Hong Chen held Jiang Qianmei hostage, declaring her intention to go to Yingge Island for revenge against the Long family. She demanded to know why they relentlessly pursued her and her mother, vowing to make the Long family pay. Shu Jingrong, who had suspected Hong Chen's plan since she unusually befriended Jiang Qianmei, tried to persuade her to release Qianmei. Shu Jingrong offered to uncover the truth behind the Long family's persecution of Hong Chen and her mother.
Hong Chen, however, dismissed Shu Jingrong's promise, questioning her authority as she was not the Tower Master. At that moment, Xiao Yiqing entered and, identifying himself as the Tower Master, pledged that Snow Tower would investigate the Long family's actions and bring an end to their enmity.
Xiao Yiqing then addressed Hong Chen, stating it wasn't the right time for her and Zhu Niang to go to Yingge Island, promising to inform her once everything was arranged and urging her to trust Snow Tower. Hong Chen then released Jiang Qianmei. Jiang Qianmei apologized for nearly ruining Xiao Yiqing’s plan due to her carelessness, but he assured her it was "no big deal" and that he and Shu Jingrong would escort her to the Long family.
He then entrusted Nan Chu with leading Snow Tower in his absence, and the group departed. Meanwhile, Ming He, Jia Ruo, and Guang were also preparing to travel to the Long family. Guang reported that their secret sentry at South Sea had arranged for the Long family to send a ship. Ming He instructed Guang to ensure their journey remained covert.
Guang also revealed that Snow Tower was sending a bride to marry into the Long family, and surprisingly, Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong would escort her and stay until after the wedding ceremony. Ming He found this unusual, surmising that Snow Tower and the Long family had ulterior motives. They were expected to arrive at dusk. On Yingge Island, Jiao Lu diligently oversaw the cleaning of the Long residence.
When a maid reported red flowers growing on the Flower Hall wall again, Jiao Lu ordered them cut and placed in the future madam’s room. She observed with a cold smile that the hall would be filled with flower scent on the new madam’s arrival, hinting at a trial the new madam must face. Jiao Lu also instructed a group of black-clad individuals to complete a task given by the Moon Sect.
One man voiced concern about having only one Azure Azalea when both the Moon Sect and Snow Tower sought it. Jiao Lu calmly stated that few knew what the real Azure Azalea looked like, besides Master Qing Ya and Madam Long, and the Master had not decided who would receive it.
She also noted that the new madam might not pass her trial, and suggested Master Qing Ya might have something planned for the Moon Sect Mistress, instructing them to house her secretly in a separate courtyard upon her arrival. On the ship to Yingge Island, Xiao Yiqing told Shu Jingrong that Yingge Island held many secrets.
Their mission was not just to acquire the Azure Azalea and seek justice for Hong Chen and her mother, but also to uncover the truth behind the deaths of the eleven previous brides. He reminded Shu Jingrong to focus on the "big picture" as the alliance with the Long family was uncertain. Shu Jingrong asked if he was still angry about her volunteering to marry into the Long family.
Xiao Yiqing urged her to be cautious, highlighting the Long family’s mysterious nature and unrivaled power in the South Sea. He also found it odd that dense fog prevented the rest of Snow Tower's disciples from joining them. Shu Jingrong then handed Xiao Yiqing a sachet, asking him to open it if "something bad happens" to her.
Xiao Yiqing solemnly vowed that she belonged to Snow Tower and he would not let anything happen to her, keeping the sachet and promising to return it if she remained unharmed. A maid, Xiao Yin, panicked when she saw blood dripping from a portrait in the Flower Hall and reported it to Jiao Lu.
Jiao Lu, however, found no blood, only a flower scent, and rebuked Xiao Yin for being rash and venturing into a forbidden area, warning her about the "Long family curse" that begins with the flower scent and the Master's potential displeasure. Later, Hao Tian greeted Jiang Qianmei, Xiao Yiqing, and Shu Jingrong upon their arrival at Yingge Island.
