Love is Deep Episode 15 Recap
> Love is Deep Recap
After Ning Weixuan handed him a notebook of love strategies, Ning Weijin took Dingding to the park, determined to impress her. Following the advice to demonstrate "boyfriend power," he flexed his muscles for her, making her laugh awkwardly. When Dingding reached for her water bottle, Ning Weijin quickly offered to open it, only for both of them to pull, causing water to spray all over Dingding's face.
As he apologized and helped her wipe it away, the notebook accidentally fell from his pocket. Dingding picked it up, reading the title "Strategy to get Dingding in one afternoon," and quickly realized Ning Weijin's unusual behavior was all thanks to the tips written inside. Meanwhile, Ning Weixuan continued her relentless pursuit of Gao Ren, arriving at his plastic surgery hospital. The receptionist nurse, following Gao Ren's earlier instructions, told her he was off duty.
Ning Weixuan, unconvinced, insisted she had his schedule. The nurse then suggested she call him, but Gao Ren's phone was conveniently turned off. Ning Weixuan left, frustrated but suspicious. Moments later, Gao Ren emerged from his hiding spot under the reception desk, profusely thanking the nurses for their help and instructing them to always say he was unavailable whenever Ning Weixuan appeared. Back in the park, Dingding and Ning Weijin sat drawing.
When Dingding rested her hand on the grass, Ning Weijin subtly tried to touch it, but she resumed drawing. Her hand then accidentally landed on his, and she quickly pulled it away, apologizing. Ning Weijin, however, assured her it was "all right" and she "don't have to move her hand." Soon after, a sprinkler system activated behind Dingding. Ning Weijin immediately shielded her with his body, his clothes getting soaked.
After Dingding finished packing her art supplies, she noticed his drenched shirt and helped him wring out his jacket, recognizing how his inadvertent flexing perfectly illustrated one of the notebook's strategies. A young girl then approached Ning Weijin, asking to add him on WeChat, which he declined. Dingding intervened, suggesting they take a short video with her cat toy instead. As they filmed, the girl remarked to Dingding, "Your boyfriend is so sweet. . .
You can't hide that affection in the eyes. The way he looks at you makes the air sweet." After the girl left, Dingding pondered her words, much to Ning Weijin's curiosity. Later that day, Shu Yiran visited Gao Ren at his home after a conference nearby. Gao Ren, relieved it wasn't Ning Weixuan, was happy to see her.
She expressed a craving for his signature instant noodles, a nostalgic dish he often made for her and Ning Weijin in college when they were too busy with experiments. While they ate, Shu Yiran showed him a picture of a new pediatrician from their hospital, explaining the girl was interested in him and she was playing matchmaker at her father's request.
Gao Ren grew angry, feeling that Shu Yiran saw him as a "playboy that wouldn't say no to girls" due to her teasing remarks about his "expertise" in dating. Offended, he stormed off to his room, leaving Shu Yiran alone. As Ning Weijin took Dingding home, he told her how happy he was. He explained that he had taken her to his favorite park and restaurant to help her get to know him better.
He preferred to simplify things, especially in relationships, and wanted to be completely open with her. He acknowledged she might find his feelings abrupt but reassured her that once he was committed, he wouldn't hold anything back. He encouraged her to ask him anything directly and, referencing a movie line, said, "There are things we don't need to finish in a rush. We don't have time constraints. So I'll wait for you."
That evening, a dispirited Gao Ren met Ning Weijin at the swimming pool, where he admitted he only went when he was upset. He confessed his feelings for Shu Yiran, explaining his fear of confessing and potentially ruining their friendship. Ning Weijin confirmed he knew Shu Yiran liked him but reiterated he had no romantic intentions towards her, as his heart belonged to Dingding. Gao Ren lamented that if Ning Weijin liked Shu Yiran, he could "just let it go."
Ning Weijin offered comfort, acknowledging the difficulty of unrequited love. After a swim, which Ning Weijin playfully "lost" to cheer Gao Ren up, he agreed to deliver movie tickets and breakfast to Shu Yiran as Gao Ren's apology. Shu Yiran, still annoyed by Gao Ren's earlier outburst, eventually accepted his sincere apology, which included a play, dinner, and late-night snacks—all on him. Back at Ning Weijin's office, he found his assistants preoccupied with their phones.
