While Fang Muye prepared for his Guardian initiation training, he found himself distracted and unable to focus, receiving unsolicited messages and wondering if Jiang Yiyi had safely arrived in Yunnan. Meanwhile, Jiang Yiyi, pondering why Fang Muye had suddenly crossed her mind on her way home, was busy preparing for her trip to Yunnan the next day.
Chu Tianqi had already booked a five-star hotel for their trip to Cang Mountain and Erhai Lake, but Yiyi insisted on staying in a hostel or tent, and Chu Tianqi eventually compromised by canceling the hotel reservation. Uncertain about what to bring for the trip, she called Fang Muye for advice. He provided detailed suggestions, including packing a jacket, hiking boots, and various medications for motion sickness, mosquito repellent, altitude sickness, and allergies.
Jiang Yiyi quickly located the allergy medicine in his room's second drawer before abruptly hanging up, much to Fang Muye's annoyance. Jiang Yiyi and Chu Tianqi successfully arrived in Yunnan but got lost while trying to find their hostel. Chu Tianqi, already concerned about an urgent teleconference with his assistant Sally, expressed his frustration over the delay, noting a road block would add another hour.
He reassured Jiang Yiyi that she was a very important person to him, then pointed out that phones could also be used for taking pictures. Upon finally reaching the "Mumen Hostel," Chu Tianqi was immediately put off by the small room and a lingering smell, which the owner attributed to humidity. The room also lacked a tapestry Jiang Yiyi had seen in online pictures, as it had been purchased by a previous guest.
Jiang Yiyi tried to lighten the mood by offering Chu Tianqi local plum wine and candied fruits, which he disliked. As Chu Tianqi began his urgent teleconference, discussing a market analysis and a potential business leak with Sally, the hostel experienced a sudden power cut. He was forced to continue the call in the courtyard by candlelight.
During his call, Jiang Yiyi, easily distracted by a talking bird, wandered around, seemingly looking for a better signal for Chu Tianqi's call, then called Fang Muye. She chatted excitedly with him about the bird and her trip. Chu Tianqi overheard her mention Fang Muye's name and, visibly annoyed, called out to Jiang Yiyi, who promptly ended her call. He then noticed her arm was red and itchy, likely an allergic reaction.
She mentioned Fang Muye had advised her to bring allergy medicine. Chu Tianqi expressed his irritation, questioning why Fang Muye seemed to have so much free time to talk to her daily. Jiang Yiyi defended Fang Muye, explaining that he was busy but always available when she needed him. The hostel owner then informed them that there would be no hot water after 7 PM.
Jiang Yiyi apologized for the inconvenience, but Chu Tianqi, without acknowledging her apology, immediately called his secretary to book another hotel. He then told Jiang Yiyi they needed to pack and leave at once, stating that the poor living conditions and lack of signal were impacting his business schedule. Meanwhile, Meng Sizhuo’s pursuer, Sisi, repeatedly appeared at the gym demanding money. Miao Miao, having witnessed this several times, confronted Meng Sizhuo, suspecting Sisi was blackmailing him.
Meng Sizhuo admitted he had been drunk one night and didn't remember much, and that he wouldn't have gone home with Sisi if he'd known she was a minor. Miao Miao, however, was skeptical of Sisi’s claim to be underage. After doing some research, Miao Miao discovered Sisi’s real name was Wu Bing and she was 22, not a minor, as evidenced by school records and pictures from primary, middle, and high school, with teachers and classmates able to testify.
When Meng Sizhuo tried to give Sisi 10,000 yuan to make her leave him alone, Miao Miao intervened, exposing Sisi's history of scamming wealthy men by changing names. Sisi, humiliated, fled. Meng Sizhuo was greatly impressed by Miao Miao's resourcefulness, proclaiming her his "goddess of justice" and vowing to follow her for life.
Upon moving to the luxurious five-star hotel, Jiang Yiyi apologized for the hostel issues, but Chu Tianqi blamed her for deviating from his original plans, arguing that adhering to them would have prevented all problems and saved wasted time. Jiang Yiyi countered that he hadn't consulted her before changing hotels. Their discussion was interrupted when Chu Tianqi's business partner recognized him. Chu Tianqi introduced Jiang Yiyi simply as "my friend," which visibly saddened her.
As Chu Tianqi engrossed himself in a detailed discussion about expanding his business to Southeast Asia, Jiang Yiyi, feeling neglected, decided to go for a walk alone. She visited a large tree in "Love Village," where she drew a fortune stick. The prophecy read: "If you want to know the answer, go southeast." Perplexed, she wondered if her happiness truly lay in the southeast, given that Chu Tianqi was waiting for her in the hotel, which was in the west.
Her contemplation was cut short by a call from Chu Tianqi, and she agreed to return. Later, at a local restaurant, Chu Tianqi and Jiang Yiyi were presented with unique local dishes featuring insects and raw pork rind. Chu Tianqi, clearly unenthused by the "weird bugs," tried to avoid eating them. Jiang Yiyi insisted he try a dish called "A Hero Saves the Damsel," explaining it was meant for the man to taste first to show bravery.
Chu Tianqi seized an incoming work call as an excuse to momentarily escape the table. While he was away, Jiang Yiyi took photos of the dishes and sent them to Fang Muye, who immediately identified them. She even video-chatted with him, joking that she would pretend the protein-rich bugs were chicken. When Chu Tianqi returned and saw her still on her phone with Fang Muye, he snatched the phone away, expressing his annoyance.
He then declared he couldn't eat such strange food and suggested they go to another restaurant. While shopping, Jiang Yiyi spotted a dream catcher that Fang Muye had been looking for. She immediately took pictures and called him to ask about his preferred color, completely oblivious when Chu Tianqi tried to tell her he was going to buy drinks. After purchasing the dream catcher, she realized Chu Tianqi was gone.
Unable to reach him by phone, she sent him a voice message saying she would wait for him at the hotel. Back at the hotel, Jiang Yiyi was chatting with Fang Muye when he called her back. He asked if she had been looking for him and how her day was. She excitedly told him about her enjoyable day in Dali and her plan to hike Southeast Mountain tomorrow morning, citing the fortune stick's prediction.
She quickly ended the call when Chu Tianqi returned. He complained about her being late and his inability to reach her, explaining he had been worried and searching for her all over Huanhai West Road. Jiang Yiyi realized her voice message informing him she was returning to the hotel had failed to send and apologized. Chu Tianqi, eager to move past the incident, told her to get some rest so they could climb Cang Mountain as planned the next day.
However, Jiang Yiyi declared she no longer wanted to climb Cang Mountain and wished to go to Southeast Mountain instead. Chu Tianqi grew agitated, reminding her that climbing Cang Mountain was a promise from their university days and that he had put aside work to be with her, only for her to constantly disrupt his plans and break rules. He voiced his dislike for surprises and chaos, feeling she was making everything spiral out of control.
Jiang Yiyi, in turn, expressed her frustration, feeling he was always preoccupied with work and that she was the only one truly enjoying their trip. She wanted someone who would simply be present with her every day, not someone constantly pursuing a "brighter future." Chu Tianqi retorted, accusing her of wanting someone "all muscles and no brain."
Their argument escalated, with Jiang Yiyi telling him to "just go," echoing his actions from two years prior, and they parted ways in anger. The next morning, Jiang Yiyi went alone to climb Southeast Mountain. Midway up, she began to experience breathing difficulties and was about to collapse when Fang Muye suddenly appeared, catching her just in time.
