Love is in the Air Episode 18 Recap
> Love is in the Air Recap
After witnessing Fang Muye’s wings and recalling countless moments he had appeared by her side, Yiyi finally understood that he had been sacrificing his own happiness for hers. Overcome with emotion, tears streamed down her face. Later, to vent her feelings, Yiyi spent an entire afternoon vigorously exercising at the gym. Afterwards, she invited Sizhuo and Miaomiao to dinner. At the restaurant, Yiyi probed them about Muye’s childhood, asking if they had ever noticed anything strange or different about him.
Miaomiao recalled that when Muye was a child, he often spoke of waiting for someone, though she didn’t know who that person was. The next morning, Yiyi prepared breakfast for Fang Muye and a special tonic for his grandma. Fang Muye noticed her unusual kindness and asked why she was being so good to him. Yiyi explained that he had always taken care of her, and it was her turn as his roommate to do something for him.
She encouraged him to share if anything was on his mind. As they ate, news on TV reported that Chu Tianqi, CEO of Ruixing, was taking temporary leave. Concerned, Yiyi rushed to Chu Tianqi’s home. She found his place in disarray and expressed her worry, especially about his suspension. She offered him her entire savings of 200,000 yuan, collected from her own money and some friends, and even suggested asking Mr. Chen for an early payout of her benefits.
Chu Tianqi appreciated her kindness, admitting that his career, which he thought was his life’s meaning, had crumbled, but he was grateful to still have her. However, when he made an affectionate gesture, Yiyi subtly avoided it. She told him that she now considered him a very important friend and hoped he would be alright. She explained that someone else had been gradually changing her, and she needed time to think carefully about her feelings.
As Yiyi left, Chu Tianqi wondered if she was referring to Fang Muye. Fang Muye's grandma’s condition suddenly worsened, and she was rushed into surgery. Yiyi hurried to the hospital to comfort a distraught Muye, reassuring him that his grandma would get well. Doctors informed Muye that his grandma was out of danger but would require more thorough examinations to determine the cause of her sudden decline, as her brain functions appeared normal.
Despite the good news, Muye began to question if his proximity to Yiyi was impeding her happiness and, consequently, delaying his grandma’s recovery. He spoke to his unconscious grandma, asking if her illness was a result of him getting too close to Yiyi. He urged her to wake up and tell him. He reflected on his role as a Guardian, feeling useless compared to the dedicated nurses, and questioned his own identity.
Ultimately, he decided that for Yiyi’s happiness and his grandma’s recovery, he had to let Yiyi go, despite how much it pained him. Muye dreamt of Yiyi, holding her hand tightly. He woke to find himself holding Sizhuo’s hand instead. Sizhuo explained that Miaomiao had swapped their shifts so Muye could rest, assuring him he would care for Grandma. Sizhuo mentioned that Yiyi had just left, prompting Muye to rush out in pursuit.
He found Yiyi at a coffee shop, where she had been overhearing reporters discussing the mysterious disappearance of Shi Liang and Rococo's alleged mistreatment of him. Yiyi told Muye she had woken up an hour early to visit him and Grandma at the hospital before work. Muye, stifling his own desire to be with her, urged her to focus on Chu Tianqi and stop worrying about him and Grandma.
He insisted he could care for Grandma alone and that her visits wouldn't help. Yiyi, stressed and hurt by his words, apologized and said she wouldn't come if he was tired of her, then left for work. Muye, heartbroken, silently confessed that he wanted to see her every day and be with her forever, but questioned if he could be so selfish given his grandma’s condition. Yiyi later went to Rococo, encountering the same reporters she’d overheard earlier.
Peter Chen pressed her to start working on the robotic arm, explaining that research staff and materials were all in place, waiting for her. Yiyi hesitated, admitting her concern for Mr. Shi Liang, whose robotic arm she designed to help him return to his field. She asked if Shi Liang would be involved in their experiments. Peter Chen claimed Shi Liang had disappeared after an experiment, escaping the ward and destroying expensive medical equipment.
To protect Shi Liang's reputation, the company had suppressed the news, stating the experiment was confidential. Peter Chen then asked Yiyi to inform him if she found anything about Shi Liang, her former neighbor. Yiyi, still doubtful, visited Shi Liang’s house, only to learn from a neighbor that both Shi Liang and his wife had disappeared long ago, and his sister had hired an agent to sell the house, with the child gone with the sister.
Yiyi was confused, wondering what was truly happening. Meanwhile, Fang Muye was teaching a fitness class but felt extremely weak and dizzy. Intending to go to the hospital, he inexplicably teleported to Grandfather Hu's house instead. Grandfather Hu noted Muye’s inner energy was unstable. Muye described feeling constantly tired, as if his energy was continuously leaking, even without using his powers.
Grandfather Hu admitted he had never encountered such a situation and mentioned that all his Guardian self-rescue manuals had disappeared overnight. He advised Muye that developing his potential was a long process and promised to find a way to replenish his energy. Separately, Chu Tianqi discovered an envelope in his car containing a suppressed news release from Rococo, revealing they had tested drugs on Shi Liang, who was now in extreme danger.
Recognizing this as an opportunity, Chu Tianqi met with company executives. He confidently declared his ability to dominate the Malaysian market and requested the reinstatement of his position. He assured them he would act decisively to maximize profits and leave nothing for competitors, though for now, he would bide his time. Yiyi ultimately decided to accept the position at Rococo. Fang Muye drove her there, where he unexpectedly saw Peng Tao leaving the building, looking unwell.
Muye secretly followed Peng Tao, who met with Chu Tianqi. It turned out Chu Tianqi, now aware of Rococo's drug trials, had made a deal with Peng Tao to steal medicine from Rococo’s lab, promising him compensation. Muye observed Peng Tao re-entering Rococo and used his teleportation ability to follow him into Peter Chen’s research lab. There, Muye found an antique pocket watch on Peter Chen's desk. Feeling it was significant, he took it to Grandfather Hu.
Grandfather Hu recognized it as a Guardian's token and surmised that its owner had been imprisoned for a long time. He promised to try and repair it. Back at Rococo, Peter Chen was furious about the missing watch, questioning how it could have disappeared from his lab despite the world’s most advanced security systems.
A researcher reported that although alarms were silent, their supernatural power tracking computer detected an abnormal brainwave surge the previous night, indicating supernatural interference, and suggested the watch disappeared during that period. Peter Chen understood, then opened a cabinet and retrieved a mask, seemingly preparing to confront Muye. Later, Muye asked Yiyi if Chu Tianqi and Peter Chen’s companies had any collaborations involving medicine. Yiyi explained their cooperation focused on patents and technologies for sportswear and outdoor equipment, not medicine.
Holding a medicine bottle he had obtained from Peng Tao, Muye was left confused, trying to connect Peng Tao’s apparent symptoms with a drug trial, Chu Tianqi’s transaction with Peng Tao, and what Chu Tianqi intended to gain from Peter Chen, especially if Rococo was not supposedly developing medicine. He couldn’t piece together the intricate web of connections.
