In an underground parking garage, Peng Tao cornered Vivian, pleading for her help as he claimed to be at his wit's end. Vivian found his behavior strange and tried to break free, insisting their relationship was over. As they struggled, Chu Tianqi, who was also parking, intervened. Peng Tao reluctantly let go of Vivian, lamenting his current state.
He confessed that Rococo had used him as a guinea pig, subjecting him to painful experiments that had turned him into a "monster." The following morning, Fang Muye was sore all over from a fight he had the previous night. Jiang Yiyi noticed his discomfort during breakfast, asking where he had been and why he was back so late.
Muye lied, saying he went for a late-night run and simply went to bed after getting tired, even fabricating a story about a leaf given by someone named Xi. Yiyi, noticing his dirty clothes and sore foot, urged him to take a shower first. Later, at the gym, Miaomiao expressed concern over Muye's serious injuries.
Muye seized the opportunity to ask Miaomiao for Peng Tao's address or family information, but she knew nothing, only suggesting his address might be on the entry form. Meanwhile, Meng Sizuo, seeing Miaomiao and Muye talking, became visibly jealous and shooed Miaomiao away. Miaomiao then asked Muye if he thought Sizuo had been acting weird, but Sizuo appeared before Muye could answer, further displaying his possessiveness over Miaomiao.
Jiang Yiyi, recalling Muye's timely appearances whenever she was in danger, decided to test her hypothesis. She deliberately stood in the middle of a busy street, hoping to get into an accident, but she failed to account for the traffic lights. Her second attempt involved climbing to the company rooftop, intending to see if Muye would save her, but Vivian caught her there, putting an end to that plan. Unbeknownst to Yiyi, Fang Muye was aware of her attempts.
At Lazy Fun Creative Company, Yiyi's demonstration of a robotic arm to Chen Peter and Chu Tianqi ended in failure, leaving Chen Peter disappointed. After the meeting, Yiyi apologized to Chen Peter, who then offered to reconsider sponsorship if Yiyi and Fang Muye agreed to develop the robotic arm in Rococo's lab and share all data with Rococo. He emphasized that Muye would be needed. Yiyi said she would consider the offer.
Fang Muye visited Grandpa Hu, a Guardian, and joined him in meditation. Muye expressed concern about recent physical anomalies and strange dreams, describing a peculiar space he couldn't escape. Grandpa Hu, seemingly unfazed, advised him not to worry and to focus on his training. Still uneasy, Muye decided to leave his alarm clock with Grandpa Hu for safekeeping, worrying that his "clock" might be malfunctioning. Later, Meng Sizuo insisted on driving Miaomiao to a classmate reunion.
Noticing her dressed up, he asked about the occasion. At the bar, a former high school classmate named Xiao Xiong, who used to pursue Miaomiao, invited her to dance. Sizuo immediately stepped in, rejected the invitation on her behalf, and warned the man to stay away from Miaomiao. He then exposed Xiao Xiong's past philandering by putting up flyers detailing his "love affairs," embarrassing him.
Later, Sizuo told Miaomiao not to hang out with Xiao Xiong anymore, and in a private conversation with another male friend, stated that if he couldn't be with Miaomiao, neither could anyone else, highlighting his intense possessiveness. This interaction highlighted a subtle shift in the dynamic between Miaomiao and Sizuo. Chu Tianqi accompanied Jiang Yiyi to meet Chen Peter, finalizing the collaboration with Rococo.
Chen Peter also informed Tianqi that Rococo would not be proceeding with their proposed joint venture in Malaysia, as Rococo had decided to invest independently in that market. Yiyi, concerned about Shi Liang's family, inquired about his situation. Chen Peter admitted to hearing about his wife's debt and promised to help Shi Liang financially on a personal basis, which Yiyi greatly appreciated. After Chen Peter left, Tianqi suggested they visit a nearby book fair.
However, Yiyi received an urgent call from Miaomiao, who reported that Muye's grandmother seemed to be showing signs of waking up. Yiyi immediately canceled her plans with Tianqi and rushed to Muye's old residence. At Muye's home, Yiyi found that the grandmother's caregiver was neglectful, often exaggerating the grandmother's condition to demand a higher salary.
Muye, having lost faith in the caregiver, fired her and decided to personally look after his grandmother after taking her to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor confirmed the grandmother's condition was stable but noted bedsores, indicating the caregiver had not followed instructions for regular cleaning and massages. Muye felt guilty for his carelessness. Yiyi stayed by Muye's side, helping to care for his grandmother and offering comfort, deeply moving Muye.
Yiyi talked to the unconscious grandmother, sharing stories about Muye and urging her to wake up, bringing in a philodendron, also known as tortoise bamboo, as a symbol of hope for a long life. Yiyi reassured Muye, telling him she believed in miracles because of him. Muye asked Yiyi to go home as it was late, but she insisted on staying to help with potential paperwork. Meanwhile, Angel confronted Chu Tianqi, urging him to return to the U. S.
with her to manage her father's company, believing it would also benefit his career and that she was the right partner for him. Tianqi politely but firmly refused, stating he preferred to achieve his goals, including love, on his own terms. He reiterated that his heart belonged only to Yiyi. Agitated by his rejection, Angel, who had a heart condition, fainted in his arms.
Tianqi rushed her to the hospital and called her father, who arranged for immediate surgery in the U. S. Angel tearfully pleaded with Tianqi to accompany her, but he gently declined, advising her to face reality and move on. Angel swore that Tianqi would pay for his refusal. The next day, news broke that Tianqi's company, Ruixing Group, had suffered a massive blow. Major investors had withdrawn their funds, leading to project suspensions and a loss of millions.
Chu Tianqi was suspended and reported missing. Yiyi, seeing the news, desperately tried to contact him. She received a text message from Tianqi telling her not to worry, that he was okay, and not to look for him. Back home, Muye was overwhelmed by intense body pain and disorientation. The chip implanted by Rococo had activated, continuously monitoring his data.
Rococo's researchers, in communication with Chen Peter, reported that data extraction was now normal and were instructed to retrieve any lost data from the past week. Yiyi, upon returning, found Muye burning with fever. As she tried to call for help, he gripped her hand, pleading with her not to leave and to stay with him forever. In that moment, a pair of nascent wings unfurled from his back, leaving Yiyi stunned.
