Love is in the Air Episode 2 Recap
> Love is in the Air Recap
Fang Muye recalled a childhood fire where his grandmother was injured and fell into a coma while saving him. To awaken her, he agreed to an old man's request to undergo advanced Guardian training, which granted him superpowers. He prayed that his new guardian object would truly help him fulfill this mission. Having moved into Jiang Yiyi's apartment, Muye was greeted by Yiyi, who had stayed up all night drafting a 108-page cohabitation agreement.
She presented it to him with breakfast, insisting he adhere to its numerous rules, especially not touching her personal belongings or any tableware. After Yiyi left for work, Muye explored the apartment, discovering expired food in the refrigerator and lamenting the mess. He wondered if he could protect someone else instead. Meanwhile, Yiyi, at her office, used a hidden camera she claimed was for her dog Gulu, to monitor Muye.
She was both amused and impressed by him, finding him a talented, handsome, and refined gentleman. At her company, Yiyi was confronted by Vivian, who hinted that her position was due to her former boyfriend, Chu Tianqi, a company shareholder. Yiyi firmly stated she had broken up with Chu Tianqi long ago and earned her achievements through her own hard work. Vivian then revealed she had pitched Yiyi’s "super-powered sportswear" project to a sports company manager, who was very interested.
Vivian urged Yiyi to prove her capabilities. Eager to succeed, Yiyi went to Muxing Gym for market research. Muye and Meng Sizuo were struggling to find suitable coaches there. During her research, Yiyi spotted Muye, who was giving a fitness class, and later asked for his help getting down from a machine. Their longtime friend, Chen Miaomiao, arrived from Beijing, having resigned from a high-tech company to help Muye and Sizuo run the gym.
Over dinner, Sizuo teased Muye about his new female roommate, leading Miaomiao to mistakenly assume Muye finally had a girlfriend. Muye clarified that the roommate was not a girlfriend but "someone very important" he had spoken of in high school—a person he needed to find to achieve a significant life goal. Miaomiao also defended a restaurant employee from a rude customer, showing her righteous character.
Yiyi asked Muye to use his gym resources to test her "super-powered sportswear" on the market. She explained that career success brought her happiness. Muye agreed to help on one condition: Yiyi had to clean her messy apartment. He declared he was "allergic to untidiness" and couldn't help her find happiness if her home remained chaotic. While cleaning, Yiyi discovered a box filled with "love memories" from Chu Tianqi, which she couldn't bring herself to discard.
Later, during a video call with her friend Zhizhi, Yiyi mentioned the box. Zhizhi urged her to let go of the past and playfully suggested Muye was a "gift from the Heavens." Yiyi reminisced about her college romance with Chu Tianqi and the engagement ring he had given her. Feeling a mix of bitterness that he never proposed marriage, she impulsively tossed the ring into the trash. Soon after, Gulu fell ill with gastroenteritis.
Muye, despite being severely allergic to dogs, bravely carried Gulu to the veterinary hospital because the elevator was under repair. At the hospital, the vet found that Gulu had swallowed several items, including Yiyi's engagement ring, which was retrieved after surgery. Muye suffered a severe allergic reaction, with his neck turning red and nose bleeding, but insisted he was fine. Yiyi thanked him for saving Gulu. The recovered ring brought back more memories for Yiyi.
She recalled moving to Shanghai with Chu Tianqi five years prior for his career. Two years later, they broke up when he had to move to America, a separation she couldn't endure after years of his frequent relocations for promotions. At the airport, she had wanted to return the ring but couldn't remove it. Now, trying it on again, she found her finger had swollen, and the ring was stuck.
That night, Yiyi dreamt that Gulu dragged her, disheveled, to an embarrassing reunion with Chu Tianqi. She awoke startled. Muye had prepared breakfast for them, and Yiyi questioned him about bumping into an ex. Muye, who had never been in a relationship, stated that if one has truly moved on, an ex's opinion shouldn't matter. Yiyi scoffed, saying he couldn't understand the pain of heartbreak, playfully calling him a "monk."
Muye then unexpectedly leaned in close, as if to kiss her, causing Yiyi to quickly retreat to the kitchen. Later, at the Muxing Gym, Miaomiao showed old photos of herself, Muye, and Sizhuo to an employee, Xiaoxi, reminiscing about their decade-long friendship. She recalled a time during their school days when they were playing in the street and a car almost hit them. Sizhuo had shielded Miaomiao, but the car mysteriously vanished.
Meng Sizhuo then appeared, interrupting her thoughts by showing off his muscles, and playfully teased her about having had a crush on him, which Miaomiao denied. Back at work, Vivian assigned Yiyi a critical project involving a difficult long-term client, instructing her to use "every measure necessary" to secure it and warning her not to fail. A colleague suggested that Vivian herself had used her "best assets" in her youth to win clients, making Yiyi wonder how she could compete.
At home, Yiyi fretted over the project. Muye asked if the clients' happiness would make her happy, and she confirmed. Determined to help, Muye secretly ordered various cosmetics, clothes, and shoes, having them delivered anonymously to Yiyi. Puzzled but accepting the gifts, Yiyi dressed elegantly for her presentation.
During the meeting, as she took off her high heels to demonstrate the fitness equipment, she lost her balance and stumbled directly into the arms of Chu Tianqi, who had just entered the room. Her awkward dream had indeed come true.
