Love is in the Air Episode 4 Recap
> Love is in the Air Recap
After Fang Muye embraced Jiang Yiyi and apologized for his attitude, assuring her she would overcome her difficulties, he reflected silently on his own racing heartbeat. The next morning, Jiang Yiyi woke up, still feeling unsettled by the hug. She wondered if Fang Muye had a crush on her, but quickly dismissed the thought, convincing herself it was merely a polite, brotherly gesture, similar to how Westerners greet each other.
While Jiang Yiyi was in the kitchen scrubbing Fang Muye’s sneakers, which she had stained with red wine, Fang Muye emerged from his room. He asked her to wash the shirt she had cried on as well, jokingly telling her not to ruin it like she did his shoes. He then shared an exciting idea: inspired by computer animation’s motion-capture systems, he believed he could program a similar system to enhance the control of her robotic arm.
He had already rented equipment from an animation company and suggested they go to the gym to test it. Jiang Yiyi, surprised by his expertise, agreed. At the gym, Fang Muye guided Jiang Yiyi through simple movements to record them for the robotic arm. Jiang Yiyi became visibly excited watching her motions captured on screen, reminding Fang Muye of a delighted child. She began to dance exuberantly, only to get tangled in the equipment’s wires.
As Fang Muye leaned in to help her untangle, their close proximity was noticed by Miaomiao, who had just arrived looking for Fang Muye. Miaomiao, appearing displeased, quickly left, apologizing for interrupting them. Later, Meng Sizuo tried to cheer Miaomiao up by talking about robotic arms, which only seemed to make her more upset. Confused, Meng Sizuo asked fellow fitness coach Ma Yun why Miaomiao was angry.
Ma Yun retorted that Meng Sizuo simply didn’t understand women and suggested he was afraid to pursue Miaomiao because he feared losing their friendship if he failed. Back home, Jiang Yiyi and Fang Muye diligently researched the robotic arm. Jiang Yiyi grew suspicious that Fang Muye was merely a fitness coach given his technical insights.
She looked up his profile online, discovering he was a highly educated engineer who had graduated from MIT, majored in Life Sciences, and minored in Electronic Engineering. He had even founded a software company that was later acquired. Realizing his extensive background, Jiang Yiyi considered asking him to be her research partner to accelerate the success of her robotic arm project. That night, Fang Muye dreamt of Jiang Yiyi achieving her dreams and thanking him as her partner.
The dream then shifted, showing her falling into a bottomless abyss. He awoke abruptly to the sound of breaking glass. Rushing to her, he found Jiang Yiyi had cut her finger. He carefully bandaged the wound, reminding her not to get it wet to prevent infection. Watching him tend to her with such concern, Jiang Yiyi couldn't help but compare his attentiveness to Chu Tianqi’s past indifference, wondering if she had made the wrong choices in love.
While out shopping, Jiang Yiyi passed a Nike store and remembered Fang Muye’s stained shoes. She decided to buy him a new pair. Inside, she spotted a limited-edition Fujiwara and Air Jordan collaboration sneaker. As she pondered her purchase, another customer tried to claim the last pair. In a fit of pique, Jiang Yiyi quickly paid for the shoes, declaring loudly that they were for her roommate.
Later, at her company, Jiang Yiyi accidentally spilled a liquid reagent onto her bandaged finger. With no proper bandages available, she improvised by using a corn plaster given by a colleague. Returning home, Fang Muye found Jiang Yiyi passed out on the sofa with a fever, her wound inflamed. He immediately rushed her to the hospital. After her fever subsided, Jiang Yiyi woke up.
Fang Muye brought her chicken soup, but she jokingly complained that he hadn't brought flowers, explaining how their beauty and fragrance could cheer up a patient in a sterile hospital. While Fang Muye went to handle her discharge, Jiang Yiyi watched a news report on the hospital television. It featured former national badminton player Shi Liang signing a contract with Rococo Smartwatch, a company launching a high-tech watch designed to aid patients with nerve damage.
Jiang Yiyi recalled Shi Liang as her former neighbor and a kind, gentlemanly man whose life had been tragically altered by a car accident. She then saw Shi Liang’s daughter, Dandan, crying alone in the hallway. As Jiang Yiyi comforted Dandan, she overheard a heated argument from Shi Liang’s hospital room, where his wife, Shuyi, accused him of being a tool for money and revealed that Shi Liang resented the Rococo experiment.
Shi Liang was then forcibly restrained by a nurse for an injection, shouting his refusal for treatment. Shi Liang’s wife, Shuyi, emerged from the room, ignored Jiang Yiyi, and swiftly left with Dandan. Back at home, Jiang Yiyi researched Rococo online, discovering that its CEO, Peter Chen, was her childhood idol. She also learned that Shi Liang's car accident had caused severe nerve damage to his right arm, likely ending his career.
A new idea sparked in her mind: perhaps her robotic arm, which operated on mechanical controls rather than nerve signals, could offer hope to Shi Liang. She worked tirelessly on her research until she fell asleep at her desk, prompting Fang Muye to gently carry her to her room.
The next morning, Jiang Yiyi, still recovering from her fever, insisted Fang Muye accompany her on an outing, hinting that he would need to take care of her if she passed out. Meanwhile, at Mu-Xing Gym, a new client wanted to lose a significant amount of weight in three months. While other coaches found excuses to avoid taking her on, Ma Yun, with her characteristic enthusiasm, stepped forward to become her personal coach, warmly assuring the client of her potential.
Jiang Yiyi led Fang Muye to Shi Liang's old neighborhood. Standing there, she was swept by a wave of nostalgia, remembering her past life with Chu Tianqi in the same area. She commented on the neighborhood's distance from the city, noting the two-hour bus ride, which served as a subtle reminder of her old life. They soon found Dandan playing by herself, and joined her to fold paper cranes.
Dandan made a wish for her father to recover and for her mother to be home more, then thoughtfully made a wish for Jiang Yiyi, hoping "Tianqi can be with you more." This reignited Jiang Yiyi’s memories of Chu Tianqi, including an occasion where he had failed to introduce her to guests, making her feel unimportant. Fang Muye, observing her, pointed out that she had come here not for Shi Liang, but to revisit old memories.
Feeling understood but also exposed, Jiang Yiyi angrily retorted, accusing him of being upset about the drive and declared she would take the two-hour bus ride home alone. Fang Muye, with a sarcastic remark about her enjoying her memories, left her to it. Fang Muye returned to the gym, frustrated and agitated, and began furiously punching a bag held by Meng Sizuo.
He accidentally struck Meng Sizuo in the face, leading to a brief, humorous spat where Meng Sizuo accused him of trying to end their friendship. Fang Muye, feeling slightly better after his outburst, then received unsolicited relationship advice from Meng Sizuo, who recommended a book on love. Back home, Fang Muye grew worried about Jiang Yiyi's late return and sent her a flurry of text messages. However, Jiang Yiyi's phone had died, and her bus had broken down midway.
Stranded without cash or a working phone, she eventually found a street vendor and borrowed a charger. She called Fang Muye, explaining her predicament, her dead phone, lack of money, and a sprained ankle from her high heels, noting she was about five kilometers from home. Upon hearing this, Fang Muye instantly appeared beside her, using his power. He gently helped her onto his back, and they bickered playfully as he carried her home. As Jiang Yiyi finally drifted to sleep on his back, Fang Muye, having used his forbidden powers during the "forbidden month," suffered a nosebleed.
