My Bargain Queen Episode 3 Recap
> My Bargain Queen Recap
Upon arriving at the hotel, Xia Qian thanked An An for his help and inquired about Sheng Zhening's room number, explaining it would facilitate their work communication. An An informed her that Sheng Zhening was in room No. 09, down the end of the hallway, but also cautioned her that Mr. Sheng valued quiet and disliked disturbances, suggesting she notify him if anything was needed.
Xia Qian acknowledged this, and noticing An An was feeling unwell with a slight cold, she politely left. Meanwhile, Fu Shuangshuang called Mu Xiaoyan to inquire about Qin Hebo. Mu Xiaoyan could only provide basic details: "Qin Hebo, 41 years old, single. Word has it that he's a bossy, serious, and mysterious man." Frustrated by the lack of useful information, Mu Xiaoyan lamented having "two big plates of potatoes to wash" and ended the call.
Later, while on the roof, Fu Shuangshuang discovered a stray tabby cat. Soon, Qin Hebo appeared, confirming the cat was his and asking her to keep it a secret since hotel employees were not allowed pets. Fu Shuangshuang agreed on the condition that she could come to "pet it in the future" and promised to bring it can food. Qin Hebo consented, mentioning the cat had been seriously ill when he found it.
Fu Shuangshuang then commended Qin Hebo's kindness for rescuing the ill cat, to which he expressed surprise, stating it was the first time someone called him kind. Based on her "good instinct," Fu Shuangshuang guessed Qin Hebo's profession, noting his "suit and hair gel" and reasoning that a boss wouldn't secretly keep a stray cat on the rooftop. Qin Hebo confirmed her guess, admitting he was a driver.
After introducing herself, Fu Shuangshuang realized Qin Hebo shared a surname with the Vice General Manager, joking about the unfairness of one being driven and the other driving. She then rushed off for roll call. Xia Qian informed Fu Shuangshuang over the phone that Sheng Zhening was difficult to approach, relying solely on An An for work matters. Fu Shuangshuang advised her to be more proactive, suggesting she bring him food or ask about work to build rapport.
Though Xia Qian felt awkward about being "more active," she prepared a fruit plate for Sheng Zhening. An An intercepted her at Sheng Zhening's door, explaining Sheng Zhening was in a meeting and asking Xia Qian to leave the fruit with him.
Later, Sheng Zhening thanked Xia Qian for the fruit plate but redirected her focus to the car group buying project, subtly indicating his preference for professional boundaries by asking if An An had informed her about specific car performance requirements. Xia Qian confirmed An An hadn't spoken to her about that aspect. A significant turn of events occurred when Xia Qian found An An suffering from a high fever.
She immediately attended to him, opening the windows for ventilation and chastising him for drinking while ill. Later, An An called Sheng Zhening, explaining his "severe flu" would prevent him from assisting for a week and that he had arranged for the "meticulous" Xia Qian to fill in. Sheng Zhening expressed his dislike for "strangers" in his room, but An An insisted Xia Qian wasn't a stranger and feigned a headache to end the call.
Xia Qian then meticulously managed Sheng Zhening's daily routine, preparing his meals, occasionally checking on An An's health, and reporting her duties, such as ironing his shirts without a single wrinkle and disinfecting his desk. Sheng Zhening simply acknowledged her efforts. As Xia Qian continued her duties for Sheng Zhening, Fu Shuangshuang continued her strategy, frequently going to the rooftop to pet the cat and meeting Qin Hebo more and more often.
Qin Hebo found Fu Shuangshuang always asking about him and grew suspicious. Unexpectedly, Fu Shuangshuang fabricated a story, claiming Qin Hebo owed her a "debt of love" and that they had a one-night stand. Hearing this, Qin Hebo was speechless with amusement, but he did not expose Fu Shuangshuang on the spot. Instead, he decided to investigate, instructing his assistant to look into a cleaning lady named Fu Shuangshuang in the Housekeeping Department.
His assistant later reported that Fu Shuangshuang had worked at a bargaining company called "Kankan Ertan," which Xia Qian was the head of. Qin Hebo immediately understood their true intention: they were there for Ning Meng's wedding. Xia Qian called Fu Shuangshuang to discuss the encrypted computer, explaining she couldn't access the files. Fu Shuangshuang suggested using common passwords like birthdays or significant dates, and suggested getting Sheng Zhening drunk to extract the password.
Xia Qian, though finding it a plausible method to extract the password, admitted Sheng Zhening might be too busy to cooperate. Later, Sheng Zhening visited An An, who expressed his belief that Xia Qian liked Sheng Zhening, citing her "weird" questions and early inquiries about his room. An An even praised Xia Qian as "pretty, considerate, smart, capable, and professional," suitable to be a "girlfriend. . . I mean, assistant."
Sheng Zhening sternly told An An to focus on his job, then provocatively asked if An An would quit his job if Xia Qian was so competent. An An feigned a relapse of his fever to avoid further discussion. Sheng Zhening then discovered Xia Qian's notebook, which contained his personal information along with a red heart drawn next to his name, confirming An An's suspicion.
Sheng Zhening instructed An An to "gently" inform Xia Qian that he wasn't considering personal relationships and that she shouldn't "invest too many feelings in him." He then subtly told Xia Qian that the cleaning of his room should be handled by a cleaning lady, suggesting he didn't want to "cause too much trouble" for her and redirecting her attention to an upcoming meeting with a car agent. Xia Qian appeared confused by the change.
Meanwhile, Fu Shuangshuang, still in contact with Qin Hebo (whom she believed was a driver), boasted to him about avenging him, claiming she drove Qin Hebo (the Vice General Manager, unknowingly) "as fast as Schumacher" and "freaked him out," leaving him with "trembling legs." She then told him not to get involved anymore, worrying about him losing his job, but also reminded him they were friends and should help each other, especially since he kept her cat a secret. Feeling guilty about his loyalty, Fu Shuangshuang leaned in and whispered, "Actually. . . I'm a spy!"
