Love Through a Millennium Episode 5 Recap
> Love Through a Millennium Recap
Jin Jing, having heard about a pervert following Lin Xiangxiang, expressed her concern. Lin Xiangxiang, with a hint of sorrow, stated that "he" would not appear before her again. Xia Xiaonan, observing Lin Xiangxiang's apparent regret, questioned why she seemed to feel a sense of loss. Back in the Han Dynasty, Gong Ming shared the history he had witnessed in the future with his mentor, revealing that Zhao Feiyan becomes empress and Empress Xu is ordered to die.
His mentor cautioned him against altering history, comparing it to attempting to defy a flowing river, warning of unforeseen consequences. Gong Ming, however, remained resolute in his belief that he must try to change the outcome. He then inquired about Wang Mang's recent activities from Ying Yue. Wang Mang sat washing his mother's feet, reminiscing about his childhood friendship with Gong Ming.
He reflected sadly on how he was about to lose his only confidant and anticipated that Ying Yue would never forgive him for his impending actions. Leaning on his mother, he sighed, realizing she was all he had left. Lin Xiangxiang, distraught by Gong Ming's departure, was surprised to spot him in the library. She rushed over and grabbed him. She requested his help in understanding the character of Empress Xu for her drama.
Gong Ming agreed, much to her delight. During their conversation, Lin Xiangxiang was thrilled to learn that Gong Ming was not married. Their discussion was interrupted when Xia Xiaonan, mistaking Gong Ming for the "pervert," threatened to call the police. Before she could act, Gong Ming suddenly vanished before their eyes, startling Xia Xiaonan who thought she had seen a ghost.
Xia Xiaonan suggested using media to expose Gong Ming, but Lin Xiangxiang refused, prompting Xia Xiaonan to realize that Lin Xiangxiang had feelings for him. Lin Xiangxiang warned her to keep it a secret. In the library, Gong Ming learned his own fate: he would be framed, exiled, and then die by poison. Knowing his life was nearing its end, Ying Yue urged him to flee immediately. However, he expressed concern for Empress Xu and decided to stay.
During the filming of Lin Xiangxiang's TV series, Han Yufei attempted to add a kissing scene, but the director rejected the idea. Han Yufei then took the opportunity to touch Lin Xiangxiang inappropriately and cautioned her to be careful of "the pervert." Lin Xiangxiang found herself constantly checking her phone, waiting for Gong Ming's call. Xia Xiaonan reminded her that Gong Ming was over two thousand years old and that their relationship would have no future.
Jin Jing visited the set and was drawn to Han Yufei's agent, Wu Tianxiu. Lin Xiangxiang asked the director if a historical figure named Gong Ming truly existed. The director informed her that Gong Ming only appeared in unofficial histories, accused of orchestrating the witchcraft case to frame the empress, leading to his exile and eventual suicide out of fear. Lin Xiangxiang deduced that Gong Ming was fated to die that year and was overcome with dread.
Wang Mang ordered the murder of the Taoist priest who testified in the witchcraft case and then framed Gong Ming. Gong Ming was brought to the imperial court, where the Wang family attacked him and implicated Empress Xu. Emperor Cheng was enraged and commanded Gong Ming's exile. Wang Mang visited Gong Ming in prison, promising to spare him the exile if he abandoned Empress Xu. Gong Ming refused, and Wang Mang shook his head in resignation.
Ying Yue confronted Wang Mang, criticizing his despicable act of framing Gong Ming for murder. Gong Ming, declining Ying Yue's offer to accompany him into exile, entrusted her with his last wishes concerning Empress Xu. Later, the Wang family elders instructed Wang Mang to eliminate Gong Ming completely. Wang Mang believed that Gong Ming, having lost the Emperor's trust, was no longer a threat. However, the elders secretly ordered Zi Xiu to assassinate Gong Ming.
Drinking alone at his residence, Wang Mang realized Zi Xiu was missing and sensed trouble. Zi Xiu's initial attempt to poison Gong Ming failed, prompting him to plan an assassination with archers. Lin Xiangxiang grieved over Gong Ming's impending fate. At that moment, her phone rang, and it was Gong Ming calling her.