He explained that adverse weather would prevent the remaining Snow Tower members and Master Qing Ya from arriving for two days, dismissing Shu Jingrong's insinuation that the Long family controlled the weather. He encouraged them to rest on the island. Jiao Lu directed a maid to take Jiang Qianmei to her room, while Xiao Yiqing reassured Qianmei to contact him or Shu Jingrong if she needed anything.
Elsewhere on the island, Hong Chen, having also arrived, was immediately ambushed by black-clad assassins. She fought back fiercely, convinced they were sent by Qing Ya and the Long family. Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong explored the island, finding a cemetery with only eleven tombs, which they believed belonged to the mysteriously deceased previous brides. Xiao Yiqing noted the absence of other Long family graves, suggesting the cemetery was specifically built.
Xiao Yin accosted them for being in a forbidden area and moving around at night, warning them that the Flower Hall was also off-limits, even to distinguished guests, and they would face consequences if they trespassed. Xiao Yiqing, expressing admiration for the late Master Long, asked Xiao Yin to guide them to the ancestral hall. Xiao Yin refused, stating that she was merely a maid, did not know its location, and only past Masters were permitted to visit.
In her room, Jiang Qianmei received a blank scroll from Xiao Yin, who said Hao Tian prepared it, knowing her love for painting. Xiao Yin also placed a "Crimson Azalea" on her desk, explaining it was the late Madam Long's favorite and that its scent permeated every room. Qianmei felt dizzy from the strong flower scent and sensed someone watching her from outside. Hao Tian then entered, finding Qianmei distressed.
He tried to kiss her and urged her to run away with him to live in seclusion. Qianmei refused, emphasizing her responsibility to Snow Tower's alliance with the Long family and the potential chaos her escape would cause. The next day, Jiang Qianmei told Shu Jingrong about her experience. Xiao Yiqing reiterated to Shu Jingrong the paramount importance of Jiang Qianmei's safety and cautioned her against impulsive actions.
He challenged Shu Jingrong's apparent doubt in his integrity regarding Qianmei and the Azure Azalea. Later, feeling restless and watched, Jiang Qianmei was surprised by Xiao Yiqing's visit, who again offered his or Shu Jingrong’s help if she needed anything. Shu Jingrong covertly entered the forbidden Flower Hall, observing the portraits of past Madams and questioning why such an ordinary place was restricted.
Hao Tian and his guards quickly discovered her, accusing her of trespassing, which he declared a capital crime. Shu Jingrong drew her Blood Scythe in defiance. Xiao Yiqing arrived, explaining it as a misunderstanding, claiming he and Shu Jingrong were seeking a quiet place for a "tryst" and accidentally entered the forbidden area. Jiang Qianmei arrived to support their story, blaming Xiao Yiqing’s tardiness for Shu Jingrong getting lost.
Hao Tian, though suspicious, allowed Xiao Yiqing to lead Shu Jingrong away to avoid an open confrontation with Snow Tower. Jiao Lu later reported to Hao Tian that Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong were back in their rooms. Hao Tian confirmed he only gave them an "out" to avoid offending Snow Tower. He stressed that the Flower Hall, honoring the late Madam Long, was forbidden, and they were not to be allowed in again.
Hao Tian also noted that besides the Crimson Azalea in the Flower Hall, there was nothing unusual, and wondered what Xiao Yiqing and Shu Jingrong were trying to find out. That night, Xiao Yiqing returned to the Flower Hall alone. Jiao Lu was distracted by Xiao Yin’s report that Jiang Qianmei was suffering from a high fever due to not adapting to the island, leading Jiao Lu to tend to her.
Meanwhile, Shu Jingrong overheard guards discussing the arrival of "many outsiders" that morning, inferring that other groups besides Snow Tower were on the island. She re-entered the Flower Hall and discovered a secret room, which she promptly entered. Separately, as Xiao Yiqing examined the red flowers blooming in the Flower Hall, he felt dizzy.
He rushed out and began to hallucinate, seeing Shu Jingrong’s back, which then turned into a female ghost with bleeding eyes reaching out and pleading for help. Though he instinctively drew his sword, he quickly calmed himself, knowing that ghosts do not exist.
