Love is Deep Episode 37 Recap
> Love is Deep Recap
Dingding explained to Xiao Feng why she had refused Ning Weijin's marriage proposal, stating she couldn't be a burden to him for a lifetime. Xiao Feng accused her of being overly dramatic and suspicious, pointing out that she hadn't even undergone re-examination, let alone received a diagnosis, yet she was already worrying about contracting cancer and burdening Ning Weijin.
Dingding countered that the doctor at the examination center had mentioned she possessed breast cancer genes and had previously been diagnosed with a fibroma, suggesting a high chance of recurrence. Xiao Feng then realized she had rejected Ning Weijin's proposal based on these fears. Ning Weixuan mentioned that Dingding had recently gone for a medical check-up, prompting Ning Weijin to suddenly remember that he had promised to examine Dingding himself but had forgotten due to the engagement preparations.
He then deduced that Dingding likely believed she had a serious illness, perhaps hyperplasia or cancer, and that was why she had rejected his proposal. Ning Weijin agreed that this explained Dingding's behavior, attributing it to a patient's reluctance to admit illness. He decided to confront her immediately to resolve the misunderstanding. Ning Weijin presented Dingding with a "Feasibility Analysis of Marriage," a detailed report outlining potential issues in their marriage over the next decade, along with solutions.
He hoped this would ease her mind, but Dingding, feeling overwhelmed, declined to review it, stating her mind was too muddled and she needed quiet time to think. Ning Weijin felt Dingding didn't trust him, fearing he would abandon her if she fell ill. However, Gao Ren suggested that Dingding's self-sacrificing act stemmed from her deep love for Ning Weijin and her absolute trust that he would never leave her.
Gao Ren reasoned that if her illness was cured, all would be well, but if it wasn't, it would inflict a second, lifelong pain of guilt and suffering on Ning Weijin, as doctors aren't omnipotent. Dingding, he believed, wanted to spare Ning Weijin that agony. Gao Ren also mentioned that Ning Weixuan had been feeling unwell and suggested Ning Weijin take her for a check-up too.
Gao Ren noticed Ning Weixuan had been feeling uncomfortable lately and asked if she had gone for a check-up, to which she admitted she hadn't. Drawing on his past experience in the breast department, Gao Ren questioned her about other symptoms besides pain. He insisted that he would take her for a check-up.
Accompanying her to the hospital, Gao Ren tried to help her relax, even offering to let Ning Weixuan bite his arm, an offer she took, biting him hard. Despite the pain, Gao Ren reassured her, saying he'd offer his other arm if it helped her anxiety. Ning Weixuan was touched. Later, Ning Weijin conducted Dingding’s re-examination. When the results came back, Ning Weijin playfully declared Dingding to be in the late stages of "suspicion disease" with no cure.
Dingding initially panicked, believing her imagined breast cancer had metastasized to her heart, collapsing onto a chair in fright. She soon realized he was joking; she only had slight breast hyperplasia and was otherwise healthy. Relieved, Dingding hugged Ning Weijin, who then confirmed that her earlier rejection of his proposal was due to her fear of having cancer. He expressed his hope that they would face any future problems together, as that is the essence of a loving relationship.
Just as Dingding celebrated her clean bill of health, Ding Yang delivered Ning Weixuan’s examination report to Ning Weijin. The report indicated breast cancer, with the tumor's unfavorable shape suggesting a high probability of malignancy. Overwhelmed, Ning Weijin questioned why this disease had to afflict his family, first his mother and now his sister. Ning Weixuan, having overheard their conversation, confronted them. Though devastated, she remained resolute, expressing faith that Ning Weijin, as the best breast surgeon, would cure her.
She tearfully embraced them, but firmly asked Ning Weijin not to tell Gao Ren, fearing his timid nature would lead to an overwhelming and annoying reaction. Later, Ning Weixuan sat alone in a bar, drinking juice, when Dr. Xiang approached. She eventually confessed her cancer diagnosis to him. Dr. Xiang reaffirmed his affection for her, regardless of her health. Ning Weixuan, however, confessed she did not reciprocate his feelings.
