One of Friday's team members commented that Lu Sen rarely left the house. Meanwhile, the team was busy installing a high-level security x-ray scanner at Lu Sen's home.
Mr. Xie, the butler, explained that despite the confidential address, people occasionally sent strange and dangerous items, including garbage, glass shards, razor blades, and even a cursed doll from a disgruntled former employee. He stressed that the scanner was necessary to protect Lu Sen, who, as a young genius boss inheriting a large company, had inevitably made enemies. All incoming items, even from the lab, would now require security screening.
The team became worried about Friday due to the new security protocols, as she had to be placed in a shielded box for security screening, causing her to lose signal and raising concerns about her battery life. Yang Shanshan, who was impersonating Friday, confided in the real robot, expressing her frustration with having to pretend and participate in Lu Sen's "playing house" games. She wished she were a robot, free from such worries.
The robot Friday encouraged her to "be herself," asserting, "Friday is Yang Shanshan. Yang Shanshan is Friday," signifying their deep connection and mutual influence. Later, as Lu Sen and Yang Shanshan climbed the mountain, they both struggled to contact each other due to a complete lack of signal. Lu Sen grew anxious, constantly checking his phone. Yang Shanshan admired the beautiful scenery but soon began to feel unwell and sneeze from the cold air.
She worried that if she caught a cold, her human identity would be exposed. She felt she couldn't rely on her team in such a critical moment. Lu Sen eventually found her, already very uncomfortable. He shared a childhood memory of his mother painting there while he played with fireflies, then suggested they return to the mountain every Friday of the month. Yang Shanshan agreed, saying "Okay," but then suddenly collapsed into his arms.
Lu Sen carried her down the mountain. During the descent, he accidentally scraped his finger. When Yang Shanshan awoke and noticed his bleeding finger, she insisted on walking, saying, "Caring can help me charge the battery," and that his concern had given her "a little power" to make it back. Once home, Yang Shanshan treated Lu Sen's wound, describing it as "friends helping each other."
However, Lu Sen felt her head was burning hot and mistakenly concluded that "Friday" was "broken" or had "excessive power consumption." He immediately took her back to the lab, telling Fu Yang that Friday's battery was too weak and needed significant improvement, and her weight should be reduced. Fu Yang was unable to reveal that "Friday" was actually Yang Shanshan.
Back at the lab, Fu Yang reprimanded Yang Shanshan for losing contact, but his colleague, Pai Song, intervened, explaining that Yang Shanshan was sick with a fever. The team then focused on treating her illness. Meanwhile, Lu Sen, impatient for Friday's return, couldn't shake thoughts of Friday, feeling his heart race, confused by these new emotions. Later, he sent new cotton clothes for Friday through Mr. Xie.
The team, however, dismissed the cotton as impractical, preferring their specialized aviation-grade fiber for optimal charging. Yang Shanshan decided she would wear the new, more stylish clothes to Lu Sen's house, while the actual robot Friday would use her original clothing for charging. Despite her lingering illness, Yang Shanshan felt well enough to return to Lu Sen's. Lu Sen, impatient for Friday's return, was unexpectedly interrupted by Kang Li'er, who had returned from abroad unannounced to give him a "surprise."
She teased him about never visiting her in the UK, unlike Li Zhan. She presented him with a suit, noting she had guessed his size to maintain the surprise. Kang Li'er then suggested inviting Li Zhan for dinner the next day, hoping to reconcile the two men, whose company feud had become rumored. She reminded Lu Sen that childhood friends shouldn't simply drift apart.
Upon Yang Shanshan's arrival as Friday, she quickly accessed Kang Li'er's profile, discovering she was 27, held double master's degrees in economics and intelligent business operations, and was attractive. Yang Shanshan felt a pang of jealousy, observing Lu Sen's seemingly "fond" demeanor toward Kang Li'er, a stark contrast to how he usually treated her. Kang Li'er then brought up marriage, revealing her father considered Lu Sen his "ideal son-in-law" and desired a "Kang family's business connections through marriage" alliance.
Lu Sen appeared surprised and claimed ignorance of any such arrangements. As Kang Li'er pressed him, asking how he felt about marrying her and if he liked her, Lu Sen felt an overwhelming urge to escape. When she gently touched his shoulder, his body reacted strongly. Making a quick excuse about having "things to deal with," he retreated to his bedroom. He frantically called out for Friday as red rashes rapidly covered his body.
He stumbled, collapsing before he could reach the syringe in his drawer. Yang Shanshan, hearing his distressed calls, rushed upstairs. She found him in a terrible state, recalling his past instruction to give him a shot if he ever became unrecognizable. With a determined resolve, she retrieved the syringe and administered the injection, saving his life.
