and rehearse "Dragon Knight" in exchange for her assistance in housing Xia Wa and keeping her location a secret.

Still angry and distraught over Xia Wa's disappearance, and suspecting Ya Dang had ulterior motives, A Zhai sought help from Wang Fugui to find Xia Wa. Wang Fugui used his computer skills to find an online post by "Xiao Penny" offering voice chats, video calls, and "offline meetings" for various fees. Misinterpreting this as Xia Wa selling herself, A Zhai quickly paid 2,000 Yuan for an offline meeting using Wang Fugui's phone.

They rushed to the provided address, which turned out to be an adult entertainment venue. After waiting for hours, the woman who appeared did not match the photo in the online post. The madam explained that all the pictures were sourced from the internet. Realizing they had been scammed, A Zhai accused them of fraud and threatened to call the police. When the police arrived, they questioned A Zhai and Wang Fugui.

Despite their insistence that they "didn't do anything," the police explained that the exchange of money constituted prostitution. As it was their first offense, they received a warning. However, when A Zhai then tried to report his girlfriend, "Xiao Penny," as missing, providing details about her age, role as a cosplayer, and last known contact two days prior (when he was confessing to her and gave her a coupon), the situation worsened.

The police contacted Meng Shan, who confirmed Penny was a cosplayer and that A Zhai had previously liked her but started pursuing Penny after being rejected, implying a "romantic dispute." Given A Zhai was the last person to see Penny and had a perceived romantic conflict, the police declared him their primary suspect for a potential kidnapping.

They informed him that if he couldn't provide Penny's family information and she wasn't found in time, they would file a case and require his assistance in the investigation. A Zhai protested, emphasizing he had come for help, but his words were met with skepticism.