She revealed that she knew Gao Ren liked her, and that was enough. She didn't want Gao Ren to know about her illness because she anticipated he would selflessly care for her, making her feel as though she was accepting him out of need, not love. She stated that any relationship with him would only happen after she recovered, and if he remained persistent before then, she would find a way to make him give up.
Gao Ren found Ning Weixuan outside the bar, having tried to reach her by phone. He confronted her, suspecting she had been drinking with Dr. Xiang again. Ning Weixuan angrily lashed out, telling him to stop meddling in her personal life. She accused him of being absent when she needed him before, and now, when she detested him, he was inexplicably persistent. She vehemently demanded he move out of her house immediately, wishing never to see him again.
A dejected Gao Ren left. Gao Ren later went to Dingding, seeking advice about Ning Weixuan. Dingding urged him to confess his true feelings for Ning Weixuan soon, or it might be too late. Gao Ren misinterpreted her words, fearing that Ning Weixuan and Dr. Xiang were becoming a couple, especially after her strange behavior at the bar. He angrily decided to confront Dr. Xiang at the hospital, informing Dingding by phone to meet him there.
Gao Ren stormed into the hospital, ready to argue with Dr. Xiang. Dr. Xiang calmly admitted he had confessed his feelings to Ning Weixuan but was rejected. Gao Ren gloated, convinced that Dr. Xiang's usual tactics wouldn't work on Ning Weixuan.
Dr. Xiang, however, challenged Gao Ren, pointing out that at least he had the courage to express his feelings, unlike Gao Ren, who was merely a "clown" making noise, too afraid to admit his love and prevent other men from approaching Ning Weixuan. Dr. Xiang then asked Gao Ren how he would react if Ning Weixuan had terminal cancer.
Shocked and disbelieving, Gao Ren initially dismissed it as a cruel curse, but Dr. Xiang confirmed Ning Weixuan's breast cancer diagnosis, explaining that she hadn't wanted him to know, but he felt it necessary to tell him. Gao Ren stood stunned, refusing to believe the news. Meanwhile, Ning Weijin took a leave of absence to care for Ning Weixuan, preparing a lavish breakfast for her. Ning Weixuan insisted she didn’t need special treatment or to be viewed as a patient.
Ning Weijin clarified he was simply caring for his sister, not a patient. Ning Weixuan was visibly moved and shed tears while eating. She felt that being sick surprisingly had its perks, as Ning Weijin seemed to indulge her more. She planned a party with Dingding to lighten the mood. Later that day, Ning Weixuan's father and Yin Fei arrived for a visit, causing Ning Weixuan to retreat into her room. Her father had lovingly prepared chicken soup for her.
Though she didn't speak to him, she accepted the soup, allowing him to feed her. As she ate, Ning Weixuan recalled her childhood, when her father would often make her chicken soup, a comfort she hadn't experienced in years. Overcome with emotion, she embraced her father, crying. He reassured her that she had him and her brother, and everything would be fine. As Ning Weixuan escorted her father to the door, her father gave her instructions on pre-surgery care.
Just then, Gao Ren rushed up, embraced Ning Weixuan, and confessed his love for her. Ning Weixuan's father, still in his car, witnessed the scene and immediately got out, flustered. Ning Weixuan, blushing, ran back into her room. Noticing her father, Gao Ren quickly clarified that he was serious about Ning Weixuan. Pleading at her door, Gao Ren poured out his heart, expressing deep regret for realizing his feelings so late.
He vowed to stand by her, no matter how much the surgery changed her appearance, even offering to shave his head in solidarity if she lost her hair. Moved by his sincere declaration, Ning Weixuan opened the door. She bit his arm hard, warning him that if he ever broke his promise, she would tear a piece of flesh from him. Gao Ren solemnly swore his unwavering loyalty, promising to give her the most perfect post-operative repair.
Ning Weijin informed Dingding that all arrangements for Ning Weixuan’s hospitalization and surgery were complete. Dingding comforted him, assuring him that with Ning Weixuan and Gao Ren now together, and his reconciliation with their father, everything would be fine. Ning Weijin then reminded Dingding that their own issue remained unresolved—her rejection of his proposal. Before Dingding could respond, she received an urgent phone call, learning that Chen Xun was in trouble and in need of rescue. She immediately left for the hospital where he was being treated, confirming with Big Cat that Chen Xun was in critical condition and being resuscitated.
