Assistant Cao arrived at Yang Zhen's residence, addressing him as Deputy Brigade Commander Yang, and noted that he was relaxing at home instead of at headquarters. Cao delivered a new password book, explaining that the army was preparing for a full-scale offensive and that weapons and ammunition would arrive soon. Yang Zhen handed over the old password book. While Xiao Hong was serving tea, Yang Zhen impatiently dismissed her.

Xiao Hong lingered outside the door, overhearing their conversation about the importance of the password book and the upcoming large-scale military operation. Later, Xiao Hong came to apply medicine to Xian Er, who was covered in bruises from Yang Zhen's abuse. Xiao Hong urged Xian Er to escape with her son, Sail, but Xian Er felt there was nowhere to run. Fearing Yang Zhen would kill Xian Er, Xiao Hong insisted they leave.

Xian Er finally told Xiao Hong to seek help from Chong Liming. Meanwhile, Chong Liming reflected on their failed assassination attempt on Yang Zhen. He believed their strategy was flawed, with too many vulnerabilities, and that they had not adequately identified Yang Zhen's weaknesses, always being at a disadvantage. Just then, Xiao Hong arrived, pleading with Chong Liming to save Xian Er.

She tearfully recounted how Yang Zhen's abuse had worsened since he discovered Xian Er met Chong Liming, and now he even beat Xian Er in front of Sail. Chong Liming was shocked to learn about the child. He instructed Xiao Hong to tell Xian Er to bring Sail out through the backyard at midnight, assuring her they would deal with the guards. Chong Liming asked Xiao Hong why Xian Er married Yang Zhen.

Xiao Hong explained that after returning to her hometown in Hubei, warlord conflicts destroyed their home and military ruffians stole their money. Desperate, they met Yang Zhen, who initially seemed kind and offered them shelter. However, he turned out to be a "double-faced person," lashing out at Xian Er whenever he was angry, even over military matters unrelated to her. Chong Liming discussed the rescue plan with Wen Gou and Wagner.

Wagner worried it might be a trap, and Wen Gou urged Chong Liming not to complicate their main mission. However, Chong Liming was determined. He decided to use Xian Er and Sail to draw out Yang Zhen. He revealed that Yang Zhen's greatest weakness was his military password book, and if they held it, Yang Zhen would surely comply. Back at Yang Fu, Xiao Hong subtly signaled Xian Er.

When Xian Er excused herself from dinner, claiming to feel unwell, Yang Zhen angrily dismissed her. Xiao Hong then relayed Chong Liming's plan, asking Xian Er to steal Yang Zhen's password book from his military uniform's right pocket. Xian Er initially questioned its purpose but agreed after Xiao Hong reminded her of Yang Zhen's cruelty and his responsibility for the deaths of A Yi's mother and Yu Chu. That night, Yang Zhen violently assaulted Xian Er.

Chong Liming, Wen Gou, and Ke Yan Xin, disguised as patrol soldiers, silently eliminated the guards outside Yang Fu. As Yang Zhen slept, Xian Er quietly rose and took the password book from his pocket. She met Xiao Hong and Sail in the backyard, but they spotted changing guards and quickly hid. After the guards passed, Yang Zhen woke to find Xian Er missing. Furious, he began searching.

Realizing she couldn't escape with him, Xian Er handed the password book to Xiao Hong, telling her to take Sail to Chong Liming. Chong Liming instructed Ke Yan Xin to escort Xiao Hong and Sail to their hideout, while he remained to confront Yang Zhen. Yang Zhen found Xian Er, brutally beating her and demanding the password book. Xian Er remained silent. Yang Zhen then led his men to surround Chong Liming, who had been waiting.

Chong Liming proposed exchanging Xian Er for the password book. Yang Zhen agreed to an immediate exchange, but Chong Liming insisted they meet at the Green Dragon Society hall at dawn, declaring that only one of them would leave alive. Yang Zhen taunted Chong Liming, promising to send him to reunite with Yang Yu Chu. Understanding the severe consequences of losing the password book, Yang Zhen feared Fang Lulin's wrath.

He secretly ordered his adjutant to gather all guards, including those on leave. Anticipating a confrontation and potential inquiries from the garrison, Yang Zhen instructed his adjutant to request authorization from headquarters to deal with "enemy spies wearing our uniforms," thus creating a cover story to keep other units away from the scene.

Meanwhile, Ke Yan Xin made arrangements for Lao Wu to escort Xiao Hong, disguised as a mourner, and the bodies of the slain guards out of the city. Xiao Hong was worried about Xian Er, but Ke Yan Xin assured her that they would do everything to rescue her. Chong Liming instructed Wagner to use Si San's camera to photograph every page of the password book. After the exchange, they planned to subtly return the book to Yang Zhen's pocket.

This way, the Beiyang Army, if unaware of the theft, might not change their codes, giving A Yi an advantage in deciphering their communications. Chong Liming, having planned everything, revealed his decision to stay and rescue Xian Er, convinced that Yang Zhen would be executed for losing the password book. He urged Wen Gou, Wagner, and Ke Yan Xin to leave the city immediately and deliver the photographic evidence to A Yi.

However, his comrades refused to abandon him, insisting they would face their fate together. Ke Yan Xin, Wen Gou, and Wagner finalized their detailed ambush plan at the dilapidated Green Dragon Society hall, which had been abandoned for years. They knew the layout, including its single-story main hall, two-story back hall with rooms on the second floor, and various outbuildings in the backyard.

Their strategy involved blocking front and back entrances and setting up an ambush at a dilapidated section of the side wall. Yang Zhen, after receiving approval for his fabricated "enemy spies" report, issued orders to his men. He divided them into five teams: two flanking teams to enter through windows, a rear team to search from the back, and two front teams to guard the entrance and remain mobile. He then led his forces toward the Green Dragon Society hall.

Yang Zhen arrived at the Green Dragon Society hall, holding Xian Er at gunpoint. Chong Liming was waiting inside, placing the password book on a table. Suddenly, screams and gunshots echoed from outside, indicating Yang Zhen's forces had fallen into the ambush. Wen Gou, Ke Yan Xin, and Wagner swiftly eliminated the remaining soldiers. Enraged and desperate, Yang Zhen drew a dagger, demanding Chong Liming surrender.

Chong Liming urged him to release Xian Er so they could fight one-on-one, offering Yang Zhen a chance to live. Yang Zhen responded by stabbing Xian Er in the chest, forcing Chong Liming to drop his gun. Yang Zhen then compelled Xian Er to pick up Chong Liming's gun and shoot him.

Xian Er, with a final plea to Chong Liming to take care of her child, turned the gun towards Yang Zhen, but he stabbed her again and then shot her. Xian Er collapsed and died instantly. Yang Zhen burst into maniacal laughter. Overcome with rage, Chong Liming charged at Yang Zhen, lifting him and slamming him against a pillar, repeatedly striking his head until Yang Zhen was barely conscious.

Two surviving soldiers attempted to ambush Chong Liming but were immediately shot dead by Ke Yan Xin and Wen Gou. Chong Liming then fired three shots into Yang Zhen, avenging Yu Chu, Si San, and Xian Er. Later, Chong Liming, Wagner, Ke Yan Xin, and Wen Gou met Xiao Hong and Sail outside the city. When Sail asked for Xian Er, Chong Liming gently told him that his mother was busy and would join them later. Lao Wu bid farewell to Chong Liming, who gave him a sum of money to help the displaced villagers. Lao Wu expressed his gratitude and departed, vowing to live well.
