Xia Qian, still undercover and trying to locate the star reviewer, was at the hotel restaurant when she spotted Sheng Zhening entering. Panicked, she quickly turned to leave, almost losing her balance. Sheng Zhening, however, caught up to her, his expression indicating he had already seen through her disguise. Despite her continued pretense, Sheng Zhening followed her to her room, where he playfully pushed her onto the bed, a moment unexpectedly witnessed by An An.
An An later apologized to Sheng Zhening for his unauthorized attempt to approach the hotel reviewer. He also defended Xia Qian, suggesting that Sheng Zhening had been overly harsh with her and even questioned if Sheng Zhening had developed feelings for Xia Qian. Sheng Zhening simply asked if An An still wanted his year-end bonus, which immediately silenced him. That night, both Sheng Zhening and Xia Qian found themselves restless, with Sheng Zhening's image persistently occupying Xia Qian's thoughts.
Meanwhile, Qin Hebo's assistant confirmed the identity of the star reviewer through a photograph and informed Qin Hebo of his presence at the hotel, suggesting they exploit the situation. Concurrently, Ning Meng insisted on holding a supplementary wedding vow ceremony in Building No. 2. He Zhijuan, despite feeling the pressure, made heartfelt declarations of love to Ning Meng.

At the same time, Sheng Zhening, Xia Qian, and the hotel reviewer were trapped in a malfunctioning elevator due to the power failure. The reviewer, suffering from claustrophobia, fainted. Xia Qian moved to perform artificial respiration, but Sheng Zhening stopped her, saying, "No. Just don't do that. Let me do this," and performed it himself. The idea faced strong opposition, with many shareholders arguing for selling the building due to its poor performance and the need for immediate damage control. Later, Sheng Zhening discreetly obtained the CCTV footage of himself and Xia Qian trapped in the elevator, saving it to a USB drive and his computer, then ensured it was deleted from the main system. To fund the renovation, Sheng Zhening instructed An An to sell off his personal assets, including his house and car. News of Sheng Zhening liquidating his possessions for the renovation quickly spread through the media, causing Xia Qian concern for his well-being.
She messaged him, and Sheng Zhening, playing the part of a down-and-out CEO, feigned destitution, claiming he would have to sleep on a park bench.
