Jiang Yiyi left a note for Chu Tianqi, explaining that she needed time alone to find her own answers. She expressed how, in the two years they had been apart, she had learned to eat, watch movies, and travel alone, discovering different joys in life. She wanted to explore more possibilities and walk her own path, rather than just being the girl who always relied on him.
She didn't want to upset his plans or be a burden, desiring to find what she truly wanted. That morning, while Chu Tianqi was looking for her, Jiang Yiyi had already set off to climb Southeast Mountain alone. Meanwhile, Fang Muye was training on the mountain, feeling his powers grow stronger. He wondered if this was because Jiang Yiyi was happier with Chu Tianqi, assuming they were back together. After an exhausting climb, Jiang Yiyi finally reached the summit.
She cried out, asking where her answer to happiness was. Looking at the beautiful view of the ocean and sky, she realized that happiness meant following her heart, regardless of her age. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her chest and struggled to breathe, nearly fainting. Fang Muye appeared just in time to catch her. Dazed, Jiang Yiyi thought she was dreaming and asked him to stay with her a little longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Fang Muye carried the unconscious Jiang Yiyi back to her hotel room and cared for her, but quickly teleported away when he heard Chu Tianqi approaching. Jiang Yiyi woke to find Chu Tianqi by her side. He told her she had passed out on the mountain and he had bought some medicine for her. He offered her porridge and apologized for their argument the previous night, saying he shouldn't have yelled.
Fang Muye, watching from outside the door, felt a pang of sadness. Jiang Yiyi, however, simply told Chu Tianqi that she wanted to go home. Upon returning home, Jiang Yiyi immediately looked for Fang Muye. When he opened the door, coming back from buying groceries, she rushed to him and hugged him tightly. At that moment, Fang Muye's real wings spread, but he quickly used his powers to make them vanish before Jiang Yiyi could see them.
He asked why she was back so soon and how her trip to Dali was. Jiang Yiyi, though her trip hadn't been enjoyable, lied and said she had a great time. Later, in her room, she received a text from Chu Tianqi asking about her moving arrangements, to which she replied that she needed more time to reconsider. The next morning, Fang Muye was preparing breakfast.
He asked Jiang Yiyi if she and Chu Tianqi were back together, assuming they were since they were living together. He urged her to make a decision quickly, as her indecision was affecting him, mentioning that he kept answering her phone and couldn't finish his work. Jiang Yiyi retorted that he didn't have to answer if he didn't want to.
Just then, Meng Sizuo arrived, returning Gulu, the dog he and the gym staff had been caring for while Jiang Yiyi was away. He also brought a package for Jiang Yiyi. Inside, she found an invitation to the Annual Inventors' Costume Party. Meng Sizuo was excited, noting that Jiang Yiyi's third-generation sweeping robot was a finalist and that a co-partner was required to receive an award.
Jiang Yiyi revealed she had already listed Fang Muye as her co-partner because he had an engineering background and met the requirements. She even confessed to using his number to register for various discounts, and insisted he accompany her to the event. Fang Muye's ordered wing model arrived, and Jiang Yiyi found it interesting, remarking that she wished she had an angel guardian to grant her wishes.
Fang Muye, smiling knowingly, offered to be her angel and grant her three wishes as a belated birthday gift. Initially hesitant and jokingly calling him a "door god," Jiang Yiyi eventually revealed her desires: a pair of satin high heels that had been discontinued two years ago, a rare Lego merry-go-round model, and to become a "full-figured bombshell" with a C-cup.
Fang Muye was slightly embarrassed by the last wish, but thinking she would soon move out, he decided to consider them parting gifts. The following morning, Jiang Yiyi awoke to find the high heels and Lego model beside her bed. She excitedly hugged Fang Muye, exclaiming that he truly was her angel.
Fang Muye, confirming her belief, then presented her with a bottle of papaya oil, explaining he could help with other things, but not her third wish, much to her annoyance. Later, Fang Muye, wearing the fake angel wings he had made, joined Jiang Yiyi and Meng Sizuo at the Annual Inventors' Costume Party. As they entered, guests had to get a stamp on their arms. While receiving his stamp, Fang Muye felt a sudden dizziness.
Unbeknownst to them, in Rococo's lab, Peter Chen's research team observed critical data fluctuations on their screens, realizing the implanted tracking chip was active. The chip, disguised as an entry stamp, was designed to track Fang Muye and collect his genetic data and energy. Inside the party, Meng Sizuo enthusiastically socialized, taking photos with various guests and boasting to Fang Muye. Fang Muye then asked Meng Sizuo when he developed feelings for Miaomiao.
Meng Sizuo then recalled a high school memory: Miaomiao was tutoring him in English, patiently helping him with pronunciation despite his frequent distractions. When he scored an unusually high 85 on a test, their teacher accused him of cheating. Miaomiao, without hesitation, vouched for Meng Sizuo, presenting their practice tests as proof of his improvement and boldly confronted the teacher about making accusations without evidence. For her defiance, both were punished, holding signs as a public reprimand.
From that day on, Meng Sizuo saw Miaomiao as his "Goddess of Justice," his Athena. He confided in Fang Muye that while everyone saw her as a strict model student, he always knew she would become a captivating woman, but lamented that she only saw him as a friend, a friendship he feared losing. Fang Muye advised him to formulate a plan and act on it.
Meanwhile, Jiang Yiyi was enjoying the buffet when she overheard two women disparaging her sweeping robot invention, calling her earlier model "rubbish" and questioning her recognition as an "Outstanding Young Inventor." Fang Muye told her to ignore them. While Jiang Yiyi stepped away to the restroom, Fang Muye subtly used his powers to get a small revenge on the two critical women. After the awards ceremony, where Jiang Yiyi was recognized as an "Outstanding Young Inventor," the party officially began.
Jiang Yiyi invited Fang Muye to dance, genuinely thanking him. She explained that she had put his name on the invitation because his help had been instrumental in her inventions' significant progress. As Fang Muye experienced this moment of happiness, his real wings inadvertently emerged, but his costume's fake wings concealed them from everyone.
Back at Rococo's lab, the research team reported to Peter Chen that Fang Muye's energy levels fluctuated significantly whenever he used his powers, and with the chip now active, they were ready to extract his energy. Peter Chen approved, and his team confirmed they would monitor him closely and collect the energy once ordered. As the party concluded, Meng Sizuo and Fang Muye encountered Peng Tao outside.
Meng Sizuo, unable to control his temper, confronted Peng Tao and was quickly overpowered. Fang Muye told Jiang Yiyi to go home safely and rushed to Meng Sizuo's aid. However, when Peng Tao choked Fang Muye, and Fang Muye attempted to use his powers, the energy unexpectedly dissipated, and he collapsed onto the ground. In the lab, Peter Chen's team reported that the energy extraction program was abruptly terminated.
They discovered that some internal mechanism within Fang Muye's body was resisting their efforts, and it would take about a week to repair their program. Frustrated by this unexpected setback, Peter Chen concluded that they would need to make better use of Jiang Yiyi as bait in their future plans.
