Synopsis
Lin Chen (Shaw), the hospital’s surgical prodigy, was widely recognized as a “surgical master,” yet by the end of the year, he only received a 2,400 yuan bonus—just 10 yuan per operation. Meanwhile, the surgical director, who never stepped onto the operating table, pocketed 1.2 million yuan. At a departmental meeting, Lin Chen publicly announced, “From today on, I’m done competing. I’m going to be a slacker and leave work on time.” Director Wang Zhenguo thought the department could still thrive without Lin Chen, but when a highly influential patient specifically requested Lin Chen to perform the surgery, he panicked completely.
