Adapted from A Nai’s novel "Jian Nan De Zhi Zao / 艰难的制造", it follows Liu Jun, a German-educated returnee in the late 1990s, who sets out to modernize his father’s outdated machinery factory. Facing management and technical challenges, he leads the Tengfei Factory through transformative upgrades, ultimately carving a place for it—and himself—in China’s rising manufacturing industry.

Sinopsis
Liu Jun, who returns to his hometown of Donghai in the late 1990s after studying in Germany. Embracing the tides of the times, he is determined to transform his father’s old machinery factory into a technologically advanced, modern manufacturing enterprise. Grounded and pragmatic, Liu Jun works hard to adapt to and integrate into the domestic environment while exploring management strategies and overcoming technical challenges.
With solid expertise and an idealistic spirit, he helps the Tengfei Factory undergo multiple upgrades and transformations. Ultimately, he realizes his personal value, and the Tengfei Factory rises to prominence in the wave of China’s manufacturing boom.