When he questioned them, they admitted they were trying to buy tickets for a Comic Con, which was about to start selling. Remembering Dingding's love for comics, Ning Weijin asked one of the assistants to get two tickets for him. The assistants were surprised, speculating about Ning Weijin's hidden interest in comics and the identity of the second ticket holder. The next day, Ning Weixuan made another attempt to find Gao Ren at the hospital.
A nurse again insisted he wasn't there, but another nurse inadvertently brought Gao Ren's surgery schedule to the front desk, exposing his presence. The first nurse quickly tried to cover, claiming it was "another Dr. Gao," but Ning Weixuan saw through the facade. She left, only to send a lightweight express package to Gao Ren's office containing a note that simply read, "Look out." Gao Ren, opening the package, looked up to find Ning Weixuan standing at his door.
His anger flared, but she boldly declared, "Gao Ren, just give up hiding. I'll track you down even if you're on Mars." She then proposed they have dinner, but he curtly refused, stating he was "unavailable" and leaving for surgery. Ning Weixuan insisted she would wait until he was free. She then fell asleep on his office sofa, only to be woken by a nurse at closing time, realizing Gao Ren had once again slipped away.
She shouted after his departing figure, "Whatever you do, I won't give up!" Ning Weijin later visited Dingding at the coffee shop and found her intensely focused on a new drawing, referencing photos of him she had found online to design more styles for her "Little Scarf" cat character. He teased her, causing her to fluster and try to hide her work. He then surprised her with the Comic Con tickets he had acquired.
Dingding was thrilled, confessing she had tried but failed to get them. Ning Weijin then complimented her artwork, especially when it depicted him, prompting her to playfully call him "narcissistic." On their Comic Con date, Ning Weijin admitted he recognized few characters, save for "Machine Cat"—a term Dingding affectionately teased him for, preferring "Doraemon." He confessed his wish for a time machine to return to the past and rectify some regrets, which Dingding understood was about his late mother.
She offered him a Doraemon pendant, assuring him, "Although we can't go back, we still have the future ahead of us, right? Everything will be fine." She added that his current endeavors were "good enough to make up for it," and his mother "would understand." Ning Weijin hugged her, thanking her for always knowing how to comfort him, then playfully teased her for saying "we have a future," making her blush and quickly change the subject to other shows.
Soon after, Dingding's comic of "Little Scarf," depicting a high-and-mighty cat wearing a doctor's uniform, went viral online, circulating throughout Ning Weijin's hospital. Nurses immediately recognized the resemblance to Ning Weijin, with his nickname "Little Scarf" ("Xiaoweijin") also being a subtle nod to his name (Wei Jin). They gossiped about his "spring" of love arriving and the true nature of his relationship with Dingding.
Ning Weijin, overhearing their chatter, mildly reprimanded them for using phones during work hours but notably did not deny the comic's implications, further fueling speculation. Observing this, Ning Weixuan wondered if this public acknowledgment was precisely what Ning Weijin had wanted. Seeing the Doraemon pendant in her brother's room, Ning Weixuan realized the significant progress in his relationship with Dingding.
She proposed a weekend getaway for the two of them, offering to handle all the arrangements and even get Dingding to agree, but only if Ning Weijin would help her lure Gao Ren to the event.
Ning Weijin was hesitant to interfere in her pursuit of Gao Ren, but Ning Weixuan insisted the main goal was to advance his relationship with Dingding, arguing his previous proposal was "perfunctory and boring," and that girls "yearn for a sense of occasion in love" that creates a "special place to create your own memory." She challenged him, asserting he couldn't convince Dingding to spend a weekend away and suggesting her help was "indispensable."
Ning Weijin ultimately agreed to the deal. Ning Weixuan then announced a compulsory team-building activity for her coffee shop staff at a resort, insisting everyone, including Dingding, attend. Dingding initially resisted, citing urgent shipping orders, but was eventually swayed by Ning Weixuan's persistent pleading and the staff's encouragement. Ning Weixuan assured Dingding that the other staff would help her finish her orders before the weekend. At the resort, Ning Weijin was already waiting.
Gao Ren soon arrived, believing Ning Weijin had invited him for a private "romantic bro time," complete with fishing rods. Upon seeing Ning Weixuan, he realized it was another one of the siblings' elaborate traps and tried to flee. Ning Weixuan, however, clung to him, refusing to let go.
Ning Weijin, leaving Gao Ren to his fate, took Dingding to a nearby fishing spot, where Dingding commented on Ning Weijin's statuesque patience, wondering if her own posture was wrong as she failed to catch any fish.
