Chen Xun took the earliest flight to Beijing to find Wen Zixin, who was initially cold towards him.
He presented her with a termination letter, explaining that she was no longer his assistant and was free to pursue her own passions. Chen Xun sincerely apologized, admitting his past selfishness with both Wen Zixin and Dingding, realizing he always expected his girlfriends to revolve around him without considering their individual lives, pursuits, and ideals.
Wen Zixin, touched by his sincerity, eventually forgave him, though she asked if he would manage without her, to which he responded he was the boss of Chengpin and had confidence. Wen Zixin then shared that she hadn't been selected for the audition. After speaking with the director, she realized her interest in working in front of the camera had waned, especially after enjoying her recent time helping Chen Xun from behind the scenes.
The director, seeing her potential, recommended her for a director assistant position for a reality show that would begin filming in two weeks. Wen Zixin was thrilled, expressing deep happiness for this new role, which she felt was truly meant for her. Chen Xun, relieved, assured her he now trusted her completely. Upon Ning Weijin's return to the hospital, Shu Yiran greeted him with a heavy punch from behind, declaring them even.

The next morning, Gao Ren stated his intention to return to work quickly, prompting Ning Weixuan to sarcastically remark about him earning money and moving out sooner. Later, Ning Weixuan informed Dingding that Shu Yiran had rejected Gao Ren and was going abroad, signifying Gao Ren had truly let go. Gao Ren returned to work after the hospital investigation found he was not entirely to blame for the previous accident and that he had a flawless record prior.
A loyal client, Miss He, specifically requested him for a minor surgery. Gao Ren tried to reassure himself that he could handle it, but once in the operating room, he was plagued by flashbacks of Yu Jiali's harsh words, "You're ruining my daughter, ruining her whole life.
