Love is Deep Episode 30 Recap
> Love is Deep Recap
Ning Weijin sent Zheng Dingding a WeChat message to apologize, but Dingding felt it lacked sincerity. Moments later, a knock at the door revealed Ning Weijin holding a bouquet of flowers, which Dingding conceded was "double sincerity." Wearing the tie Dingding had given him, Ning Weijin told her that from now on, whether it was a tie or a scarf, he only wanted her to put it on for him.
Dingding accepted his apology, admitting she had been too impulsive that day and had lost her composure. Ning Weijin, filled with remorse, embraced her tightly. He expressed regret that she had been wronged recently and that he, as her boyfriend, was incompetent for not knowing about the major incident with Mu Yixun sooner. Dingding clarified that she hadn't told him because she feared he was too busy, not because she was angry.
She added that she had initially thought of asking for his help, but since he was constantly occupied, she didn't get the chance. She found that solving problems on her own was empowering and joked that she might not need to bother him in the future. Ning Weijin playfully insisted she must always turn to him for help.
Dingding, with a hint of jealousy, then accused him of constantly being intimate with “Dr. Shu,” leaving her no opportunity to share her burdens. Just as Ning Weijin was about to explain, Shu Yiran called. Knowing she was asking him to join her at the library to research literature, Ning Weijin didn't answer. However, Dingding, wanting to accompany him, urged him to go.
On their way, Ning Weijin reminisced about his university days, sharing how he used to claim a quiet corner in the library just to sleep, as the dorms were too noisy. At the library, Shu Yiran approached with two coffees, feigning surprise that Dingding was there and apologizing for not buying her one.
She naturally offered a cup to Ning Weijin, but Dingding quickly produced a cup of chrysanthemum medlar tea she had brewed for him, explaining he had been working hard. Shu Yiran then reluctantly offered the coffee to Dingding, who accepted it. Shu Yiran directed Ning Weijin to the spot she had reserved, but he instead led Dingding to another table. Shu Yiran, with no other choice, gathered her materials and followed them.
While Ning Weijin and Shu Yiran focused on their research, Dingding secretly took a photo of Ning Weijin, messaging him to say he looked most handsome when serious. Ning Weijin immediately replied that he looked best when looking at her. Their open display of affection irritated Shu Yiran, who coughed loudly to get Ning Weijin's attention. Ignoring her, Ning Weijin took Dingding to a bookshelf to find a book, where he stole a kiss.
Dingding softly chided him for being too daring in public, unaware that Shu Yiran, hiding behind the bookshelf, had witnessed the entire exchange, glaring in anger. Meanwhile, Gao Ren returned to the hospital to collect some documents. Dr. Xiang informed him that after examining Yu Jiali and discussing her medical history, it was revealed she had a previous breast augmentation in an unregulated clinic using inferior materials.
Dr. Xiang concluded that Gao Ren wasn't entirely to blame for the recent accident. However, Gao Ren insisted on taking full responsibility, stating that the incident occurred on his operating table and was due to his insufficient preparatory work. Dr. Xiang expressed admiration for Gao Ren's strong sense of responsibility. As Gao Ren was leaving, Dr. Xiang questioned him about Ning Weixuan.
Gao Ren warned Dr. Xiang that if he wasn't serious about Ning Weixuan, he should keep his distance to avoid hurting her, especially as a friend of her brother. Dr. Xiang replied that Ning Weixuan wasn't ready for a new relationship and he considered her a friend, but pointedly remarked that Gao Ren had caused Ning Weixuan more pain than he ever could. Frustrated by Ning Weijin and Dingding's overt affection, Shu Yiran left the library early.
Ning Weijin and Dingding soon followed, but Ning Weijin realized he had forgotten something and went back inside. Dingding waited outside, overhearing Shu Yiran on the phone with Gao Ren. Gao Ren advised Shu Yiran to keep her distance from Ning Weijin, reminding her that he already had a girlfriend. Shu Yiran vehemently refused to give up, accusing Gao Ren of siding with Zheng Dingding.
She declared she would make things clear to Ning Weijin and wouldn't involve Gao Ren in her affairs with Ning Weijin anymore. Later, Ning Weijin took Dingding to a restaurant near their university, a place they often frequented in the past. The woman boss, who recognized Ning Weijin, asked if he had married "that beautiful girl" he used to come with, assuming she was Shu Yiran. Ning Weijin, embarrassed, introduced Dingding as his fiancée.
The woman boss quickly apologized and offered them a complimentary, delicious meal, including their famous duck oil pancakes. Dingding asked Ning Weijin if he knew Shu Yiran liked him. Ning Weijin clarified that his relationship with Shu Yiran wasn't as close as she imagined; it was Gao Ren who always brought her along when they hung out. He reaffirmed that Dingding was the only one in his heart.
Feeling friendless after an argument with Shu Yiran and being coldly received by Ning Weixuan, Gao Ren called Ning Weijin to join him for a barbecue. Gao Ren admitted he felt like a failure, with his career, relationships, and life in general falling apart. Ning Weijin reassured him that he was just going through a tough patch and things would improve. Ning Weijin then pressed Gao Ren about his surgical error, noting it was unlike his usual standard.
Gao Ren confessed he had been distracted during the operation, thinking of "someone." Ning Weijin, assuming he meant Shu Yiran, suggested Gao Ren confess his feelings to her. Gao Ren, however, believed Shu Yiran would reject him anyway. Ning Weijin argued that if he already knew the outcome, he should end it decisively rather than clinging to false hope. Gao Ren agreed, observing that Ning Weijin's advice had changed since he started dating.
Ning Weijin then returned home and suggested Ning Weixuan check on Gao Ren. Ning Weixuan, however, was still upset, recalling Gao Ren’s past affection for Shu Yiran, which ignited her anger. Plagued by nightmares of Yu Jiali transforming into Ning Weixuan on the operating table, Gao Ren woke up in a cold sweat. He called an old client, Lisa, to check on her recovery, and she suggested they meet for a drink.
Gao Ren, assuming she was also having complications, immediately left to meet her. That night, Ning Weixuan and Dr. Xiang were at a bar when Ning Weixuan spotted Gao Ren and Lisa looking cozy. Annoyed that Gao Ren, despite his reported low spirits, seemed quite cheerful, Ning Weixuan directly squeezed herself between them. Fueled by alcohol, she confronted Gao Ren, expressing her heartbreak.
She thought their ballroom dancing was a unique memory but realized she was merely a substitute for Shu Yiran in his life. She declared she had endured her love for him for years and had worked hard for her ideals, but now she was ready to step aside so he could be with the person he truly loved, urging him to be brave and tell Shu Yiran how he felt. She then drank herself into a stupor.
Gao Ren and Dr. Xiang argued over who should take her home, with Dr. Xiang urging Gao Ren to seriously reflect on Ning Weixuan’s drunken confession and how he had failed to understand her feelings sooner. Later, Shu Yiran, having obtained Gao Ren's hotel information from Ning Weijin, found him in his room, which was strewn with instant noodle containers. Overwhelmed by his disheveled state, she began to cry.
Gao Ren forced a smile, assuring her that everything was under control and she shouldn't worry. Shu Yiran announced she was traveling to Beijing the next day, a trip Ning Weijin was unaware she would be joining. Gao Ren advised her not to set herself up for disappointment with Ning Weijin, but Shu Yiran was resolute, determined to insert herself between Ning Weijin and Dingding.
