Chun Shan finished playing basketball. Lisa approached him, bringing a bottle of water. She expressed that she had been looking for him for a long time and deeply regretted her past absence, owing him an apology. Chun Shan comforted her, saying he had never blamed her, that his past life was happy, and he didn't intend to intentionally forget it, encouraging her to look forward. Lisa then asked if reconciliation was still possible between them.

Chun Shan replied that he already had someone he liked. At that moment, Jiang Huai passed by. Chun Shan rushed over, embraced her, and openly introduced Jiang Huai to Lisa as the person he liked. He and Jiang Huai, who was slightly bewildered, then disappeared from Lisa's sight. The next day was scheduled for a four-person road trip. As everyone packed their luggage at the villa in preparation to depart, Li Zhe arrived.

Seeing that they were all going out together, Li Zhe, unwilling to be left alone, insisted on joining them, and Gu Shiyi reluctantly made space for him in the car. The five individuals – Chun Shan, Jiang Huai, Xue Ji, Gu Shiyi, and Li Zhe – embarked on their journey. During the drive to the seaside, they sang happily, and Li Zhe eventually became tired and slept, resting his head on Gu Shiyi's arm.

Upon arriving at the beach, they ran freely, played boisterously, and enjoyed the short, joyful time by the sea breeze. That night, the group played Truth or Dare. Li Zhe lost a round and was penalized to eat a cookie mouth-to-mouth with someone. Li Zhe, holding the cookie, chose Xue Ji. Seeing this, Chun Shan hugged Jiang Huai, refusing to cooperate with Li Zhe. Gu Shiyi, seeing Li Zhe's choice, pulled Li Zhe's head and ate the cookie with him.

Everyone was stunned; the two quickly separated, embarrassed, while the others secretly laughed. Later, Xue Ji and Gu Shiyi sat outside the tent, watching the stars and imagining their life together in the coming decades. Gu Shiyi pondered how difficult it must have been for Xue Ji to live alone for a thousand years.

Xue Ji reflected on having witnessed the world's countless transformations over a millennium, observing that humans were ultimately the most changeable – sometimes kind, sometimes hypocritical; sometimes full of hope, sometimes fantasizing about love's end. In contrast, trees would still revive each spring, and mountains and rivers remained steadfast despite the passage of time.

She added that being alone had made her very brave and that she found this life to be very worthwhile, feeling very happy even for the current moment's joy. She acknowledged that she had persisted until now carrying such hope, cherishing the friends and loved one she had found after a thousand years. Gu Shiyi looked at Xue Ji deeply, holding her hand, and promised that he would never again make her wait too long.

Early the next morning, Xue Ji woke up early and was by the sea. Suddenly, Tao De called. Tao De informed her that Liu Yu Han, who was Lin Beila, had died in prison the night before yesterday. Xue Ji was startled, dropping her water bottle to the ground, and struggled to conceal her panic. She composed herself and asked Tao De for the cause of death.

Tao De explained that Liu Yu Han's death was extremely bizarre: she had a young face, but all her internal organs had failed as if she were an 80-year-old, concluding it was natural old age and organ failure. Xue Ji fell silent, her mood becoming heavy, wondering if her own time was also limited. Everyone else woke up, and Gu Shiyi searched for Xue Ji.

As Gu Shiyi and Chun Shan were packing to leave the island, Jiang Huai discovered Xue Ji was missing. Gu Shiyi eventually found Xue Ji on the beach. He called out and ran towards her, but Xue Ji stopped him from approaching and declared, "Let's break up." Gu Shiyi was stunned; the Xue Ji before him, who had been affectionately nestled in his arms just last night, now seemed as cold as a stranger.

Xue Ji gave no reason or explanation, deliberately stating that she didn't need him. She then silently tried to leave, but Gu Shiyi grabbed her hands tightly. Xue Ji, struggling to hold back tears, resolutely pulled her hands free and drove away alone. Gu Shiyi watched as she disappeared from his sight.

Xue Ji, on her way out, asked Chun Shan for the car keys, telling everyone that she was going back first and would send a driver to pick them up later. In the car, Xue Ji called Tao De's appointed doctor, inquiring about her medical condition and asking if current advanced technology could treat her illness. Tao De, unsure what had happened to Xue Ji, could not give a definitive answer.

Back home, Li Zhe found Xue Ji in her room, hugging herself tightly, her eyes red, silently sobbing. He gently asked Xue Ji what had happened. Xue Ji, no longer able to suppress the profound despair that had plunged her into an abyss, asked Li Zhe to save her.

She deeply regretted having once said she would die gracefully; now, all she wanted was to live well, but it seemed impossible, just as she had finally found good friends and her true love after a thousand years, only for it all to become a sad memory destined for the grave. Li Zhe, after learning about Xue Ji's situation from Tao De, turned to comfort her, assuring her repeatedly that she would be fine and to trust him.

Xue Ji, however, stopped Li Zhe from telling anyone else, as she did not want her problems to burden her friends and loved ones. Li Zhe patted her shoulder, telling her that she was not as strong as she imagined, and Gu Shiyi was not as fragile as she believed.
